Healthy H**p Pet has been the ONLY company ive ever reached out to asking to become an affiliate with.
So, lets talk about it!
I always try my best to be honest AND do my best to give good information to the best of my ability.
I also try to remind people to take ALL information I give with a grain of salt.
So, lets discuss CBD and why I use it, why it may, or may not work for you.
When Cesar was 2 he ended up trying to jump a ditch and hit a dirt wall head on it caused multiple discs in his neck and upper back to slip out of place throughout the rest of his life.
Cesar had a chiropractor for many years which helped greatly, but when he retired, I was unable to find anyone else who was willing to see him.
Cesar also as he aged, developed GERD which left him highly susceptible to stomach ulcers- something prescription pain relievers risked making worse.
Cesar was very limited in his options for relief and while his back only caused him problems once or twice a year, when it happened he would be physically unable to move without screaming in pain.
And our nearest vet is a 30 minute drive away (something that was pure agony for him)
Someone suggested CBD and at that time, it was "CBD- or euthanasia"
I tried a random product I found on Amazon at the time (back when you could still get CBD products on Amazon)
it did nothing and I ended up throwing it out.
I came across an article talking about CBD products being un-regulated and realized how likely it was I got "duped"
I started looking for reputable brands for pets and found Healthy H**p Pet company.
They had dosage instructions (no other company at that point did)
They had ingredients and MG% on the label (other company at that point did)
and they had batch testing publicly available on their website.
I bought a bottle
I talked to our vet
and gave it a try....literally I tried taking some myself before letting Cesar have any😂
and I noticed it wasnt over-whelming it was barely noticeable but it took the "edge off"
and the best way to describe it was if you have ever had caffeine jitters or jitters from not eating and then those jitters just dissolve and you feel like normal.
that was it.
The first time I gave Cesar a dose for his back it took 10 minutes to go from him crying and unable to move to being able to walk
and that ability to walk and relax his muscles would allow his discs to naturally slip themselves right back into place.
I would ice and heat his back for a few days but the CBD did the trick and I was eternally grateful!
When Nickles began to deal with arthritis and morning stiffness I started offering her a dose in the AM
again, it merely took the edge off making her ability to get her joints going again so they could feel relief of moving.
So, perhaps you are interested in trying CBD products for your pet?
Here are a few things to know BEFORE you try:
#1. CBD products have not had a ton of testing, much of the science behind it is limited, small scale. This is absolutely something you need to be mindful of before you consider trying ANY CBD product.
Lack of studies means, CBD products havent been tested across the board on ALL sorts of issues, pets, etc.
CBD products could cause negative reactions in dogs with certain illness's or who are on certain medications and we just dont know because the testing hasnt been done.
Just because it worked for MY pets doesnt mean YOURS wont be negatively affected.
#2. CBD HAS been shown to cause some abnormal liver values.
What that means is- if your dog has been having liver problems or has a history of abnormal liver values, you may be wise to avoid CBD products all together.
#3. CBD products have been shown to cause hyper activity and anxiety in some dogs under the age of 2.
Do you have a 9 month old dog who has anxiety from thunder? You may be better off avoiding CBD products until they are more mature.
#4.CBD can react with other medications so if your pet takes medications (including wormers, flea and tick medications orally, heartworm prevention, etc) to speak to your vet.
CBD can sometimes cause medications to not be fully absorbed OR be absorbed too quickly (depending on the medication)
So, bare-minimum avoid giving CBD within 2-4 hours of any other medication.
#5.
LET YOUR VET KNOW YOUR DOGS ARE TAKING THIS!
Always alert your vet to your pets taking anything.
It may not be a big deal or it may be a REALLY big deal!
speak to your vet before giving it and always let your vet know ahead of time that you give it, how often, etc.
CBD, in my own personal opinion is one of those things that shouldnt be used like a "miracle tonic" its not.
It worked for my pets because it was the RIGHT thing at the RIGHT time.
I would never give my dog who is dealing with an infection CBD and expect it to be "cured" it doesnt work that way.
I wouldnt give my cat CBD who was dealing with diarrhea and expect it to work because it doesnt work that way.
Be mindful
Speak to educated specialists you trust before making any decision.
