Countdown to the PCKC Show Weekend -- it's September 7 and 8 at the MARC in Merrill.
What's happening:
· AKC All-Breed Dog Shows

· Supported Entry with Sweepstakes by the Borzoi Club of America, Inc.

· 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition (on Saturday)

· P*e Wee Special Attraction (on Sunday)

· Obedience/Rally Trials (two trials on Saturday; one on Sunday)

· Fast CAT Tests (new this year) -- Saturday and Sunday, with Fun Runs on Saturday after 2:00 PM

· Heart and Eye Clinics on Saturday

· Huge Raffle on Saturday – a portion of the proceeds to benefit Paws Enforcing Laws (a privately-funded Marathon County Sheriff’s Department program; zero tax dollars used)

Pre-entry for Fast CAT closes on Friday, August 30, at 6:00 PM CDT. However, day-of-test entries will be taken at the show site. Fun Runs on Saturday, after 2:00 PM.

No experience/no training is needed to enter -- if your dog(s) love to chase bunnies or other things, they will probably love Fast CAT!! And the track is completely fenced in. Mixed Breed Dogs welcome!

"What is Fast CAT® – which stands for Coursing Ability Test (FCAT) – is a relatively new sport by AKC. Dogs run one at a time, over a timed 100-yard dash chasing a lure, and get AKC titles based upon points earned. Points are earned based upon a combination of miles per hour and handicap. Handicap is based upon the height of the dog. FCAT provides a terrific opportunity to introduce new participants to the world of AKC sports as one of the few events where all that is needed to compete is a dog’s natural instincts."

Paper Cities Kennel Club handmade ribbons being giving out for FAST Cat on September 7th & 8th!

Fast CAT – which stands for Coursing Ability Test – is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. It’s over before you know it — and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring to watch your dog run at top speed, ears back, eyes focused, legs strong. And if your dog is really fast, you might earn bragging rights if their name makes onto the AKC list of top 20 fastest dogs by breed! ALL DOGS 1 year or older can participate in Fast CAT, whether purebred or mixed breed. You do need an AKC registration number or an AKC PAL number which you can get by going to AKC website. By having a registration number the AKC can keep track of your dog's records of speed achievement and titles!

Norah ran at The Paper Cities Kennel Club, Inc. Fast Cat today. A little over 21 MPH! Not bad for a 160 # girl!

These cuties are 6 weeks old already! Getting more personality everyday! Went to Veterinary Village today for their 1st vet check, shots & microchip. They all are looking great! 13-15lbs! We will be working on building confidence and crate training this week. 6 week pictures were a challenge. They all were afraid of the table this week!

It's been a busy week! Their eyes have opened, their ears have opened, they've started walking, they've started using the potty pad, and today on their 3 week birthday they've starting eating solids! They are over 6 lbs. I think the will need to stand on their own next week!

Nina gave birth to 4 lovely puppies today! C-section done at Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital in MN. 2 boys and 2 girls!!
