Poor Louie had a sore paw, and what looked like an infected claw root.
It transpires that his toe bones were shattered, and he had to have his toe amputated.

Every part of sweet cicely carries a sweet, aniseed flavour and fragrance. It was associated with midsummer festivals at which, leaves were added to drinks – possibly to aid digestion of the fatty foods that were consumed!
