We are heartbroken to hear the news that sweet Dexter has crossed the rainbow bridge last week.

We have been caring for the gentle giant since 2017 and there are no words to describe how special he was.

Dexter accompanied me to work, on hikes, charity events and rescue events with Homeward Bound Rescue.

He had his favourite couch in our home that was always known as “Dexter’s Couch”

I have probably thousands of photos of this guy over the years. Great Danes always have a special place in my heart and he was by far the biggest one I had ever met.

He loved everything and anything (except stairs) and most of all, he loved snuggling and cuddling. Dexter thought he was a tiny, little lap dog. Haha

So many wonderful memories with this big guy. He will be so greatly missed.

🔥🥵With the weather forecast this week, it looks like we have some hot days coming our way🥵🔥

For the safety of the dogs in my care, walks this week may be reduced in duration or cancelled

We will be taking extra shade and water breaks and also frequently checking the asphalt to ensure it isn’t too hot for those precious dog paws 🐾

It can be overwhelming finding someone to trust to help you care for your pets. The pet care industry is full of people with different points of view and approaches to their businesses. As a pet parent, how do you choose who to go to when you need support?

I have been working on surrounding myself with a community of business owners who are in their field because of their love for animals and who strive to support their clients and collaborate with other pet care professionals to provide the best possible services.

Three of these businesses are The Animal Hospital on Bell Farm Road, Liana’s Pet Services, and DoggieLicious. I highly recommend them all.

Dr Singh (a.k.a Doc Bowtie) at Animal Hospital On Bell Farm Road practices because of his love for animals and it shows with the amount of attention and care he gives to each and every patient that comes through his doors. This is also where The Dog Training Studio that I am teaching classes at is based out of.

Liana's Pet Services takes Pepper out on a walk once a week, and her dog walking business is amazing. Her number one concern in her workday is doing what is best for the dogs in her care.

DoggieLicious is our favourite place to attend scent trials because of the positive atmosphere the staff and volunteers create. Julia, the owner, is big on supporting everyone around her which shows in the dedication her employees have to their hard work.
