The last Social Walk of 2025 is at 1pm on Sunday 7th December 🐾🧁🎄☕️🍰

These events gets booked up very quickly so payment IS required at the time of booking!

This kind of structured socialisation is vital for helping reactive dogs & owners become more confident, well-adjusted, and better equipped to handle various social situations, which minimises overwhelming experiences that can trigger reactive behavior. There will be 3 trainers on hand to help owners learn effective techniques to manage and support their dog’s behavior.
Booking is essential. £10 per dog and handler, any extra humans are £5, hot chocolate drinks, cakes or mince pies & a treat bag courtesy of Top Dog Treat Box Co. are provided, the route is approximately 5-6 miles over easy ground on a flat surface (no hills or stiles).

Dog Trainer Fashion: A Look Nobody Asked For
🐾🥶🫶🏼😂

This season’s hottest trend? Functional chaos with a hint of eau-de-dog.

✨ Headwear:
A stylishly distressed hat, complete with that signature Vicks VapoRub stain. Not a fashion choice—just the only thing standing between you and a swarm of midges with boundary issues.

👖 Leggings:
Baggy at the knees, because they’ve been through more sits, downs, and “oh god, not the fox poo” squats than any normal fabric should. Consider them “pre-stretched for convenience.”

🦶 Footwear:
Flat feet courtesy of wearing wellies or boots 24/7. Arch support? Never met her. But can we pivot on wet grass like a pro? Absolutely.

🌬️ Complexion:
A chapped, wind-weathered face that says, “Yes, I work outside in all seasons. No, SPF was not enough.” The glow is 80% resilience, 20% extreme gusts.

🧥 Outerwear:
A coat with pockets so cavernous and chaotic they could qualify as a portal. Contents include: three slightly furry treats, two slip leads, six crumpled poo bags, and one mystery item you’re scared to investigate.

🐶 Finishing Touches:
A delicate misting of dog snot from a thousand joyful kisses, plus muddy paw prints arranged in an avant-garde pattern. Couture could never.

Little update on Kane 💙🐾………..

He’s been here 4 days, his loose lead walking is brilliant! We’ve been working a lot on his reactivity with other dogs, he will walk calmly with another dog he’s been carefully introduced to and isn’t lunging at others when he sees them. His impulse control is much better, reducing his emotional overload and helping him to make better choices, he’s much more predictable, promoting calm behaviour while allowing desensitisation and exposure to other dogs to take place.
So from a dog that was unable to be walked safely in public, to a lovely happy boy that is confidently handled by an 8 year old little girl 🫶🏼💙🐾

Meet Kane 💙🐾
He’s the most amazing young Cane Corso (approx 10-12 months) with a huge heart 🫶🏼
Picked up as a stray with a broken leg & DIY cropped ears 😩❤️‍🩹
He is with us for a short residential stay to improve his manners, loose lead walking and to work on his slight dog reactivity (he hasn’t got a clue how to interact).
Quick to learn, full of affection and slobbery kisses, he is clever and he’s fast to understand the boundaries we are implementing. It won’t take long at all until he’s ready for his own sofa and human to drool on and snuggle up to.
We would love for him to have his own home and we will continue to support him on his journey when he leaves us.
He is currently in foster under the care of Pendle Dogs.(anyone wanting to support the cost of his rehab needs to contact us) 🥰🐾

Just for clarity, I’ll explain why we regularly use a correction collar when dealing with reactive or extremely strong high drive dogs.
The French ring correction collar is designed for precise corrections during training, particularly for obedience and control. It allows the handler to communicate effectively with a high-drive, strong dog without causing harm or sustained discomfort.
These collars can be as used with just a quick “pop” to help you have a conversation with the dog, also to keep the dog’s focus and attention at heel while under distraction.
The tool is only as harsh as the hands that are using it. We have over 200 dogs every month through our gates and 75% of them are here because they are very reactive and have a bite history. We don’t always use one but the dogs that are referred here are usually one step away from PTS.
If you think that a dog being surrendered because the owner can’t cope or worse still euthanised is ok, as their behaviour is out of control then that’s your sh*tty opinion .
If you educate your dog and teach them well, they won’t ever suffer at the hands of anyone if you need to rehome them. They won’t be the one stuck in a rescue shelter because they can’t be handled easily or returned to the breeder who can’t then rehome a big dog with zero manners!!
Education saves lives, if you don’t agree then feel free to block me and f**k off ☺️
Rant over. Enjoy your day 🐾

Please be aware that Barden Lane is closed from the Marina to Greenhead Lane for work after a bridge strike. Access from Barrowford Road and Greenhead Lane is open as usual, your journey will take a little longer due to the amount of chaos it’s causing 🙈
