URGENT: Duplin County, NORTH CAROLINA: This perfect, super cute girl, Calianna, came into the shelter this week as a stray. She has a posted "last day" of Monday, 7/17. She is a petite girl, and the shelter has her listed at 30 lbs. She is Heartworm Negative. Approximately 2 years old. She needs a commitment tomorrow (Friday) in order to be assured she is safe on Monday, her "last day".

Here is what we have found out about her:
She came into the shelter after running stray at a local manufacturing plant. Truck drivers were feeding her there before she was picked up. She had a puppy in the same vicinity that was thought to be her puppy, and the truckers caught and took the puppy to the shelter a day or two earlier and that puppy has already been pulled by a rescue, but Calianna has not. She does still have some milk, so she has not completely dried up from her puppy(ies).

About her personality: She is very very sweet, low key, and calm. She seems to love everybody equally, men and women, dogs/cats. She was actually trapped in a cat trap with a feral cat, so obviously she gets along with cats as well. She seems to bond quickly with the people she interacts with and her tail wags constantly around people and shelter staff. She takes treats very gently. She knows "sit" and has good leash manners. She seems to try to keep her kennel as clean as she possibly can given she is in an open intake county shelter.

About her health: She is small and petite, and with a little TLC and good food, she should develop a beautiful coat. She appears to have been on her own for a while and could stand some grooming and brushing. She does have some broken teeth on one side and a long scrape along her ribs, so not sure how that happened, but she allowed examination of the area. It does not seem to bother her at this time other than a little bit of tenderness. Her broken teeth could also come from panic in the cat trap, and once adopted or rescued, she needs her teeth examined further while sedated for spay. But they are nice and white. She most likely is around two or less. She does not seem to have any impairment or limp in her gait so hopefully the scrape is just superficial.

Overall in summary, she is a healthy, happy, sweet, social girl that is dog and cat friendly, heartworm negative and should blend in nicely in any household or family. She will love a family that will allow her to be very Velcro and be part of the family and activities around the house.

In German, Haus means home. And that's exactly what this boy is looking for this spring. If you're looking for a companion to go along with you on long hikes and adventures, then you've found them! This boy needs far more than just a walk or two a day to keep him happy. But it doesn't take much for him to make you happy! Haus gets the most adorable zoomies and is sure to make you laugh with the joyous smile he wears on his face. He also loves to toss toys around in the yard to keep you entertained. After all the fun is had, he loves to snuggle up for some pets.

Here's what Haus had to say when we asked what his ideal home looked like:
- I need an owner with working breed dog experience who understands me!
- I want someone who's around to keep me busy and take me on all the fun adventures I long to have! I love to hike!
- I love sharing my foster home with a canine sibling, and would love one in my new home (as long as they are cool and keep up with all my playful energy).
- I'll be honest, I don't always love to share, so older teens or adults only please.
- I can be cautious of new things and new people at first (who can blame me with all the change I've been through) so I need a family that is willing to help build my confidence
- Fenced in yard would be ideal (I have lots of zoomies to get out!)

❤️Saving Russell Dogs

Aledo, TX - Luna, 12 y/o, spayed female Aussie mix, 45 lbs

Luna is super friendly with people, especially children. I used to have a cat that she did really well with. I’ve seen her behave indifferently with dogs, sometimes good and sometimes irritable. She’s not super active, but loves to go on walks. She’s not much for playing with toys. She knows sit, shake, and speak. Very well behaved and good listener.

Luna survived an autoimmune disease 5 years ago. Since then it was recommended by vet that she doesn’t get vaccines. She’s otherwise healthy now. She does leak urine, have tried medication to stop it, but didn’t keep at it. Has not been tested for heart worm since autoimmune disease recovery.

I’m rehoming due to a child that suffers severely from allergies.
I’d like her rehomed by July 1st. There will be a $50 re-homing fee.

Kochanski is an intelligent cattle dog boy who needs the right person to be his hero!

Originally found as a stray from Scott County VA, Kochanski has been with us for a while after being returned from his adoptive home, and has done very well in a managed foster home with an experienced person. We believe he is best suited for a single adult owner in a rural environment or a home without much city noise or foot traffic. He can be slow to trust, but once he likes you, you have a loyal friend who is excited to see you, play fetch, or take a walk in the park. Kochanski may have potential as a working dog in a farm setting and is used to quiet decompression time in a large crate or kennel after a period of activity.

Kochanski would probably be happiest as the only dog in his home.

All dogs and cats at the Rowlett Shelter have an adoption package of $75 that includes their annual vaccinations, sterilization, Revolution, heartworm test for dogs or an FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. The adoption fees: $75.00 ($55.00 Seniors 60 and over) for animals who have been sterilized by the shelter $25.00 ($5.00 Seniors 60 and over) for animals that have been sterilized prior to being brought in A $5 City Registration for Rowlett residents will be added to the adoption fee.

Virginia Beach VIRGINIA:
Meet Bodie. A handsome young adult Australian Cattle dog brought to us when he was having some struggles in his previous home. Bodie has done well here at the shelter and is really a sweet loving boy. He has meet multiple other dogs in his foster home and loves to play pretty rough. Bodie would do best with children 12 and up as he is all heeler and can be a little rowdy at times. Bodie likes to chew and his favorite are antlers. He also rides great in the car (usually in a crate) and loves for you to scratch his butt! Bodie does have some mild hip issues that our vet team is recommending he continue a joint supplement life long and not too much activity at one time. We are requiring herding dog experience for his future family. So please be sure you are knowledgeable and comfortable to give Bodie to enrichment he will need. Any other canines in the home are required to come meet Bodie!

Have you ever checked the thesaruffs for words that means delicious. It is a lot of words, appetizing, delectable, enticing, savory, heavenly, luscious, rich, savory, spicy, sweet, tasty, tempting, yummy. So many words when you can just say nom nom nom.
I am always dressed for a dinner party in my tricolor tuxedo with gold leaf and crisp white shirt and gloves. Foster Mom says my entire litter is quite pleasant and learning manners pretty dern well for puppies. I am easy going and smart. I am always interested in what Foster Mom is doing, especially if it involves a nom nom nom.
We were found near La Bahia area and didn’t have a home, so Foster Mom is helping us find homes. Foster Mom is my favorite person, but I love people and I am wiling to make friends with more. I love all dogs and I am young enough to learn to enjoy the company of cats.
We are on basic level of crate and potty training, so you will need to teach me more. I know I can do a good boy if you feed me. I love food! I almost forgot to add that our litter has the colors of Border Collies and Cattle Dogs, so we are thought to be some type of herding breed.
