Today's totally normal but super cool celestial event and your pets...

We enjoy watching the sun and moon line up, but it can confuse and stress your pets. The sky gets darker at the wrong time, without the normal weather events like clouds and air presure changes that would make the dimming daylight make sense. Basically, the best thing is to just keep them inside. We won't have totality, so they won't necessarily be as upset as if everything went completely dark, but be ready for unusual behaviors. Depending on how dark it is, your birds might even put themselves to bed. If you are having a gathering to enjoy the eclipse, be aware that might also stress your pet due to the number of non-family members added to the strange things happening in the sky. There are eclipse glasses for pets, but the safest thing is really just to let them experience everything from the safety of their own home.

Finally, for yourself, make sure to watch the tree shadows!

Luna was hilarious with the laser pointer the other day, but I never got video of it. I did get some of us playing with her toy, though. Sharing that now since I didn't bevore.

Meatloaf loves lights, so I bring the laser pointer outside to get him running around and burn some energy. Sometimes Oliver and Holly join in. When I'm not trying to record and get them running, we just zoom around everywhere, top speed.

Well, well, well... look who finally decided to come bounding downstairs to join us all. We used to be best lunch buddies. I guess we are again. 😁
