I love my standard poodle, Logan. He's smart, athletic, and loyal. But poodle genetics are so weird! Logan tested negative for dilute and fading, but he started as a red sable, faded to cream with light tan spots, and now, at age 8, he is returning to red sable. So, so weird.

Happy birthday (a day late) to the H litter! Hazel/Remington, Halo/Maggie, Hiram/Charlie, Hemi/Ollie, Henna/Willow, Hershey/Whiskey, Hooper/Stache, and Hugo/Orzo. They were such a wonderful litter. I miss having puppies.

Oh my goodness. I was so caught up by the fact that yesterday was Malibu's 5th birthday that I forgot it was also the C litter's birthday. Happy day late birthday to Cajun/Cooper, Chaos/Cooper, Cuervo/Cooper, Cinco/Csoki, Cabot/Wild Bill, and Cameo/Malibu.

Six years ago today the A litter was born. Admittedly, not until this evening as it usually seems to be the case that pups are born in the wee hours of the night. Happy birthday to Aramis/Murphy, Atlas/Paddington, Achilles/Cato, Angie/Bria, Adonis/Bo, Adelle/Junie, Artemis/Rory, and Ajax/Scout. My first litter with Candy. I hope you are all doing well.

Sunshine is doing well. It took her nearly a year to recover from losing her pal, Indigo. She's getting older, 10 1/2, and has mellowed, but she is still the sweetest dog. I have been blessed that all of my dogs are loving with not one hint of aggression. Sunny loves her "boy", Justin. She was rescued by Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary when she was two, and then became ours.

Both parents are trained and shown by youth in obedience, rally and agility. They will mature to “Maxi-Mini” size, between 25-40 #… a truly great size for joining in your family adventures!

Genetic tested parents & clear, Health tested parents & clear (hips/elbows).

They will be AKC registered and come with first shots, dewormed and a contract/health guarantee.

Charlie, formerly Hiram of the H litter, has become a certified service dog! That makes two of Malibu's pups that have done so, that I know of. I'm very proud of Charlie and his master who has done an amazing job training Charlie. I had planned to train Candy as a therapy dog, but never put the energy into it. Actually, all of my dogs would be good service/therapy dogs. Cora isn't overly keen on strangers, but she would be a great service dog.

I should add that Charlie's dad says that there is a downside to Charlie being a service dog...everyone wants to pet him. 😀

Suffering from last puppy available syndrome. Everyone wonders why the last puppy available didn't get picked. Something must be wrong with her, right? No, it just works out that there has to be a last puppy available. Chelsey assures me that she is wonderful in every way. Her price, if she is chosen soon, is half what Chelsey normally gets for her puppies. And once she is gone, there will be no more. As Chelsey and I have lamented, there are too many people breeding doodles. And not quality dogs. And not responsible breeders. The saying "you get what you pay for" generally is true, but not in this case. Chelsey just wants to be done.

The last three Bernedoodle pups to be available from Timber Ridge Bernedoodles, maybe ever. They are so similar and yet, they are distinctly different. I'm guessing their personalities are as well. Roma (mom) is the nicest, smartest and most loveable Bernedoodle out there. I don't know the sire, but according to Chelsey he is a black phantom who has not faded. So, there is hope that these guys will actually stay black. HOPE. No guarantee. Poodle genetics are weird.
