Our rescue partners @the.rescue.sisters went to go pick up Izzy yesterday and bring her to RARE. But Izzy didn’t take her freedoms ride alone… Austin got to come too!
An incredible foster said “yes” to him a few days before transport went so both dogs are now part of RARE and will be spending the holidays indoors with people to love and care for them!
We just truly can’t believe that they’re OUT and now with fosters! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to every single person who shared their stories. They are safe because of YOU!

Cassia is the last of Mama Maeve’s Herb Garden litter! This sweet girl has patiently been waiting for her forever home and we’d love to see her find her people for the holidays!
Cassia is a dream - she is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and kids of all ages! She is now 7 months old and is more than ready to find her forever family. She is currently in a foster home with kids, and they have the following to say about Cassia:
She is so sweet, very smart, and food motivated, which makes her easy to train! She is energetic and loves to play, but also knows when to quiet down and loves to snuggle - plus, she has the softest fur which makes her an ideal cuddle buddy. She is an outdoorsy girl who LOVES to swim and rides quietly in the car. She also does great on a leash and enjoys walks. Cassia is not a barker, and only really barks when there is a reason.

🚨🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED🚨🚨
This sweet pup is Bo. Bo is in a bad situation and we are urgently asking for a foster so we can save him.
Bo’s owner reached out to us because her boyfriend is being abusive towards Bo - hitting him and yelling at him- and his owner is asking for us to take him to prevent further abuse. Despite being mistreated, Bo is incredibly sweet and loving. He has never shown any aggression towards his abuser, but rather shakes in fear whenever he’s around.
Bo is very sweet and playful - he is great with kids, is dog-friendly and good with cats. He just wants to smell cats, and is very respectful of their boundaries.
Bo is under a year old and is approximately 40 lbs. He is currently neutered, but will be before he goes into foster or adoptive home.

Jenny is our next home for Christmas feature! She has been with us since July 2023. 417 days with little interest. Jenny came to us with demodex mange; her skin was cracked and irritated and her fur had fallen out in patches. We immediately started her on medication and she quickly healed and has turned into the most gorgeous girl!
She is an adorable 2.5-year-old petite Shepherd mix, weighing in at 44 pounds full-grown. Jenny is full of love for her people and makes a loyal companion. While she can be a little shy with new faces at first, she warms up quickly and always lets you know when someone’s at the door or on the property.
Jenny loves to run and play, especially in a fenced yard where she can safely enjoy her favorite toys, like her beloved rope and jolly ball. She would be an amazing companion for someone who loves to be outdoors and cuddling on the couch! She loves to play with other dogs and would thrive with a friendly, well-balanced canine buddy or would also love to be the only dog so she could get all of your attention.
This intelligent girl is both athletic and cuddly — the perfect mix of playtime energy and cozy snuggles. If you’re looking for a smart, active, and affectionate pup, Jenny could be the one for you!

Earlier this month, Bonnie and Bambi had days to live. They found themselves on a shelter’s euthanasia list due to severe overcrowding. The shelter reached out to us, desperate for help, and thanks to fosters, we were able to save them and give them a second chance! Both are doing amazingly in our program and are ready for their forever homes!
Bonnie is incredibly affectionate and adores being around people, making her an ideal companion for any family. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is great with kids! She loves to go on walks and be outdoors, but also enjoys relaxing in the house. She is a very dynamic girl, and we think she would be the perfect fit in a variety of homes! She is around 4 years old, 55 lbs, and is a gorgeous silver Lab mix.
Bambi is a charming, petite chocolate Lab mix weighing in at just 40 lbs! She loves to walk on a leash and is incredibly kid-friendly. Bambi’s gentle nature extends to her interactions with other dogs and we think that she would do well as both an only dog or with canine siblings. Her playful and loving personality makes her a wonderful companion for families looking for a sweet and easygoing dog.

Part of our mission revolves around rural outreach. This often looks like visiting rural shelters and providing medical assistance to their dogs. If we have fosters, we’re able to save some, as some of these shelters do not offer adoptions and are not open to the public. This means that for a lot of these dogs, rescues are their only ways out.
As a foster-based rescue, we rely on fosters to be able to save them. If you have ever been interested in learning more about fostering, please reach out to us! We are creating a database of potential fosters so we can hopefully find fosters for animals in need faster.
