One tuxedo had their eyes open about 2 hours after being born. If I didn't see this myself then I wouldn't believe it since he is ahead of schedule by a lot!!!
These pics are 1 Dat old. 3 kittens have their eyes open well. 2 are closed (one is getting close to opening and 1 isn't interested) and 1 is partially open.
I'm not sure what it is with duchess' babies as they always open their eyes early. This litter and the last one both started within hours of birth!!!

Duchess is very happy cuddling her SIX kittens :) we have 2 definite munchkins and 2 definite longer legs. The black/charcoal kittens seem to be one of each, but it seems like 1 is short and another is in between. Those two aren't as short or as tall as the rest haha. Time will tell :)

**we are now at 6 babies! Number 3 was a tuxedo born at 4:50am. My shift ended then and I went to bed! Number 4 was a black(or charcoal like she likes to have that match dad) kitten born at 7:23 am. Number 5 was born just before noon and was another little black kitten. Number 6 was born at 2:30 pm and is a little tuxedo again!**

Our wonderful milo from last year's summer litter has a clone! At 2:27 am, duchess had her first kitten! A little orange and white boy. He seems short! But we will wait and compare him to his siblings that are currently VERY active dancing in momma's belly :)

Duchess went into labor yesterday evening and was making progress at about 1015pm. Unfortunately she stalled with little progress for the next 6 hours. The amniotic sac was partially out the whole time and poor duchess just wanted to nap with her big kitties. We were very worried for this little one, but he amazed us all and came out nice and healthy! He is a big boy though!!! With a crazy long tail too!!

Now Duchess is doing her momma stuff while her 4 month and 10 month (milo) old kittens take care of her ❤️❤️❤️

(I also hear a lot of nursing going on and will likely find 3 different size kitties nursing when I check)

**and at 2:42 duchess wasted no time having kitten #2! The newest baby is a long legged calico sweet girl :)
This also confirms that baby boy #1 is in fact a munchkin as I thought :)

Francie is helping her momma calm down and get ready to push out some kittens ❤️

Duchess did start getting mean to the babies for the past 2 weeks like usual. Francie is loving having her mommas attention again!

We have only two little kittens left available. They are both munchkins ❤️

Frances (francie as a nick name)is the little girl, and was born late at night Jan 5th.
Teddy Bear (bear for short) is our little boy who was born early Jan 6th!

How cool is that having 2 birthdays in the same litter :)
Another cool fact is that these kittens opened their eyes at just under 1 full day old!! Their other 2 siblings that went to their forever homes already, opened their eyes at only a couple hours old! Typically kittens open their eyes at about 2 weeks old. Duchess' kittens are always early, but usually open between 5-7 days old. Earliest I've ever seen before this litter was 3 days. I couldn't believe it!!!

The little girl is our little tuxedo genetta (bengalxmunchkin). Her dark color is the black on black Bengal stripes like her dad, which is a great contrast to her whole :)
The little boy is a super cute black munchkin.

They have completely stollen our hearts!!!

If you are looking for a kitty to be independent and keep to themselves, these are NOT the babies for you. They demand cuddles nearly 24/7!!! They are both OBSESSED with treats and are already learning some tricks and manners, such as sit, stay, gentle, and not stealing food. They are doing very well, but we are still working on it haha.
They are litter box trained and are fully weaned. They have dry food out all day and get wet food at dinner time. They play super well with all other cats and kittens, guinea pigs, and kids and adults of all ages :)

They are the two most snuggly kittens requiring to snuggle pressed up against you (usually in the crook of your neck) all night.

We were hoping for Christmas kittens, but are getting new years babies instead! Duchess is in labor and is at the stage where she gets very upset the moment we stop petting her!

There is often a very heated debate on adopt vs shop. We believe that both sides of the debate have their place.
We breed munchkins because they are a wonderful and relatively new breed. We believe there should be more of them in the world! And for some, rescuing can be difficult and full of many unknowns.
We have also been rescuing cats for nearly 15 years! Most of our cats, including our current momma duchess, are rescues. It's best to not breed a munchkin and a munchkin together, so after thorough health checks, we found duchess to be a perfect candidate for us - firstly being our family. We have been working with a local rescue for a few years and have now started our own rescue.
Our momma cats and munchkins have helped us with this on more than one occasion!
Our current family of 5 kittens and duchess have accepted a newborn into their group that was rejected from a foster we have who only accepted 6 of her kittens.
We are very thankful for our cattery to be able to help in our rescue efforts to make sure that all animals are safe and loved.

Mochi (the tortie in the box) is duchess' first munchkin baby. She is just over 5 months old. She was super upset while we had a foster kitten-even more so that her mommy cat took in the baby as her own. Now that the foster baby has gone to her furrever home, mochi is over the moon and extra cuddly with her mommy cat and siblings.
It is the cutest thing when she plays with her little brothers and sister. She hops around and acts like they are attacking her while being super gentle, meanwhile they can't even walk yet. She is an amazing big sister and I'm sure will be a huge help to duchess and all of our future munchkins!

We have a beautiful calico, 2 tuxedo boys (we believe so far) , and a little black on black Bengal boy.

5 little babies. 2 tuxedo, a calico, an orange and white one, and a dark one that is fresh and getting cleaned up. 2 seem short and 2 tall. Still waiting for the newest one to get all dry and fluffy before observing too much.
