It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking 💔 news of Tokio’s unexpected passing. Tokio was one of our beloved dogs from Chile, and she left this world surrounded by love, cradled in her mom Carolyn’s arms.

Our hearts go out to Carolyn, Bill, and her human siblings during this unimaginable time of loss. Tokio was so deeply loved, and her absence leaves an ache that words cannot capture.

In honor of Tokio, we are holding a fundraiser to help cover her end-of-life care. Our goal is to raise $2,000, and while her family is not asking for support, we at Homeless Pets Canada Society want to ease their burden during this difficult time.

A heartfelt thank you to sweet Pimi 🐶 one of our very own rescue puppies, and her amazing mommy, Shannon, for their incredibly generous $200 donation to our organization on behalf of some wonderful mummy friends. Pimi, who was adopted by Shannon, is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do—and their kindness and support inspire us to keep saving more precious dogs. Meet Cookie, a sweet and gentle 6-year-old who's ready to find her forever home. While she may be a little shy at first, her adorable nature shines through, making her the perfect companion for someone who loves calm and cozy moments. Cookie would thrive as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she truly deserves.

At around 24 kilos, she's a medium-sized dog with a low-energy personality. A few leisurely walks a day are all she needs to be content. Cookie has been overlooked time and again, but we think she's beautiful inside and out, and we know you will too.

Cookie loves being petted and is great with people, including children. While we’re unsure about her interactions with cats, she's fine with other dogs as long as they’re not overly energetic. Though she may not be a puppy, she has so much love to give and would be an amazing addition to a relaxed, loving family.

Cookie, like every dog, deserves a second chance. Could you be the one to finally give her the home she’s been waiting for?

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Drew Thompson, the store manager at Bosley’s on 3435 Fraser Street, for his incredible support and dedication to our mission. Drew is hosting a special Christmas 🎄 Day event at the store to raise awareness and support for our senior dogs 🐶 —those who have never had the chance to find a forever home.

This thoughtful initiative is a wonderful way to make a difference for these deserving dogs, and we are truly grateful for his partnership.

We also invite you to join us in supporting the cause! You can stop by the store to participate in the event or donate your spare change in our donation box. Every contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way in helping us cover the veterinary bills for our rescue dogs.

This is Toby, the tiniest little hero with the heart of a bear! At just 2.5 years old and weighing 4.5 kilos, this small guy is bursting with charm. Toby is low-energy, super well-behaved, and absolutely loves being snuggled in your arms. He’s also a big fan of toys and can zoom around like a pro when the mood strikes!

Toby gets along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and pretty much anyone he meets (cats are still a mystery, though). Despite his small size, Toby has survived big challenges. Abandoned as a puppy, he spent a whole year on the streets. It’s truly a miracle he made it, but his sweet, loving spirit pulled him through.

This little guy has endured some tough times, even being attacked by bigger dogs, but with care, patience, and plenty of love, his body and heart have healed. Now, Toby is ready for his happily-ever-after—a family who will treasure him as much as he’ll treasure them.

Tika is a 5.5-year-old sweetheart who is super friendly, happy, and full of life. She loves the company of big dogs and adores being around children, making her a fantastic family dog.

Tika is incredibly obedient, smart, and house-trained. She lives inside her caretaker’s home, thriving as part of a family, and is in excellent health. Her age has caused some to overlook her, but she has so much love and joy to give.

Rescued from the Hualqui mountains, where she was found alone, starving, cold, and dehydrated, Tika has transformed into a playful and grateful dog. Despite her tough past, she now has the energy and spirit of a puppy.

This is Will, a stunning 1.5-year-old with a sleek black coat and a heart full of love. Weighing around 28 kilos, Will is bursting with energy and ready for adventure! Sadly, because of his black fur, he’s been overlooked time and time again, even facing the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia—simply because of his color.

Will is a playful, social boy who adores people, children, and other dogs. Car rides are his favorite, especially when he can hang his head out the window, feeling the breeze on his face. He’s happiest when he’s running or going for long walks, making him the perfect companion for someone who loves the outdoors. With a yard to run and play in, Will will thrive, soaking up the sun and enjoying the grass beneath his paws.

Because of his rough start in life—he was found tied up in a park, bleeding from his ear and suffering from a lung infection—he’s protective of his food but has come such a long way. Now fully recovered and healthy, Will is neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. He doesn’t get along with cats, but if he feels scared, he’ll hide behind someone he trusts, showing his gentle and loyal side.

Will is young, smart, and eager to learn. He’s already great on a leash and is the perfect age to continue blossoming into a wonderful companion. All he needs now is a family who will love him for who he is, black fur and all.

We are overjoyed to share the heartwarming news that yesterday, two incredible dogs, Alma 🐾💖 and Gaston 🐾❤️, arrived at YVR from Chile 🇨🇱 to finally meet their forever families.

Alma and Gaston have endured unimaginable hardships in a society that once overlooked their worth. Alma was rescued in dire condition, and Gaston, after surviving a devastating hit-and-run, underwent the amputation of one of his front legs. Despite these challenges, their resilience shines brightly. Gaston’s journey began in Quellón, a remote town in Chiloé, Chile—the southernmost city in the world.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Jada and Devon, whose compassion and dedication saved their lives. Thank you for embracing these beautiful souls and welcoming them with open arms. Your love and acceptance remind us of the transformative power of kindness and the importance of giving these dogs the second chance they so deeply deserve.
