The lady got me up real early this morning and took me out in the car without even giving me breakfast! I hoped we were going on an adventure but instead we went to the vet. They poked and prodded and then sent us home. The lady said it was my annual check up and I passed with ease, which makes her happy. She held me and soothed me the whole time we were there, which makes me happy.

Nothing like a good non-rawhide stick to chew! Little Nellie's always in such a hurry to finish, but I prefer to savor the experience.

It's my 7th gotcha dayversary!! 7 years since I left the lab and met my lady. My face is now almost white and my hearing has faded but I love my lady and my easy life filled with treats and walks and cuddles, snoozes and kisses and so much love.

The lady suspects Wayne State University is where I was held captive for 5-1/2 years, and she's begging everyone to please sign this petition. For me, and especially for all the poor doggies who weren't as lucky as me.

It's my birthday!! 13 years old today!! The lady gave me a Beam and an extra long tummy rub this morning, and now I'm all snuggled up and taking a nap with Little Nellie and the kitty cats.

I hope the 4000 Envigo beagles all find good homes so they can be cozy and loved on their birthdays. If only we could rescue all that still languish in laboratories.

It took a while but the lady officially adopted Little Nellie today! She's noisy and messy but not quite so feral anymore, at least not around the lady. I'm glad she's staying, I've gotten attached to her too.

Nellie came to us through BFP but she wasn't from a laboratory; she and another doggie had escaped from an Amish breeder. For anyone who doesn't know, the Amish breed dogs for profit, and are very cruel to the ones who aren't adoptable (and to the ones used for breeding).

Nellie's back is badly scarred; she has big patches where fur won't grow. For a long time she wouldn't let the lady come near but she liked me right away!

So welcome to the family, Little Nellie. Glad you're no longer a feral foster 💖🐕
