Rascal Flatts was much needed after the loss of my first furbaby, Shorty Macaroni. He came into my life when I needed him most. Rascal had many names like Di**le Dangle that his grandma gave him (because of his collar w/tags) also Peep Squeak that his uncle gave him (not sure why) He was grandmas Baby Boy. She would spoil him rotten. When he wanted attention he wouldn’t eat unless she or his uncle fed him with a fork. When he would come to his grandma’s he would run looking for his disabled uncle. Lay with him and cuddle. He was my passenger and always loved looking out the window watching others drive by. He was much loved and will be missed by us all. ❤️

We had to let our Sadie Lynn go this morning. She's been living with a huge tumor on her backside for months and this week it got the best of her. She was born at the foot of our bed 6 months before we got married, so nearly 10 1/2 years with us. She's been there for a marriage, two states, four homes and two kiddos. This girl left us with some stories to tell! That's probably true for all family pets, but I'm talking Rocky Mountain 4 am search parties, a frozen lake diving rescue, highway chases. And running, always running.... sometimes from something like fireworks, sometimes for something like chickens and cats, sometimes just running to run. My fav story though is how she came to be in this world. She and her brother were the last litter of 2 from her mama Dezzie Mae, who was the original queen of the house. We were living in the mountains and Derek tells me there had been a dog hanging around our cabin all day and he and Dezzie were trying to get to each other. I get home from work, he's still there and Dezzie looks down right exasperated. Annoyed, I open the sliding glass doors to yell at this dog to get away from my little girl. Dezzie Mae PUSHES me to the side and knocks me down and heads strait into the woods to do the thing with this wild and majestic husky/wolf looking hybrid. I find them and try to scold them for their activities but it's too late. Best I could do is call the number on his collar. When the owner got there he assured me that despite what it looks like.... his dog is fixed. A few months later we had Sadie Lynn and Finn, and I never got the chance to tell the guy he should get his money back from the vet.
Anyway, all that is to say.... Sadie Lynn was naturally wild, but she was an amazing kids dog, just so sweet and lovey. The gratitude I have for her for being so incredibly gentle and patient with both my babies will last a lifetime. Sleep so sweet beautiful Sadie, find that precious mama of yours. We will take the best care of Finn, he won't be the same and neither will we. We love you and will see you later.

Ruby Gayle Wetzel
Mar 28, 2013-June 25, 2024
We were blessed with Ruby on Thursday, Oct 13, 2016. At the young age of 3, she had been kicked by a horse 3 times, hit by a car, and had buckshot in her. She was a bolter. She only weighed 44 pounds, skinny but mighty!
We were on our way to the doctor, when I saw a woman walking a little boxer. I asked her where she got that beautiful little boxer. (You could tell it wasn’t good, she had her on a horse rope). She told us her friend gave her the dog. I asked her if she planned to keep her, and she just shrugged her shoulders. My husband said, “I’ll give you $100 for her,” and she said yes.
We were thrilled! When we went to pick her up, she jumped in the truck in Don’s lap.
That night, Don said, “Come on, Ruby, let’s go to bed.” She ran and jumped on our bed & laid down. We stood there laughing, but with my feet & leg problems she had to sleep in her kennel. I told Don, “If anything ever happens with either one of us, she sleeps with the remaining one.”
One week later, Thur. Oct 20, 2016, God called Don home. Heart attack. I sat, wondering what to do and thinking I can’t keep Ruby. She needs a man to take on walks and play with her. God spoke to me. All he said was, “Keep the dog.”
Ruby Gayle was definitely a God send! She helped me through the roughest part of my life. She loved me as much as I loved her. We shared the same pillow. I would hold her in my arms and tell her just how special she was and how we acquired her. She understood everything I said to her. She was very smart.
Ruby was always active. I was out one day and my son checked on her, she had carried 5 rolls of toilet paper into the living room. That was 5 trips from bathroom to living room. She would unroll toilet paper to the living room. She never tore it up. Just laid beside it so proud of herself.
She carried a big bottle of Downey into the living room(thank goodness she couldn’t get it open). She carried the heavy dictionary into the living room, she was improving her vocabulary, I’m sure. We were wishing I had a camera in the house. She was always busy.
I bought a tufted bench to go under the picture window, right away she jumped up on it. I just put a blanket on it & she could lay her head on the window sill and look out.
She would grab toothbrushes or anything out of your hand and under the bed she went. That was one of her favorite games.
Her diet consisted of all green veggies. She loved broccoli and all greens. Fruit, strawberries, bananas, oranges, apples-all fruit-no sugar or grapes.
All my family loved her and she loved them.
Ruby had cancer, the vet told me I could probably get a couple years out of her. I was blessed with 4 more good years. She tore her ACL in both legs. Due to her age 11 years and my age 84 years, they were skeptical about me being able to lift her. She was in a lot of pain. I had to realize if I was keeping her here for me or for her. I had to use my head instead of my heart. I was her 5th home. I miss her terribly, but I will not get another critter. First time in my life my life I live all alone except for God’s care and love, but I miss something to hold in my arms and love. The Lord knew after 57 years with my precious husband that I did not want a man in life, so he gave me Ruby Gayle.
Her mission was completed.

Capone was such a gentle Giant! Everyone who met him instantly fell in love! He loved to cuddle, lounge on the tanning ledge in the pool, and LOVED spending time at the lake! Although, he was not fond of the life jacket that momma made him wear! lol We definitely miss our sweet boy and the house is not the same since he has crossed the rainbow bridge but we cannot wait until the day we see him again!

Oso was blind the last couple of years of his life but his sense of smell and sight got stronger. He followed me from room to room and knew the parameters of the house and yard as he did when he had sight.

Over 9 years ago on May 4th, I rescued Chloe when she was just a few weeks old. She’s been by my side through everything, including 2 military moves. She was the sweetest girl and was greatly loved by everyone who met her, especially by me. On August 5th I had to make the sudden and devastating decision to lose, grieve and miss my best friend forever.

We received Coco when we were stationed on Guam. She came from a jack Russell line that was utilized as a working dog on base to curb the amount of brown tree snakes on the flight line. She was surrendered to us due to neglect. As the years passed she has been all around the world and had an eventful life. She was loved dearly and will be missed deeply.

A few pics of Bo from past to his last picture few days before I had to make a decision that will forever be a hole in my heart. 💔
Bo was 10 yrs old. He was the best dog, all he ever wanted was petting, and his dog biscuits.
He’ll be missed💔

Tip would have been 13 in November. A couple of weeks ago I had to make one of the hardest decisions ever. I cried for a week straight, hoping I make the right choice. He was a crazy energetic boy but was also well behaved. He lived a great life & always had whatever he wanted. RIP Tippy you will forever be loved.

Thank you so much Wichita Valley yall did a great job with Tip. 💙🐶

Cowboy was 16 years old, he had grown deaf and blind and had little age cancer spots all over his sweet body but even as he began to decline he still showed so much life and love. He was my children’s first pet and of course our first passing. I want to thank you both for your kindness from the first text and call I made . You both made this easier on our hearts and we will never be able to thank you for your kindness and compassion. We did not lose our pet, we lost a family member. As we are still mourning our loss, the beautiful memories you have provided us are above any expectation we had. The attention to detail was very much appreciated and simply beautiful. You have given us pieces we will forever cherish.

Tinky ❤️
Not enough words to be said about the sweet life of our precious girl. She lived a full life of 16 years!!! She was loved by all that came around. She was a social butterfly that was raised in my purse by my side and attended many family events. She saw us through pregnancies and bringing our girls home and half raised. She was always snuggled next to someone and hated to be alone even till the day she passed. She will never be forgotten we will always love her!!! ❤️

One day, this tiny kitty walked up on my porch to be fed. This was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
She nested into my life as if she always belonged.
Losing my darling kitten opened my eyes to the fact that no matter how hard of a time I’m having, I need to still show my animals love and compassion, because they aren’t here for long but manage to have the biggest impact on my live with their personalities and love. My pets are like children to me, my fur babies… my fur babies that can be taken from me at a moments notice. Can be gone from my life so very quickly, as quickly as they walked in…
Thank you Midnight for adding such beautiful unique light into my life, losing you is like losing a piece of my heart I’ll never get back, but it’s a piece of my heart I would have never had until I had you.
Cross the rainbow bridge my kitten, I’ll see you again one day. I love you.

03/07/2024

When Zoey came into our lives a little over 14 years ago I had no idea how much we would love this little princess. She literally stole our hearts. She was part of everything we did. She loved to be rocked like a baby by her daddy, take naps with her mom, and could always convince her brother to take her outside to scope out every inch of the yard. She loved her breakfast bowls in the morning, chasing squirrels , and thought she was the neighborhood watch dog. I never took her anywhere where people didn’t fall in love with her. Losing her, which happened fairly quickly, has been one of the hardest things we have endured. She was loved so much and a huge piece of our hearts is missing. I can’t thank Dr. House at Animal Hospital enough for her kindness and patience with us during all of this and Wichita Valley Pet Cremation for handling our sweet baby with such care and compassion. They will truly never know how much they have meant to us! ❤️

My family and I were leaving church, on a cold and rainy Sunday 7 and a half years ago . My husband put the car in reverse and i immediately saw her. A tiny, soaking wet kitten, probably the prettiest one I had ever seen, standing behind our car. Much to my husbands dismay, I jumped out of the car to rescue her. lol. I wrapped her in my jacket and kept her warm. When we got home we noticed she was very sick. We rushed her to the vet and got her meds, and continued to fight an upper respiratory infection for the next two months. The vet was not sure she would make it, but she did, she was a fighter !
She quickly claimed my daughter as her human. When she was a foster , she attacked everyone but her. We think that was her way of saying she was ours and we were hers.

She had the sweetest trill instead of a meow, and never hesitated to let us know when she was ready to eat. She had the most personality of any cat we’ve ever seen, and would often slow blink at us , to let us know she approved of our existence. Sometimes she would sit and close her eyes and keep them closed , probably bc she thought we couldn’t see her that way.

She was always in the walkway, and of course WE were always in HER way, not the other way around.

Eventually she came to love all of us, choosing a random person to be her “petter” for that moment, but always coming back to her mama. She was a mess, but she was so loved. She still remains the most beautiful in our eyes and probably always will be.

Letting her go was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, but we know she’s at peace and cancer free now. We sure miss you sweet girl. Rest easy, sweet Rain. ❤️

It was an easy decision when a couple of girls came up asking me if I wanted a puppy. He was my first dog and my best friend. He loved playing fetch and being outside chasing squirrels. It's not the same without him. After 13 years our hearts are breaking missing our sweet Buddy! Thank you Colonial Park Vet and Wichita Valley Pet for taking such great care of our boy.

Trouble was extremely tiny and very sickly when we adopted him from the humane society. He was just a little cuddle bug always had to be sitting with me, behind my head or right next to while I was eating and talking to me the whole time. He loved to be out side with his daddy but when I came home from work no one else existed. He was our baby and we still have a hard time some times but we just look up at him and he is right there. Thank you for taking such good care of him!

Willow, aka “Willow Pillow,” “Diva,” “Princess.”❤️We will love you forever baby girl. Our hearts are broken right now, but we have incredible memories starting with your adoption from a shelter in Oklahoma after you were found abandoned in a house there, and then riding on Carsen’s lap the whole way home when we picked you up from the shelter. You’ll never be forgotten Willow. Thank you to Wichita Valley Pet Cremation for your amazing care of our sweet girl. It means so much to us.

Bullseye has been with me for 14 years. Through marriage, becoming a mother, divorce, remodeling a home on my own, new pets, friendships, moving across the country, being a single parent. Happy times and sad. Good days and bad every single night no matter how tired. When I’d finally settle down and relax, there he was. My best friend. Every moment every memory he’s there for 14 years. He’s been the only stable thing in my life. Losing him was the hardest thing I have ever been through. Thank you for taking care of him as I would have if I could.

Marceline (Marcy) was one of the most loveable and unique cats that anyone would meet. She was a joy to be around. She never met a stranger and was the first to come greet anyone coming to visit us. Marcy was also one of the most curious creatures I’ve ever seen. Always getting into everything she could or just being in the way trying to help you do anything you were doing. We will all miss your soft purs and gently head butts. I will especially miss playing fetch with you since you played it better than any dog I’ve ever had. Though your time was short with us you left an unfillable hole in all our hearts. We love you and miss you little girl.
