We love to use all our senses and muscles when playing with play dough and one of our favourite activities is rolling worms with our entire arm, starting from the finger tips all the way to the elbow, feeling the squishiness of the play dough on our skin, making our muscles work, and being gentle enough to not break the worm.

Some little ones are very cautious of squishing the cute animal faces on our dough pots, but they make the most gorgeous marble blend when squished together and finally take on the colour of the dominant base colour in the pot so mums and dads don't have to worry about the colour mixing ick!

You may have noticed over the years in our stories (and we totally need to do more talking stories) that our little business is run by 2 South Africans, although Bianca is based in the UK and runs our UK branch.

Today, after 7 years and a huge process of getting to this point, Bianca became a British Citizen. A momentous occasion in our personal lives and we can now officially say that we are a British owned business. 🇬🇧

Our play dough is designed so that your little ones can learn through play safely, with non-toxic taste safe ingredients, a delicious scent and a squishy sensory experience. Packaged in recyclable containers (we reuse them for our snacks as they are leak free) and lastly in a cotton drawstring bag to take around with you where ever you go!

Once we've made all our play dough worms we love to cut them up with our play dough scissors and count all the little baby worms we make from them. This is a great activity to work those finger muscles but also a really fun way to learn our counting.

If you don't have play dough scissors you can also use a blunt knife or your fingers.

We are LIVE!

Our entire new range has just gone up on our website and we're ready for you to order away. These are so different to anything we've done before but we really wanted to bring the single pots back as they were in such a big demand. To be more sustainable we removed the labels from our pots which kind of takes the fun away from the single pots, so we put our heads together to make these pots fun without the labels and we are so in love with what came out.

We are THREE today!​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ It's been the most magical 3 years of Dough Animal and we cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us!

Our Bits & Bobs pouch has already launched in the UK. You can shop them on our store now! Our amazing large pouch is perfect for any occasion. We like to put bits in from around the house, new and old toys, some suckers and a snack and we take it along with us to the pub, in a car trip, on the plane etc and our little ones are occupied for hours as they seem and explore the bits & bobs inside their pouch!

Naturally Crafted Play Dough

Dough Animal started in early 2019 when Bianca, Founding Creator of Dough Animal, and a full time designer and creative strategist used her love for creativity, and the memory of creating imaginary worlds with the home-made play dough her mom made for her.

Dough Animal focuses on early childhood education, being an advocate for learning through play from a young age. Helping to improve fine motor skills, learn textures through sensory play, hand-eye coordination, increased curiosity and knowledge and fun all at the same time.

A few months later, Casey became the Cape Town Creator for Dough Animal. Casey is mommy to Blake, a gorgeous 3 year old with bundles of energy, the sweetest nature and a big imagination. Casey loves creativity, being kind to nature and value for money, all of the things important to Dough Animal.
