It’s been awhile but I wanted to give you an update. LuLu turned 14 last week. She is, of course, much slower, but she’s still as active as she can be at her age. Her Labrador appetite is still intact. She still makes me crazy at meal time and treat time with all of her barking. She continues to have occasional seizures, although her vet says they are short as far as seizures go. LuLu, Penny, and Mowgli celebrated her big day with Frosty Paws!

Penny has a job now. Lucky is blind and deaf and, therefore, has severe separation anxiety. Sometimes, the kid who Lucky lives with needs to go into the office instead of working from home. Or, sometimes, she just wants to or needs to leave the house. Penny has been going to her house and “babysitting”. She is such a gentle soul that she calms Lucky and helps tremendously with his anxiety.

Penny here: At my human sister’s house, I get to sleep on the couch. And I get tucked in like a burrito.

Penny here: It’s been awhile since we’ve posted, but I wanted to share this picture of me and my new friend. One of our kids just bought a house and adopted Lucky. We met for the first time today. Lucky is completely deaf and mostly blind so I need to be gentle with him. I’m pretty good at gentle so we are getting along just fine! Together we are a Lucky Penny!

How do you not fall madly in love with this face!! Mowgli is adjusting well. He and Penny have become thick as thieves! He weighs three times as much as Penny, but she has figured out that he is a gentle giant and his barks and pounces are all in good fun so they chase around and really enjoy each other. Penny here: I spent some time at the vet clinic on Tuesday. I had been experience some pain in my back end. They don’t if it was my tail, hips, legs, feet and I’m not talking. I am on anti-inflammatories and bed rest for a couple of days. I am SOOO okay with bed rest! (FYI...I’m already feeling much better! My tail is wagging again and I’m no longer whimpering when I move.)
