Tonight I have the privilege of announcing my promotion to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. My journey began 12 years ago. The art has taught me perseverance and discipline. It is always humbling while confidence building. The journey to black belt has been a long one; but trust me when I tell you that this is only the beginning. I'm grateful for my wife Kayla Wooderson for supporting me and taking care of our newborn baby. My father Dale Wooderson who drove me to my first competition and to all those wrestling practices years ago. Most of all I'm grateful for the Kansas City Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Community who has given me so much more than just places to train and partners to train with. Thank you Marcos Cunha for putting the final touches on my game and answering all my questions regarding rules and strategies. We are only just getting started!
