Monday my sweet, sweet Lucy Abagail crossed the rainbow bridge. My baby was in stage 4 chronic kidney disease and in a lot of pain. Lucy was only with me 4 ½ years and passed at the age of 14 ½. She came to us September 2021 and passed March 9th 2025.
She was a good companion to not only me but also my Louis, he had bonded with her immediately and in the mornings sometimes, she would want to sleep late. When Lucy was ready to get up, she would let Louis know and then Louis would get me to help her down off the bed.
Lucy gave me kisses like no other dog; it was if she had a surplus of kisses just for me. When she wanted a pup cup or a treat, she would give me a couple of gentle pats on the arm. If I said “all gone”, she would give me the evil eye. If she wanted fed or to go outside she would stand in front of me and become a bully barking at me, letting me know I was not moving fast enough. Lol. She loved her daily walks when it wasn't freezing outside. When we walked if a neighbor was outside doing something, she would just stop and become the neighborhood nosey neighbor.
When I came home without her, my dogs looked at me with “where is she.” I explained that “Lucy was all gone”, all three looked at the end of the sofa where she laid and then Louis looked in the bedroom. He loved his Lucy so very much.
Rest my baby girl, you are in no more pain and know, you will never be forgotten. Know you were loved and will always be in our hearts. We will meet again one day.
