Homeless Cat Management Team The Homeless Cat Management Team works to humanely reduce the population growth of homeless cats thro We do not provide relocation or adoption services.

Our program focuses on Community Cat, (otherwise commonly known as feral and stray) Colonies, and friendly kitties rescued from these colonies to be placed into loving homes. Responsible "Outside" cats caretakers must provide food, water, shelter and veterinary care when necessary, to the felines they feed. We do not operate an animal shelter. Our high volume spay/neuter clinics include the follow

ing:
Spay/neuter surgery for cats and kittens (This includes a preventative antibiotic, anesthetic and IV pain medication). Rabies vaccination for all cats over three months of age. This service is included in the Feral Cat Package. Rescue cats will incur an additional $8.00 charge for this service to defray our cost. Frontline treatment for fleas, grooming to remove fleas, ticks, ear mites, matted fur, etc. Mandatory left ear-tipping for spayed/neutered feral cats being re-released, for ease of recognition

HCMT will sell shelters Monday, November 11, from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Location: 322 Braddock Ave. Braddock, PA 15104. We will be in a large warehouse on the corner of Braddock Ave. and 4th Street. We will be on the side of the building on 4th St. in front of the black garage doors.

The shelters have two entrances, removable flaps, and include straw. As always, there is one cooler inside a plastic storage tote. One large cat can comfortably fit inside a shelter. Two smaller cats who love each other will be able to snuggle comfortably.

We only have a limited number this year, and they will go fast. Please make sure your car is empty so they will fit inside. First come first serve.

They are $35/each. Cash, Venmo or Paypal. If you use PayPal, there is a 4% service charge, which is $36.40 per shelter. Pay when you are picking up.

The FVRCP vaccine for cats helps protect against 3 highly contagious and life-threatening feline disease; Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Panleukopenia. All ferals fixed through our clinic receive this vaccine to help keep them healthy while they continue their lives outside. At this past clinic, we administered over 70 FVRCP vaccines 🙀
You can help us offset this cost and keep our community cats healthy by sponsoring a vaccine! Donate via Venmo or PayPal (or send us a DM to mail a check) to keep a community cat feeling well.

Happy Community Cat Day!

Did you know? The Homeless Cat Management Team (HCMT) is a freestanding spay and neuter organization in the Pittsburgh region. Our mission is to lead the way in ending the overpopulation of companion animals in our region by providing high-volume, high-quality, low-cost sterilization. We also assist and support community cat caretakers with trapping, transportation, cat food and shelter and veterinary care.

As part of our TNR process and mission to end feline overpopulation and reduce populations of cats living outdoors, we also assess kittens and friendly cats trapped during TNR processes for socialization and adoptability. After spay/neutering and administering age-appropriate vaccines we assist them through the adoption process with our network of volunteer foster homes, Pittsburgh CAT!

Do you take care of any community cats?

Today we celebrate National Community Cat Day! As the adoption arm of Homeless Cat Management Team, responsible care of community cats (formerly known as feral cats) is very important to us. One mission of HCMT is to assist and support community cat caretakers with trapping, transportation, cat food and shelter and veterinary care. We also provide high-volume, high-quality, low-cost sterilization in support of Trap-Neuter-Return programs, which help stabilize cat communities. When we find injured community cats, we take care of them. And, when we find young kittens or friendly adults without owners, we adopt them out through here -- Pittsburgh Cat Adoption Team!

Sending a big THANK YOU to everyone who made our third Pins for Purrs bowling fundraiser with Pittsburgh CAT such a success!
Events like this are so important for our TNR and rescue efforts. All of the money raised goes directly to helping community cats get fixed and stay healthy, providing low cost options for cat owners, and getting cats adoption ready for their forever homes!
We could not do what we do without everyone who bowled, donated, and shared the event with their friends and families. Thank you!

🎄Keep an eye out for our holiday party in December!

🐾 🐾 FERAL vs PET CAT (please read!) 🐾 🐾
HCMT treats both feral cats and pet/rescue cats.
- A FERAL is a cat that will be returned to the outdoor location where it was trapped after surgery.
- A PET is a cat that either has been or will be adopted as a pet after surgery.
- ONLY FERAL cats are eligible for No-Charge clinics.
- Both feral and pet cats can be treated at Fast Track Clinics.
- FAST TRACK CLINICS are for any cat who needs a low-cost spay or neuter.

Congrats to our friends at Trash Cat Rescue for being voted the best place to adopt a pet! We're proud to call these fierce lovers of cats and TNR advocates our allies and friends

It has been a busy day so we are a bit overdue in posting, but thank you to everyone who nominated us for and voted for us as the Best Place to Adopt a Pet in the ’s 2024 Reader’s Poll!

We appreciate this gesture not only due to being a small rescue but especially because things seem to feel so overwhelming most days in the animal rescue world, and recognitions like this help remind us that our efforts are not going unnoticed! We received such an outpouring of love today from our fosters, volunteers, rescue friends, and followers - the cat community here in Pittsburgh really is something! We are so grateful to be here with you guys! 😻

We will be setting up as a vendor this Friday at the City Paper Best of Awards… no kitties are tagging along, but if you are attending the event please be sure to stop by and say hi!

Wonder how our cats go from rescue to adoption?

HCMT works with volunteers and community cat caretakers to spay/neuter cats in their areas. Sometimes cats are too ill, injured, or too friendly to re-join their colonies.

With our sister organization, Pittsburgh CAT , we assess kittens and friendly felines for socialization and adoptability. If we have the space, after spay/neutering and administering age-appropriate vaccines we look for foster placement with our network of volunteers. Once the cats have recovered and spent time socializing with humans, we work to find them homes!

Be sure to follow Pittsburgh CAT to see our adoptable cats like Farrah and Francesca!
