Duke is dreaming of his life with a loving forever family.
This sweet, 4 year old mixed breed loves everyone he meets! He has a very nice personality, loves a daily walk, and has the perfect medium energy. He likes other dogs and kids as well. Duke does have some allergies and will need an owner that will continue his allergy care. We've put him on non-prescription, sensitive skin and stomach food, and he is doing much better already!
Duke is a great family dog and the shelter is no place for this lover boy.

ARE YOU WORTH COMING BACK TO?

I’m often horrified when I watch people trying to get their dogs to come back to them when they call.

They call and call and get increasingly angry and frustrated as their dog keeps ignoring them.

When their dog eventually comes back, or has been chased and "captured” by the now really angry person, they get screamed at, yanked about, or punished in some way for taking so long and not listening.

Why on earth would a dog want to return to someone who does this to them!

The most common reason dogs don’t come back when we call is because it’s not a positive experience.

A new environment is generally far more rewarding, stimulating and exciting than coming back to us.
An exciting scent or seeing something to chase can all override a response to recall.

Make coming back to you well worth it by always making it a rewarding experience and keep practicing this throughout a dog’s life.

Have a little patience if it takes longer than you would like, let your dog finish what they’re doing before calling them, practice in different locations and environments and never reprimand or punish them for coming back.

There is never a guarantee of a perfect recall each and every time, but making it a rewarding experience will greatly improve the rate of success.

Andre the Giant may have a big name and even bigger, chubby cheeks, but right now, his world feels very small. This sweet 1-year-old boy is still adjusting to life in the shelter, unsure of the people around him. He’s shy, quiet, and still learning that not all humans are scary💔

But the hardest part? Andre is FIV+, which means many adopters will overlook him without ever giving him a chance. Even though he can live a long, happy life like any other cat, he’ll likely keep getting passed by—just because of three little letters😢

He doesn’t understand why he’s here. He doesn’t know why no one has chosen him. But we know that, given time, patience, and love, Andre will blossom into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be💙💛

Please don’t let him be forgotten. Andre deserves a home, a family, and a life beyond the shelter walls. If you can’t adopt, share his story—his forever person is out there somewhere. Let’s help them find him!

For a year and a half, Mozzarella has watched as other dogs found their forever homes. He’s wagged his tail as adopters walked past him, hoping—just maybe—today would be his turn. But every night, he curls up alone, still waiting.🥺💔

Mozzarella is 5 years old, and all he wants is a family to love him. He has the biggest, happiest smile, and nothing makes him shine more than chasing his tennis ball. He doesn’t ask for much—just a home where he can be the only pet and a family who will throw his ball and love him for who he is. He’s great on leash and doesn’t react to other dogs while out on walks, but he needs a home where he doesn’t have to share his space.🏠

He can live with teenaged kids and would be the most loyal best friend to whoever gives him a chance. But time keeps passing, and Mozzarella keeps waiting. He doesn’t understand why no one picks him. He just knows he’s still alone.

Please, don’t let him wait any longer 😢
