A busy day for Maudie and me with our first ever venture onto the beating line. A lovely no-pressure day with people who made us feel very welcome - and we brought tomorrow's dinner home with us. Both quite tired now.

Granny Taffy has been quite poorly the last couple of weeks following a vestibular episode; we are pleased to report that it turned out that she was not, in fact, preparing to leave us just yet (combination of willpower and stovies kept her going until her world stabilised, and she's now doing very well, hurrah). Today I bought her a nice new bed, same as the old one but bigger. She doesn't seem entirely convinced.

Another brilliant weekend training with Collydam Gundogs . This weekend Maud was an honorary clumber (thank you Jackpotstud Clumber Spaniels for inviting us along) - we're really looking forward to going back in a few weeks for a day organised by the Welsh Springer Spaniel club of south Wales. Who's going to join us?!

What with one thing and another, the tent stayed in the attic this summer. But Maud and I had 2 days out last week on the North Yorkshire moors (not the fiery bit!) with a friend, and very nice it was too. Granny Taffy stayed home to mind the fort.

We hope that everyone is managing with this warm weather. Mostly we are lounging around indoors while She earns the money that keeps us in the style to which we are accustomed, but today we went paddling and now we smell of swamp. A good day.

Proud of Maud's lad Gwilym who has passed his KC Silver Good Citizen test. Also, if you need an Elvis impersonator then his rates are very reasonable.
