Following up on yesterday post, one of the other parts around the calico gene is you get to produce visually stunning hets when you miss the visuals.

With the variety of high and low expression Calico, similar to that of Pied, you make belters…. Here are some of our best Hets from the past few years

Had a really good long chat around Pied with a top top breeder yesterday, and my first point on it was “You know Calico remains super untapped in Pied right”

In all honesty I’ve not had a huge amount of luck with producing visuals, but the few I’ve made just highlight the genes potiential.

The sand like pixelation it creates, similar to the Metal Flake that flew about, can’t get enough of it me.

Need to workout what this girl is and then decide if I’ll be holding her back. Beautiful animal, but do I need her

Don’t think there is any holdbacks in this clutch, but will wait to see what the Dam’s shed tests come back with. I may keep some gravel females if she proves to be Super Gravel instead of Highway

Clutch 2 is out, bang on the Pied odds, no Clowns to show therefore time to shed test the Dam.

I do believe we have another Calico Pied combo in here early doors though which I’m happy about.

So I’ve heard of other people proving out recessives without having the knowledge of them within their collection. I never thought this would be me whereby I solely work with Pied… However, this one caught me off guard.

Clearly this is some form of Albino.

Pairing was OD Enchi Leo Fire Pied Het Ultra x ODYB Leo Fire DH Ultra Pied.

The Dam was a daughter of the same Sire to this clutch, so the OD Enchi Leo Fire Pied must be DH Albino Ultra.

Unfortunately the clutch was a write off, so apologies for the graphic nature, however I felt this was an important post to make nonetheless as anyone who has had some ultra pied project animals off me, well may now be het Albino

Shed testing to now findout which line of Albino this is.
