"All dogs will go to heaven
At least that is what they all say,
Even if though they don't go to church
Or know the words to pray.

They are our protector and defender
They are truly man's best friend,
And all that they ask for in return is companionship;
Until their life's end." -Randy L. McClave

This is going to be an extremely long post:
I don't even know how to put into words how much this business has meant to me over the years. My journey began as a hobby and grew into a full time career. My ability to bring reactive, aggressive, and fearful dogs out of their shells has been the absolute highlight of the last 6 years.
Unfortunately I decided to work for myself full time just a few months pre-pandemic and I was not entirely prepared for what that meant financially. When I began it was financially sustainable and growing, and then the pandemic fell on us.
With all of your love and support I was able to survive the pandemic, and then was promptly knocked down once again after being in a car accident. As you all know I suffered a brain injury and had a lot of difficulty functioning for a long time.
These events really put me up against a wall and bottlenecked my ability to grow and thrive in this industry.
The love and support I have received from all of you while I healed has not gone unnoticed, I am eternally grateful for the relationships I have built and for the family I have earned over the years.
I have however been in a situation where I still have a lot of healing to do, and financially I have not been able to find a way to afford the much needed health insurance to do it correctly.
I made the decision recently to put myself back in the job market and play to my strengths and my ability to run offices, build SOP's, create policies, and help companies increase profitability.
On September 28th I was offered a new job opportunity as an Operations Manager. I will be saying goodbye to being a full time pet care provider on October 10, 2023.
My hope is that I will still be able to do drop in visits for pets who need them off "normal" work hours, and perhaps I will be able to board or house sit from time to time.
I also want to keep in touch and make sure Astrid and I get to spend time with all of our favorite animals and humans.

I will be making another post with some suggestions for other sitters you may be able to use for the future.

Thank you for 6 wonderful years taking care of your incredible fur families,

Chris

It's been a while since I've posted, but this week I brought a new dog on my pack walk. Meet Tommy a St Bernard puppy roughly 7 months old and already bigger than the adult dogs in our pack.

I am currently on vacation until 10th October and will get back to messages and inquiries when I return.

I want to take a moment to wish a very special Happy Birthday to our dear Astrid. Were it not for her Boba Fetch Pet Care would not exist and were it not for her mom would not have had an income for the last 6 months. Astrids hard work and love for our doggie friends made work possible while I recovered from my car accident. Thank you to everyone who was willing to switch walks to play dates, and to everyone who supported us while we went through a difficult time.
Astrid turns 6 this year, and I couldn't have been blessed with a better partner and companion.
Happy Birthday Princess Butter Butt!

Long Post incoming:

As many of of you are aware, on September 28 I was in a car accident and was rear ended. I have since cut back on working pretty substantially and have been attempting to get better.

For old and new clients, you may have noticed that I am less attentive, less available, and less likely to reply lately. That is primarily due to issues surrounding my brains ability to function on its old normal.

Beginning tomorrow February 28th I will be doing Rehabilitation for a Traumatic Brain injury sustained during the accident. 4 days a week, 2 hours a day, for a minimum of 3 weeks.

During this time I don't think I can add any additional clients, and I am unsure how the rehab will effect my ability to work in general.

My hope is that Astrid will still be able to work with all of her buds and make Mom look like a Rockstar, even though we all know I am just her chauffeur.

I greatly appreciate everyone's patience during this time, and hope that there is light at the end of this 3 week period and I can get back to work in a more full time capacity.

I will have a temporary change in services while I am recovering.

No dog walks for the time being

No house sitting for dogs that require regular walks

I will still continue drop in visits for dogs who have yards or who do not require a walk.

Drop ins for cats will also continue.

Dog play dates are still on as Astrid does the majority of the work for those.

There my be days where I don't feel up to working, depending on how I feel. If you are currently in need of walks or more consistent care please reach out to my colleagues

Hey friends, I was in a car accident on Tuesday and have been a bit under the weather since. While I am looking forward to returning to work as soon as possible, I may need to do so on a more part time basis or do more play sessions and less walks.
I won't be accepting new clients or new reactive/aggressive dogs at this time while I navigate my health, and the safety of your pets in my care.
Thank you all for checking in on me and offering assistance during this process. I hope to be better soon.

Someone turns 5 soon! We don't know her exact birthday because she is a rescue but we decided her birthday is 4 months before her shelter intake day since she was listed as 4 month old.
On Tuesday make sure you show her some extra love and give her extra pats for all of her hard work.

The How and the Why

I have always been an animal lover and have had a plethora of different pets in my lifetime. I have worked in Emergency Veterinary medicine and learned about animal behavior from the Cornell University behavior consultants we would frequently have in the clinic. In 2016 my husband and I adopted our rescue dog Astrid and I immediately took to her care, trying to learn and cram every bit of missing animal behavior and training information I could. I learned through her just how much I enjoy working with dogs, so much so that we opened our home to a second dog. Freyja was a project dog, she was a resource guarder (toys and food), leash reactive, and reactive to other dogs and people passing by. We worked together for 7 months and she became a better happier dog, she was able to share toys, she wouldn't growl bark and lunge at strangers or other dogs, and was even able to go to dog parks without any incidents or issues. Freyja sadly is no longer with us. My pet care business is dedicated to my dogs Astrid and Freyja, they taught me that nothing worth having in life comes easy, that the love of a dog is truly unconditional, and that they are worth every thing we do for them and so much more. My love for them pushed me to learn more and grow in the animal care field. I am continually learning new things, buying new books, asking questions of other pet professionals, and will continue to do so. Your pets are your family, and when they are in my care they become part of my family. Their health, safety and happiness are important to me, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that they always have a wonderful experience with me.
