Welcome to the truck of horrors! We don’t even know where to begin; ⚠️let’s start with ⚠️This should be illegal ⚠️ the truck has no windows⚠️this guy probably stopped off at a few backyard breeders, the Amish or puppy mills picks up some puppies and caged them in this truck🚨 closed it like a moving van and locked them in 🚨picked a spot, broke out the blue painters tape and threw up two signs 🚨Opened his metal folding chair and he’s in business. 😳 If you ever see this, please call your local police. We don’t know where it was taken, but this is happening worldwide, and we must ask ourselves why. For everyone who knows better, there are twice as many people that would buy a puppy from him. WE MUST educate the public. Our overflowing shelter system is an example of not educating consumers.

Stop buying animals!!
Repost from

I just don’t get it. A friend sent me this article and it made me cry. The cost of the puppy mill dog at $4,700 could save 40 dogs in the shelter. Forty dogs for the price of one designer puppy!! Please educate yourself and understand that dogs in shelters are amazing. Not only do you get a wonderful life-long friend that needed saving, but you pay a small adoption fee. Shelter dogs come vaccinated and spayed or neutered. This article from the New York Post makes me sick as the writer never even mentions shelter dogs or rescuing as an option. It goes to show that so many people need to be educated on the pets in shelters/rescues. These people also need to understand where these high price-tag dogs come from. Do your homework and look up puppy mill dogs before you pay for that designer dog in the window. Would you rather save a life or support cruelty? I thought you loved dogs?? Please SHARE. I am trying so hard to help educate but I need you to share this message and ask people to follow me. I will show them the many faces of shelter dogs. I promise not to disappoint. ❤️

Plain and simple! Never buy a puppy online, sight unseen. It is important to do your homework, meet the mother dog and visit the home where your puppy was born. See for yourself. Listen to your gut. If you feel something does not seem right with the breeder or the facility walk away. It’s in your best interest to see for yourself where your puppy was born.
As we said, if you don’t see for yourself, there is no way of knowing where your puppy was born.
September is Puppy Mill Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing information that will help educate those who are thinking about adding a puppy to their family. We know that the fastest way to end puppy mills is to educate buyers.... before they buy. So please JOIN US and SHARE our messages on your timeline and in dog groups that you might be part of. Help educate and end puppy mills.

Today is Puppy Mill Awareness Day! Puppy mills come in all shapes, colours, sizes and disguises. When looking to add a new puppy to your family, we encourage you to ask questions! Ask LOTS of questions. A good breeder will welcome your questions and want to ensure that you are a good fit for one of their puppies. Recognize some of the red flags that come with puppy mills. We have shared a few of the big ones, but you must trust your gut. If something feels wrong or fishy, it most likely is.

ADOPT! Shelters everywhere are full, and many fantastic dogs are looking for a home. Check with your local shelter to see who is ready for a family.

Together, we can end this cruel cycle of over-breeding for profit.

There is an alarming number of states that have no department or licensing process for dog breeders. While some states rely on their counties for enforcement, they have no centralized location for records or inspections on these facilities nor do they have the designated staff for this department. This is extremely concerning considering our research shows that there is a high number of breeders selling to stores and online from these states.

Researching before you buy is the most crucial step in avoiding puppy mills or cruel breeding operations. No one wants to know that their puppy’s parents are suffering in a cage across the country.

Courtesy post from 🕯️Air fragrances: the New “Second Hand Smoke”🚬

Most of our pets spend over 90% of their time indoors🏠 and the air inside our homes can be more toxic than the air outside.

Commercial products used to “freshen” the home can be incredibly harmful.💨 Air fresheners, plug-ins, and many candles can emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, phthalates, benzenes, and more. Many of these chemicals are associated with negative health effects including respiratory problems, headaches, skin problems, neurological issues, GI problems, immune system problems, and more.

Studies have also found air freshener compounds can be adsorbed on walls, furnishings, and surfaces, and be reemitted into the indoor air environment.🛋️ Even more concerning, our pets spend much of their time lying on these surfaces, and often licking them.

These “secondhand scents,” or indirect exposure to air fresheners, have been raising concerns comparing the health ramifications to secondhand to***co smoke.🫁

To help keep you and your pets safe, we show you how to make a variety of homemade simmer pot scents🍲 in our new book, The Forever Dog LIFE, AND we’ve included a whole section of DIY solutions to freshen up your home💦 while keeping you and your pets healthy. (You can still grab a copy at 50% OFF🏷️ at most major online retailers!)

🍎🎃Fall Spice Recipe:
1 apple, sliced or in chunks
1 Tbl pumpkin spice
1 Tbl whole cloves
2-3 tsp nutmeg
1-2 vanilla beans (or vanilla extract)
Water or apple cider

Bring liquid to a soft boil and add ingredients. Reduce heat to simmer, allowing the aromas to fill your home. *Never leave a simmer pot unattended.

"ZERO INTEREST:" 💛🐕🐾 Officials at a Richmond animal shelter said they have had "ZERO interest" after they put out the call last weekend for a forever family for two dogs that need to be adopted together.

Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) officials posted Friday that they "just don't understand why" there has been no interest in the bonded pair.

"They are the sweetest and cutest pair you will ever see," RACC officials wrote.

The shelter posted last Sunday that female pit bulls, 4-year-old Who Goes There and 1-year-old Hi, It’s Me, "came from a bad situation."

"They were left in a crate in a car, covered in urine/fences and flies; Who Goes There had glaucoma so bad in her remaining eye (already blind) that we removed the painful nonworking one," shelter officials said.

Officials said the younger pup has been acting as a seeing-eye dog for the older animal.

"It will just about break your heart with love to see them together," officials wrote. "These girls love each other."

As a result, shelter staffers are looking for a home for both dogs and someone "game to" manage a blind dog.

"The easiest transition would be a quieter house with few steps and without other dogs but if you have a calm easy and friendly pup we can try," the post reads. "We know we are hoping for a miracle here but we believe in miracles! Can you help us find them a happy forever?"

Anyone interested is asked to email shelter director Christie Chipps-Peters at [email protected] with their home info and why they would be the best choice. 💛🐕🐾

To my human moms & dads, this is what happens to my paws when you take me out in the scorching sun ☀️ when the pavement is so hot !

Remember I sweat through my paws, so in this heat I can’t get rid of my sweat as my paws are burning. Missing my walk won’t harm me. Please let me just relax indoors and take me out when the sun is down🐾

If you see someone walking their dog on hot pavement, ask them to take off their shoes for the remainder of their walk home. Maybe then they'll understand.

Thank you to 8 Below Husky Rescue for this valuable advice 🙏
