So this video is not about the visual...it is all about the audio. (I was holding my phone at the door of the birdroom.) Please close your eyes and listen closely, and I wouldn't blame you if you just give it 15 seconds and move on. This is a recording just now of my love- deprived (or depraved, you decide) 29 year old Yellow-Naped Amazon, Czar. It would have been more meaningful if I'd taken the video of him MAKING these noises, but he prefers to be left alone with his flock at these times, and when a humanoid appears in his view, he just shuts down, as if to say, "Who? Me? I think you've mistaken me for the other Amazon in the room."
Oh my gosh! A Get Creative2 Roll The Tape toy is no match for Laurie Mc's little caiques. As soon as the toys went into their cages, these cuties were assaulting with joy! Thanks for the vid, Laurie!
Meet Malibu, resident wood splitter, toothpick maker, and all-around destroyer of any wooden parrot toy in her path. She has been given explicit instructions to leave SOMETHING for her brother, Tanner, and her sister, Cosmo, to chew on. She doesn't follow instructions well.
What a spectacular, surreal surprise this morning - the huge herd of elk weâve watched converging on John Maloneâs property behind the Boy Scout Ranch over the past week moved at dawn this morning (approximately 2.5+ miles as the crow flies) to the southeast and came into our development around 7 AM. They traveled slowly without being disturbed through a wooded area, crossed a road, avoided fences by using easements, and entered our neighborsâ property. If only our neighbors had known there were 400+ elk walking up their âdriveway,â right outside their front door, heading south into their fields, grazing. If you listen closely you can hear them whistling and bugling. What an incredible way to end the end this year. We are so lucky to live here and witness Nature like this.

The elk herd is huge, and has been in this particular meadow/area for about four days. Largest herd weâve seen out here for 26 years, about three miles from our ranch. They are stunning.
Preparing garden vegetables with my helper, Malibu. Turns out that even though her nickname here is "Wood Chipper" she doesn't mind shredding up a chunk of a collard green leaf, too.
This is Rex, a very brilliant (Of course he is!) African Grey, owned by Dr. Brenna Fitzgerald, exploring his new Get Creative2 Woodpecker Foraging Toy that his mom made for him at the GC2 "Toys for Middles" Parrot Toy Workshop on June 4. Rex is doing a bang up job of figuring out how his new toy works and reaping the rewards for his efforts! Way to go, Rex!

Get Creative2 PVC Parrot Playground
Just finished up this huge pvc playground/playstand today. I really enjoyed incorporating so many different materials and textures for my client's birds and constantly modifying this from the pvc skeleton that I posted a few weeks ago. There is pvc, acrylic toys, toys made with wood from our Ponderosa Pines, sisal wrap, honeycomb cardboard, a cargo net with toys, moveable perches, angles, swings, and more toys. It's pretty much the kitchen sink of parrot playgrounds and will last forever. Whew-I need a latte!
