House Victory! Folks, the House Budget was published this afternoon, and we are pleased to announce that the dog permit amendment (HB30 Item 367 ) was NOT included in the final budget for this year. Thank you to ALL who visited, called, and emailed our House Appropriations members about this. We could not do it without you!

Senate Finance meets later today and their budget will be published soon after. We will keep you posted once we are certain we have the final version.

Be sure to thank all the members of House Appropriations for voting NO on the dog permit, and don't forget to share the GREAT news with others!

WE DID IT! SB 712, the intentional trespass bill, did not pass in the Senate today, so it is done for. Thank you for all the phone calls, emails, and visits to our legislators. Together we stand! Thank you also to Senator Creigh Deeds who supported hound hunting and to Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears who cast the tie-breaking vote. Praise be to God! Please share!

HOUND STUDY URGENT: DWR has created a new page on their website regarding the Hound Study. The most interesting thing to note is that this page is not readily available on the DWR website. As of this morning:

It’s not listed under “Hunting.”
It’s not listed under “Notes from the Field.”
It’s not published as an article/press release.
It’s not found under "Public Comments” even though the page is soliciting comments.

The only way to find this information page is to have been given the specific URL that goes directly to the page. We know the landowners group already has that page, shared it with its members, and has been submitting comments at least since yesterday.

We can’t even count on DWR to implement this Hound Study process fairly. DWR claims this is a stakeholder-driven process, but one set of stakeholders -- the hound-hunters -- are being left out.
