🦮🐾Ella’s feeling great after her chiropractic session yesterday! Shout out to Dr Neal Sivula DVM at Dancing Paws Animal Wellness Center. She was jumping up at me while we were walking. Something she hasnt done in a while. 💜🦮
I went to a holistic vet today for some chiropractic and acupuncture work to help relieve my Ella’s arthritis. She was so comfortable the whole time and was even giving paw to get pets from the tech and vet! She has NEVER done that at a conventional vets office!
The girls are ganging up on him, but don’t worry he deserves it! He’s ornery!
I am starting a garden to have fresher food not only for myself but my dogs also! BUT who said I don’t have to do it with style 😍 I’m obsessed with the colors and so excited to see how it all turns out!
If you want to start fresh feeding, but you’re just not sure where to start and you’re afraid that the meal wont be balanced don’t let that stop you. Balancing over time is completely acceptable for adult, healthy dogs, and it should be fun and simple. Once you understand a few of the basics of how to feed and what to feed then you can effectively feed your dog, and you’ll be giving them a great diet that will help improve their health and allow them to thrive instead of just survive. Feeding different types of proteins and also even just different cuts of the protein give different nutrient profiles and by switching these up in each meal you can effectively balance over time. If you have questions about what you’re currently feeding, drop a comment!
Puppies waiting patiently for their morning meal! I had a bit left over from a client order and of course they are my taste testers. They gave it 5 stars! I love the color the beats gave the meal. Beats are great addition to a meal or as a topper for your dog food. Beets are rich in antioxidants which help detox the body and support the liver, they have anti-inflammatory properties, and they aid in digestion and improving skin and coat.
Love getting snuggles from my big guy! So glad he came into our lives. #rescuedog #doglover #doglovers
I have a client who adopted a dog, and they would not eat, at all! the rescue that had her was at a loss. I had gone and donated some treats, bone broth, puppy pads, and blankets and her dogs loved my treats. She called me and said she could not get this dog to eat and she would like to try fresh food. I gave her 3 days of food free for her to try and she loved it. Abby got adopted and the new owner continued to use my food. Unfortunately, Abby no longer likes the raw. So we are trying something new. I cooked for her and she liked it. So that worked for a while but now she’s getting tired of that. Now I am trying these chicken sausages. This is a balanced meal that she can feed as a treat so win win! It’s so hard when you have picky dogs. I am fortunate to have three garbage disposals 🤣 but the stress of finding food that picky dogs will eat can be overwhelming. I work with my clients to ensure everyone is happy because stress can cause many health issues. If a dog is exposed to chronic stress (the dogs stress or the owners) this can cause Cushing’s. I help my clients find relief from that stress in any way I can to help support the dog! Let me know if you have any questions about how to work with a picky dog. #doglover #dogrecipes #dogsofinstagram #doglife
We had to put the dogs in the fence so they didn’t get run over while we are tearing down some bushes and trees with machinery. They were locked up for 20 minutes and this is how they act 🤣
Fresh food helps improve the lives of our pets tremendously! Two major aspects that fresh food helps address is improving hydration and reducing inflammation. Our dogs are made of about 70% water and water is used in every metabolic function in our dog’s body. Reducing inflammation is crucial to support our dogs as they age. This is a typical meal that I would make or formulate for my clients. I follow rough ratios of 50% muscle meat, 25% muscular organ (heart, lung, gizzards), 12-15% raw meaty bones, 8% second secreting organ (kidney is usually the easiest to find), 2-5% liver and then I add in extras such as fish, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds. Balancing with whole foods is so simple and shouldn’t be scary. I want to help others understand we don’t need to fear making food at home for our dogs. We follow a few basic principles and the rest will do the work!
🐕 When you’ve been gone for 2 hours, but your baby thinks you’ve been gone all day.
Walks in the back yard are my dogs favorite activity. But we have lots of woods and ticks. I use natural alternatives for flea and ticks. I give garlic in my dogs food a few times a week and I pull dead ticks off them! If you want to find out more about natural flea and tick alternatives let me know! #doglover #dogmom #dogmomlife #dogsofinstagram #doglovers #dogoftheday #instadog #doglove
Dolly came to me from the shelter with periodontal disease. As soon as I got her home, I started feeding raw meaty bones. Just 1 month later, I took her to the vet and the periodontal disease was gone. Her vet said her teeth look great! A healthy dog, starts with a healthy mouth! #dogdentalhygiene #dogsofinsta
