Welcome Simba. He’s a 9 year old English Bulldog. He’s neutered and can leave right away. He’s also heartworm negative. He’s an owner surrender by no fault of his own.
Simba spends his time on his bed, catching a snooze. But, he comes right up to greet visitors, especially if you have treats.
Simba is a super chill guy who is great on leash. He is attentive to his surroundings and curious. He was in the yard with another dog, Korra. We kept a safe distance between them. But, they just watched each other. We do always recommend meet and greets.
Simba welcomed the affection and treats he received. He has great big smiles in return. The shelter is no place for a senior. Can this sweetheart join your family?

INT: large mass on cranial aspect of proximal brachium very firm approx over 10 cm diameter

M/S: BCS 3/9, extremely lame on front right
NEURO: apparently normal

Radiographs: Front right mass- entirely mineral opacity of prolific growth

PROBLEMS:
- front right shoulder bone mass- osteosarcoma, chrondrosarcoma, or neoplasia of periosteum

PLAN: prognosis: grave
Patient is in a lot of pain despite NSAIDS being on board. Proceeding with humane euth. at this time due to severity of discomfort and inability to treat.

Austin, TX - 7YO female mixed breed

Special HELP requested ~ we SO hope a family has the mercy AND bandwidth to take on Penny. We are preparing for her possible new case as a young lady of just 7 yrs that needs a mid-life makeover to right side her life. She’s spent the last 2 yrs of her life progressively getting larger and larger and more and more immobile as a result. Her life depends on reversing course. All of the vetting is not yet completed so some dynamics are still to unfold or other rescue placement could be sought.

For now we will describe the home 🏡 environment that will be needed and we welcome those interested in being her lifesaving foster family to reply to [email protected]

Penny is 113 lbs and should be half her size‼️She’s a bit overwhelmed at the moment to be staying at a shelter…staff are helping her to adjust. She’s not in a public kennel at this time. Once she’s vetted and ready to go, this will mark her first milestone, the journey to health ❤️‍🩹 and reclaiming her life.

Home 🏡 needed:
-longterm, this will be many months
-with a patio or spot close to a door, on a washable surface area, that can be designated as her space, with easy yard access nearby
-a foster provider with enough arm strength to help her rise when needed, using a provided hand lift. There may be times 2 people in the household may have to help in that same capacity such as if she gets herself into an odd situation.
-gives any oral or topical meds prescribed
-follows a prescribed food management plan
-veterinary plan may include home vet visits until she’s able to be transported for occasional clinic visits-all TBD.
-all meds, food and supplies would be provided

Penny is in no position to fret over dogs 🐶 or cats 🐱 in the home. As long as your pets are not mean to her as a vulnerable animal, everyone will mesh.

Was adopted from shelter 1.5yrs ago. He’s around 2yrs old now. Owner dumped him after she adopted a female puppy, saying she couldn’t afford to fix him or her. Even when offered help she left him. He is terrified and not happy with staff. He was shaking so much in the kennel but with another dog with me he relaxed enough to come out and be a dog. He’s only 26lbs. Shelter hasn’t been able to do much with him because of his fear, so he will be euthanized unless someone comes for him. Please help us help him!

Hazel has been waiting for over 80 days to find a home to call her own! She was originally brought to the shelter as a stray, along with her sister, by one of our officers. After a week of being at the shelter, her owner called and said she would be coming by to reclaim her dogs, but she never showed up. Hazel’s sister has since been adopted, while Hazel has been left waiting for her forever family to come around. Hazel is a 3-year-old Heeler/Pitbull mix that weighs approximately 34 pounds. She is an outgoing girl that lights up when she is around people. Some visitors have noted that Hazel seems to be somewhat selective with males. However, she has been an angel with male shelter staff and male volunteers that work with her regularly, so with time and love she is happy to let her walls down. Hazel has already been spayed and tested negative for heartworms. Her adoption/rescue pull fee is $120.00.
