Here's the noses of two deer I'm working on at the moment. Same family, different species, and a real contrast in their muzzles.

I was very sad to hear that brilliant taxidermist George Jamieson has died. I didn't know him well, but whenever I met him he was always kind, welcoming and generous with both his time and knowledge. I spent a memorable day in his workshop mounting a partridge, and learnt so much. Photo 3 is of the sketch/outline from that day, that George felt should always be step 1 of a project. I pinned it up to remind myself, along with my notes of tips and suggestions from him, and I refer back to it regularly. I had planned to go back to learn about mounting game heads. I'm sad that I've missed my chance. Sending love to all who knew him personally.

A caution: chinchillas have the most incredible soft fur, but it is an absolute magnet for grease from your hands, so I would strongly warn against stroking it. Ideally this toot would go safely in a cabinet away from dust and temptation to touch! £200+p&p, message me if you might be interested
