DoggieRescue is proud to be partnering with the Petbarn and SavourLife for Rescue Month during the month of February!

🟠The Petbarn Foundation have donated $200k to help save pups from pounds. When you buy SavourLife food during Rescue Month they will match up to $200k in donations, with a goal of helping 40 rescue groups save 400 pups!

When puppies and dogs end up in pounds through no fault of their own, their future is uncertain and sadly often tragic. Together we are committed to making sure that as many of these pups get the second chance that they deserve.

The donation DoggieRescue will receive will help us with our latest intake - four chihuahuas - two of which we have since discovered to be pregnant.

Yet again the cycle continues of more unnecessary litters that will impact the number of other dogs we can save. With so many amazing animals struggling to find homes, the last thing rescue needs are more undesexed dogs getting pregnant and in turn flooding the pound system with unwanted pups.

There are many many people messaging us with requests to take on cats and kittens. The problem is we, like so many other rescues do not have space.
Our intakes are with ourselves or members and are housed on our own premises.
Often we are told 'we can't take on a new cat because we already have cats of our own.' Well the reality is we have multiple cats that don't all get along and we have to work around that.

Instead of 'space' read 'resource'. It takes a lot of time to monitor, feed, clean and give attention to those in our care. Money is always an issue.

Please be assured that we are helping others constantly by financing vaccinations, food, other resources and giving support to a number on our books who are unfinancial themselves.
Helping others to keep the cats they have has been one of our main activities.
Meanwhile if you are in the City of Fairfield you have access to the Cat Protection program for those on low income.
If you are in another location or are not on a pension, you can take advantage of the Adopt a Stray for $100.00.
Besides that AWL has been supporting rescue for years and continues to give vouchers for low cost desexing.

Landlords should give people a break by letting them keep their much loved pets dogs and cats freeing up the rescues share please pets are very clean
