I am looking for a rescue to take in Baywolf and/or Moon. They are with an owner in Rosebud, MO who is struggling to provide basic care for them. Neither has had any recent veterinary care. They are leery of people because they are not well socialized. They are living in a horse stall. Unfortunately my rescue does not have a license to have wolfdogs. I have been told that these two are low content wolf based on their appearance. The owner does not have any DNA documentation for them. The owner is willing to transport them.

I live in PA and work in a humane society. I’m looking for any type of advice or resource! We received a stray dog to our shelter that was humanely trapped after running on the loose. She is beautiful but had a yellow eye. We DNA tested her because it is illegal for us to have wolf hybrids in PA. Her embark came back today and she is 28.2% gray wolf! She’s the best dog we have at the shelter so I want to find her a great rescue!! She LOVES DOGS and is our main tester. We literally have her playing with our dog selective dogs because she is so submissive!! Any advice or contacts would be so greatly appreciated.
More to follow.

Cross post - for more information:
We have ran into a pickle, we have a dog that we have had for over 2 years, we were told that because of his breed we are not allowed to have him in city limits, he is part Wolf and considered a domestic hybrid, he had a DNA test done and is mixed with other breeds also, so on a side note we have a short amount of time that we have to rehome him, and this is not easy on any of us by any means because he is part of our family and a really good loving dog! He is male, he doesn't show signs of aggression towards us our kids or other dogs. I can be contacted at

Behavior Observation 2/8/24. Lizzy is a shy gal who warmed up. She could be touched head to tail with no negative response. While walking, her tail remained at body level with a loose wag, hackles up and she ignored other dogs. While on leash, Lizzy did not pull, and she took corrections well. Further, she was very interested in treats and took them gently from the handler. She accepted and sought attention. This behavior observation was performed by staff in the shelter setting. Please note that behavior observations are not a temperament guarantee.

She is about 4 yrs old spayed and has her shots. She has been raised with our male black lab also fixed. She plays rough with him, as so hyper, so we ended up separating to separate fenced areas.they like each other, but feel she tries to show dominence as she is part wolf . . She stays outside in an enclosure during daytime, and comes into house to eat dinner and sleep in crate in house. She has been raised with our 5 girls, gentle with girls. Our youngest is 14. So I am unsure how she is with little children. She gets along with guys, but needs to warm up to them, if she doesn't feel threatened. We take her for walks in town at times and she is friendly with people wanting to pet her. Exercise is good for her and calms. We don't leave her loose in the house unattended as my husband never had dogs previously in house. But she enjoys being petted and attended to.
The times when escaped when she is when transferring from enclosure to our house. I made a mistake, not focused, the other night the door swung out too far and she escaped past me before putting her on lead.
She stays in our outdoor enclosure, never jumped the fence. She does like to dig at times, but is sensitive with her paws so when had a stone or other deterrent will stop.
She has nipped the neighbor dog one time when running when she got loose. But not attacked animals. I don't think she should be around cats, we have an outside cat, but we do not leave her off lead.

This is a beautiful throwback. The mission is as valid as it was back then, which is teaching people about wolves and wolf dogs. So many people think these animals are vicious and should be shot on the spot. So very sad.

s.o.s. We are cross posting the request to rehome the following:

PLEA FROM Shadow Rescue Network

We are a newly operating community network for wolfdog rescue, and recently received an urgent rescue request for two upper mid content wolfdogs seeking permanent placement. We believe that with your help we may be able to help.

They are a sibling pair that have been together since puppyhood. The black female (Jade) is 5, spayed, and unable to be homed due to an incident where she attacked the family’s German shepherd through the fence and it resulted in his death. The gray male (Max) is 4, intact, and needing to be placed with her if possible. They are approximately 73-78% wolf per their littermate’s Embark results.

They need experienced handlers. Neither have any training, but are playful and affectionate with their owners. The male is social and playful. The female can be shy, but warms up and is affectionate/playful as well. However, she cannot be around other dogs at this time. Female cannot go to a facility that has shared fence lines.

The owners have been on a rescue waitlist for the last year and when reaching out noted this was their last effort to try to find placement before giving up on them. The breeder was also contacted and refused to help.

Photos are attached. They are siblings to Faelan of and cousin to Ekko of . We have their rescue request form and their parents Embark DNA tests. Would you mind helping us share these two so they can find appropriate placement? Thank you in advance.

December 24, 2023

Greetings from Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption

We hope you can provide financial help to feed, provide safe havens and medical care for our nine wolf dogs that were abandoned by their misguided owners.

The animals live in 4 pens that range in size from 280 by 40, 50 X 50, 70 X 80 and 60X48 feet). We also have a quarantine pen when a health problem arises, which fortunately is not very often.

Two of the dogs have temperments that prevent them from mingling with the other 7 wolf dogs. Thus they reside in the largest pen.

The remaining animals live in the other three pens and are released on a daily basis to romp, sniff and explore in a fenced area of approximately 3 acres.

All the residents are fed twice a day with turkey necks and milk bones in the morning and chicken strips and kibbles in the evening.

Your donation will be used to pay for the food and medical care. None of your donation will be used to pay salaries or property upkeep.

At the present time, Sam Blake personally pays for all of these expenses.

Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption reports annually to the IRS (990n, EIN #421537173).

Please send your donation to:
