It's with great sadness I'm posting the loss of the second Terror, JT, to heart failure. He fancied himself to be the Hand of the Queen, escorting Molly around the yard every time she went outside. While his best pal, Tucker, would only cuddle with a few approved people, JT freely gave cuddles to anyone willing to pet him. Nine years old, he never lost his cute puppy face and greeted me each morning by crawling all over me as soon as I woke and bestowing happy ear kisses. I loved watching him and Tucker play together The three Terrors were a real pack. Always sharing mischief, backyard hunts and cuddles. I've never had multiple dogs that bonded together and looked to me as the alpha. They were individually special as well as special to each other. The Terrors Three are now just one. At 15, Molly is still pretty spry and Queen of the House. I'm so glad that I was able to give them a feature role in my most recent book, Forever Comes in Threes, while the pack was still intact.

It's always best to do something cute, like sharing a bed next to Mom while she's working so she'll stop typing, notice us and decide it's TV time so we can sit on the sofa together and get pets.

Molly: So...JT and I caught a possum sneaking around in our yard around midnight last night and barked our heads off until Mom came outside to see. She freaked out because she said it could hurt us, but we are warriors and backed it up against the house. Mom scared the life out of me when she grabbed my collar and yanked me away. I don't see too well at night and my hearing is gone, so I didn't see her come up behind me and shrieked so loud the neighbors' light came on. When she was putting me in the house, I heard JT give a blood-curdling war cry and attack the invader. That made Mom shriek and throw me in the house less than gently so she could go back for JT. Of course, I followed her right back out through our pet door, but sat on the patio to watch after she barked an alpha command that stopped me. She grabbed JT and made us both go inside while she blocked our door and went back to deal with the possum. She told us later that JT had wounded it, and it fainted. She got a shovel and moved it outside our fence, then lectured us about possums being good animals because they eat ticks and snakes. We don't care. It was ugly and hissed at us. But, the possum was gone in the morning, so Mom said she hoped it would be okay. Still, she checked us over good to make sure it didn't bite us and gave us a treat for being good and brave watch dogs because she understands it's just our job.

You can set your watch by Molly's dinner time dance. She's very insistent, and has enlisted JT to get me to stop writing and go to the kitchen.
