**Pupdate** our boy Oakley has a clean bill of health and is doing great, he also started an adoption trial and so far he's doing good! We've had a few bumps along the way, like he needed to sit in the kitchen sink and look out the windows to wait for his new friend to come home, ate the door and the counter the day we blocked it off...so he fits, he sits. Lol His new mom is very patient and has had a few support calls but so far she's in love and so is he!

We are looking for 2 so we have a back up

If you can help out please etransfer to [email protected] Or direct to vet St Thomas Animal Clinic 53 princess at 5196372233 thank you

Good morning and Happy New Year!
*1 donations so far Jan 6th*

We are in need of food for Cleo! This food works for her so we keep her on this one, however it's expensive to keep up with, so we are asking for a little help. Most convenient is for us to pick up from any petstore in St. Thomas or Aylmer (we typically get from *Rens Pet Depot). We know times are tight, any donations help too. We try to keep Cleo's life as stable as possible, she suffers from an auto immune disease that does not have a cure, just ongoing maintenance. We've done well for a very long time but she's had another flare up. We were looking for help with her food and still need that help, but today I had to take our poor girl to the vet as she's in complete flare up, her treatment includes medicated baths, a steroid, and antibiotic ( this is not food related allergies but we keep her on salmon) . So in the last 48hrs we've spent $130 ( minus $20 donation) for food, and tonight $200 for medication and medicated bath- so we are asking again for a little help. We know this works for Cleo so we expect over the next 6-8weeks for her to be feeling much better. If anyone can offer a bath and blow out in the coming weeks that would help alot as her fur is falling out at an alarming rate. Thank you so far $165 has been raised, little bit more to go

* while we appreciate all the concerns gor medical treatment options, over the past 6yrs we have spent over 15k on testing, holistic treatment conventional medications, while we can keep her symptoms free thr majority of thr time we have times that it gets ahead of us, leading to a flare up.

Had a visit with Oakley yesterday, he is still waiting for adoption to the right home, in the meantime he says a chair outside would be great as he likes to relax in the yard. He is in a loving home however owner is in palliative care, has had a leg amputated and over all just struggling to give him the best life with health restrictions. We want the best for this boy. Oakley is 4yrs old, likes other dogs, is a large breed. Message us for more info.

For adoption

Meet Oakley - Oakley has been a long time resident here at the rescue. If you recall last year he got himself into trouble when he bolted from the house and was hit by a car. Oakley is also very special as he has lived with my parents since intake and with my dad passing and my mom needing continuous care, it's time for Oakley to find his home. You would think as a founder of a rescue I could just take him, with 4 of my own dog, downsizing and possibly moving into moms home, providing care for my mom it's a bit much and he deserves all the attention in the world.

So here we are. Oakley is 4 years old, lives with 2 other male dogs - he would love to bring his friend Buddy with him but we know that's a big ask. Oakley doesn't realize he is a 100lb dork. He is a hound and when he barks he has a big bellow bark. He will require a 6ft fenced in yard, no cats, and no kids. He would be best with a male owner but is good with a strong female presence. While he is good with people and a real charmer - he has a select few he does not like - he doesn't hurt but will scare them off we aren't sure why he does this but like us, we don't like everyone either. As for kids he does like who he likes, little boys seem to be an issue but not all of them - we have some ideas who he us selective of, and we can speak to potential owners about it.

He will be your best friend, always happy to see you and huge tail wags and smiles. His leg healed well but he has a limp, but he can still go for walks just not long ones, and admittedly he has not been able to go on walks with my parents, but does enjoy them. Long term on the leg is maybe some arthritis as he ages. He is a bit on the heavy side at the moment and would benefit to lose a fews pounds.

For adoption - Meet sweet Mr. Bentley. He was just a year old at the end of February! He is a big tall boy! He LOVES to play fetch. He even brings it back to you for you to throw over and over and over again! He is a very vocal boy and let's you know when he is excited or upset. He is good with other dogs and with cats. His best friend at his foster home is with a 3 legged cat! He loves to be with his humans and would be ok if it was just him so he could get all the attention. He was returned to the rescue as his family stated he was uneasy around kids, and weary of strangers but fime with hus family.. His foster family has only noticed with food or water a bit of gaurding and that can be worked with very easily. Right now he is being free fed and LOVES liver sprinkles on his food. Any flavor will do! He is on a no chicken diet as he was showing some ear sensitivity with chicken his old family said. He is great with children as well he just doesn't realize how big he is and may knock them over. He loves to go for walks as well but is a bit of a bum on leash and needs to work on his leash manners. He walks really well with a gentle leader but doesn't like when other dogs approach him or if his sibling dogs are ahead of him. Currently he sleeps in his crate at nighttime. He would really benefit from a family/person that will be spending lots of time with him and that is very active. He would also love a huge fenced in yard to play fetch in. The fosters believe he would also benefit from some formal training to make him more confident in himself and to keep his brain busy as he is extremely intelligent. He is not a fan of the vet.

*Adopted*Here it goes... my best kept secret.. You haven't seen him posted much, I'm in love and I had to take a minute and decide what my capacity was. I've had many amazing dogs through the rescue the last year, more than one I wanted to keep and if I did - I would have 13 dogs! While I am an amazing home, I have life changes coming and I feel there is better home for him waiting to be blessed with an amazing companion 🐾

This is my good friend Jake. He is funny, a tarrant, loveable, huggable, smart little boy that is worthy of a family to call his own. A mere 6 months old, he is the last of the yellowstone litter to be available for adoption. Now when I say smart, I'm not just saying this, he can open all doors and will shut them, sometimes lock them when you go outside, can't be too careful..stranger danger you know. He watches your back, knows your every move, he knows your schedule and is eager to please. When you hug him sideways and rub him, he will rub your arm back. He loves to play, fetch is an awesome game, and he wants nothing more than to please his owner. He needs a family that will love him, play with him, snuggle him at night, laugh at his crazy time, take him for hikes, and just shower him with the best things in life. He would do amazing at agility, canine good neighbour, and other sports. He is kennel trained, potty trained, and food motivated,

He is for adoption to the right home, your home must meet my own home standards or better. You also get me- Victoria as his official aunt that wants updates and birthday invites and graduations.
