Twilight came into my life a little over five years ago. At the time the very last thing I needed was another cat in my household. But one day my soon to be mother in law Debbie, fiancé Casey, and I was at PetSmart here in Phoenix, Arizona. The store has a in house rescue called Faiths Animal Rescue. They had all of their cats out in cages for all to see. In one of the cages was a pile of the ugli
est black persian kittens you have ever seen in your life. At the time her name was Darla, and her brothers name was Spanky. Debbie fell in love with Spanky almost right away. As she was fawning over him I looked over and saw my Twilight, right away we bonded. She all but jumped into my arms, but like I said at the time another cat is the last thing I needed. So with a heavy heart I put her away, and Debbie did the same with Spanky. Well about a week later Debbie comes home with Buja, and she told me that Twilight was still there. So I did what any normal 19yr old girl would do, I went home and begged my mom to please let me adopt Twilight. After a couple of hours after begging and pleading she gave me the money and I went to file the paperwork for her. Here's where the interesting part comes in; Twilight had to be spayed before I adopted her and she also had a infection in her tail. So after a week I get a call back from the head of Faiths Animal Rescue. Her name is Barbara and she told me that they had to amputate most of her tail and if I didn't want her anymore she would understand. In my mind at the point I was really taken aback by that. Why would that change my want for her? That just makes her all the more unique. But after some thought I realized that some people don't want a animal if there's something wrong with it or missing. To me its horrible to not want a animal because it has a missing part or a medical condition but that's why were all different I suppose. After waiting for her to get healed up enough for me to take I finally got my girl, and that's how she became Twilight the Bobtail Persian. That my friends is how her story started and trust me there's SO much more to tell.
