Rural Animal Rescue Effort - RARE We are asking that you help us give them their chance at the life they deserve. Please share our page and invite your friends and family to ‘Like’ us!

Rural Animal Rescue Effort (RARE) is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Organization based in middle Tennessee with a mission to rescue neglected and abandoned animals in rural areas with extreme overpopulation of companion animals. Rural Animal Rescue Effort (RARE) is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to helping find rescue, fosters and adopters for animals in rural shelters and pounds, both “no-

kill” and “high-kill”. Although we are beginning our efforts in the west and middle region of Tennessee, we plan on growing our efforts to other areas and states as our organization and support for our cause grows. In the interim, we will focus on the shelters and pounds that we are currently helping and continue to network animals in need across the country via social platforms, including facebook, instagram pet adoption sites, etc. In addition to networking with other non-profit organizations, including rescues, RARE also looks for foster care and adopters for the animals in need and raises donations for veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccines, heartworm tests, heartworm preventative, and spays and neuters. For those who are not active in the animal rescue world, there are tens of thousands of companion animals, mainly dogs and cats, killed every single day across the United States. Although there are animals in need everywhere across the country, rural areas seem to have the worst cases of companion animal overpopulation and abandonment for a plethora of reasons. Almost all of the animals, that sit in rural shelters/pounds or are more commonly euthanized due to the lack of space, time and money it takes to care for them, are highly adoptable and friendly with children and other animals. It takes time to accomplish change, but every stride in the right direction is worth taking.

A huge thank you to for sharing his story — these are the moments that remind us why we do this work, and why community matters so much. 💙

As we head into Giving Tuesday, we’d be so grateful for your support. Every donation helps us save more lives, care for more animals, and keep saying “yes” when no one else can.

And today, thanks to a group of generous donors, every gift will be doubled up to $4,500 — your impact goes twice as far.

If you believe in rescue the way we do, today’s a perfect day to give.

She came to us back in February as part of a cruelty case — a situation no one else was willing to step in because it was still ongoing. But we couldn’t look away. And when we met Taissa, we could tell immediately that something was wrong… even if we didn’t yet know what.

We booked the soonest vet appointment we could. During her spay, the vet called with news that still gives us chills:

Taissa had one of the worst pyometra infections she had ever seen.

If Taissa hadn’t come in that day, she wouldn’t have survived much longer.

This is why we step in.

This is why we act fast.

This is why we have our RARE Fix program — to help animals who have no one else to advocate for them, to make sure pets in vulnerable situations get the care they need so they don’t end up sick, pregnant, abandoned, or suffering in silence.

Taissa is alive today because someone said yes to helping her. Because rescue said yes when no one else would.

And right now, we need help saying yes to the next Taissa.

We’re facing over $7,000 in end-of-year medical bills from cases just like hers — emergency surgeries, infections, spay/neuter complications, cruelty cases, and animals who simply wouldn’t survive without immediate care.

Giving Tuesday is coming, but early giving is open now — and every single dollar helps us save another life just like hers.

If Taissa’s survival means something to you…

please consider donating. 💙

It’s been a rough yet incredibly rewarding year. With several major medical cases in recent months, we’re opening Giving Tuesday early so we can meet — and hopefully exceed — our goal to pay down outstanding vet bills and keep saving lives through the end of 2025 and into a strong 2026. ❤️‍🩹

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving — may your day be full of love, gratitude, friends, family, and fur-babies!
