February:
•Puppy Candidate Cheeto was rescued through 3R K9 Search Foundation and raised with them through our KK9 Affiliate Trainer Program.

March:
•K9 Qubit graduated from Kaiser K9 and began a career in explosives detection with Alpha Public Safety & Consulting in Georgia.
• K9 Sassafras (KK9 Pilot Puppy Program graduate, National Disaster Search Dog Foundation graduate) achieved FEMA Live-Find USAR certification with CA-TF3.
•K9 Leslie (KK9 2019 Litter, National Disaster Search Dog Foundation graduate) achieved FEMA Live-Find USAR recertification with CA-TF4.

April:
•K9 Hawthorne (KK9 2021 Litter) graduated from National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and was assigned to CA-TF2/USA-2.
•Puppy Candidate Thomas was recruited from TK Hot Retrievers in Idaho.

May:
•K9 Retter graduated from Kaiser K9 and began a career in narcotics detection and tracking with Sykesville Police Department in Maryland.

June:
•K9 Hugo (KK9 graduate, National Disaster Search Dog Foundation graduate) achieved FEMA Live-Find USAR certification with NE-TF1.

August:
•K9 Cheeto graduated from 3R K9 Search Foundation via our KK9 Affiliate Trainer Program and was donated to MO-TF1.

October:
•Hurricane Milton Deployment: 4 Kaiser K9 graduates deployed-
Penn Vet Working Dog Center Graduates K9 Casey (NJ-TF1) and K9 Ross (NJ-TF1)
KK9 Pilot Puppy Program Graduates and National Disaster Search Dog Foundation Graduates K9 Sassafras (CA-TF3) and K9 Alder (OK-TF1)
•K9 Thomas graduated from KK9 and remains in the program.
•K9 Thomas achieved AMPWDA Basic Mantrailing Certification with KK9 President and Co-Founder Emily Kaiser.

November:
•Puppy Candidate Urwin was rescued and recruited from Chesapeake Dogs and Cats Inc in Maryland.

December:
•K9 Casey (KK9 2019 Litter, Penn Vet Working Dog Center graduate) achieved FEMA Live-Find USAR recertification with NJ-TF1.

In addition, Kaiser K9 celebrates the graduation of 5 K9s from the Penn Vet Working Dog Center who were bred through a collaborative effort between PVWDC and KK9:
•K9 Wagner- Accelerant Detection with Norristown Fire Department
•K9 Watson- Accelerant Detection with Conshohoken Fire Department
•K9 Weaver- Explosives Detection with Arlington County Sheriff’s Office
•K9 Whelan- USAR with FL-TF1
•K9 Wren- USAR with Halifax TF-5

Excellent news from the ophthalmologist 👀- Urwin’s eyes look great, no structural abnormalities or causes for concern. ❤️

As trainers, it is our responsibility to ensure that the puppies in our care receive the best treatment possible, and that means addressing any and all medical concerns prior to developing and implementing any training plans.

Now that we have the most complete medical picture we can make sure that Urwin learns with the right resources and methods.

It certainly takes a village to Raise Tomorrow’s Heroes. 💪 This Thanksgiving, we are so incredibly thankful for the excellent medical care Urwin received at Eye Care for Animals - Annapolis, MD Defense Hwy and for all of you for making our mission possible.

Thank you to everyone who previously donated to support Urwin’s hearing test. This little noodle went to the specialist today and took a little nap and they confirmed he is completely bilaterally deaf. We have one more big vet visit coming up this week to check his eyesight as hearing and vision problems occasionally come hand in hand. We know this time of year can be hard but anything you can give would be so incredibly appreciated. ❤️

On the plus side, this guy is so very brave, so very driven, and has been loving learning how to learn! Being different does not slow him down! 🤩

Thank you as always to Dr. Covert and the staff at Pikesville Animal Hospital for keeping Tomorrow’s Heroes in tip top shape! The newest member of the team, Urwin, as well as Stark received wellness exams and vaccinations to keep them healthy! 💪

Thank you also everyone who donated to Urwin’s hearing test, it is scheduled at the specialty hospital in a couple weeks!

🎉 Please join us in welcoming the newest Hero Of Tomorrow- Urwin!

Urwin and his siblings were found as strays in Prince George's County, Maryland at only 5 weeks old. Unfortunately for them, this county has a breed ban for any "pit bull-type" dogs and they were all slated for euthanization. Thankfully, Chesapeake Cats and Dogs was able to step in and take them into their care and save their lives.

Urwin is a very special guy, not only because he has very intense food drive and has loved all the work we've shown him thus far, but because he is also presumed deaf (pending testing). Being deaf doesn't get this guy down- he is fearless and, ironically, his favorite activity is jumping on and climbing on things that make a ton of noise and playing with loud rattling objects.

We are thrilled to have Urwin in our program and are excited to help him become the hero he was born to be! 💪

K9s Casey and Ross were activated with NJ-TF1 in response to Hurricane Milton. Born one year apart, Casey and Ross are full brothers born to become superheroes here at Kaiser K9, Inc. At 8 weeks old, they were lovingly donated to Penn Vet Working Dog Center. In a beautiful twist of fate, these brothers and their handlers now work side by side, responding to disasters to save lives.

We continue to keep all those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in our thoughts. ❤️
