New Zealand National Cavy Show 2023. Judged by Jens Lindgren & Darren Fieldhouse, all the way from Sweden 🇸🇪, hosted by Garden City Cavy Club.
Wonderful results & excellent feedback from the lovely judges. So rewarding & reassuring hearing the critiques from Judges of such high international standing. I’m particularly proud of the comments about the condition & presentation of my animals.
My Rex boar Oakleigh Acacia was awarded Best Rex, Best of Group Roughcoat, & 4th Best in Show!
Oakleigh Baobab placed Reserve of Breed.
My Black Dalmatian Boar achieved Best Dalmatian & Reserve Best Marked in Show.
Oakleigh Huia did well placing Reserve Best of Breed Dalmatian.
Griffin Hopkins had a wonderful team of Abyssinians, who achieved some great results.
Oakleigh Chaos, achieved Best of Breed Abyssinian, Reserve Best of Group Roughcoat & Reserve Best U5 in show!!
Oakleigh Kerfuffle won Reserve of Breed Abyssinian.
Griffin was also awarded Reserve Best Junior Exhibitor in Show! Griff would particularly like to thank Tempest Cavies, real proof that being patient & waiting for awesome stock from the best breeder really pays off!
It was such a great weekend, spent with wonderful people. Massive THANK YOU to Debbie, Stuart & Andy for doing the big drive & transporting our cavies safely there & back. Big congratulations to Josh Wilson-Jones of Claremont Cavies for winning the day with his beautiful Self Black! 🏆
