Our community has been so generous in helping us provide food for our animals, now we need help providing it to those in our community that need it as well! We have a very important request today: we need food to stock our pet pantry. We've seen an uptick in the need for food from our pantry, and we are nearly completely out of food to stock it with.

Each day, dozens of people struggling financially stop by our pet pantry to grab food for their pets. We don't judge; if your pet needs food, whether it's one time or ongoing, we are happy to offer the food that our shelter pets won't use. Unfortunately, our stock has dwindled and with the holiday season here, more people than ever are looking for our help to keep their pets fed (and keeping them fed means they stay in their loving homes and don't end up in our shelter).

If you are interested helping, we would be so grateful! Here's what you need to know:

💚 We will accept any brand of food for our pet pantry; we're not picky and neither are the pets we're helping.

💙 Have an open bag of food at home that your pets won't eat? We can use it so it doesn't go to waste!

💚 Have a bag of food close to expiring? No worries--it'll get consumed fairly quickly before it goes bad!

💙 We divide up large bags of food into smaller bags, so we can help as many people as possible; so feel free to buy the largest bag you can find and we'll split it up to make it's impact as big as possible.

➡️You can drop off your food donation any time between 11am-7pm now through Friday, or in the mornings between 7-11am and afternoons between 4-7pm this weekend during the holidays.

Dame is a gorgeous girl who is terribly broken inside. She is a puppy mill rescue who is learning how to walk on a leash and accept affection without cowering in fear. She will need a family willing to patiently love her with a gentle voice and calm nature. She is only 4.5 years old and has a long time to figure it out, but she will require the smallest of baby steps. Serious adopters can visit Dame at our adoption center!

🐶SPECIAL NEEDS BOY- SCRUFFY🐶

Scruffy is a 2 year old, about 20lbs, very special sweetie pie from our friends at Macomb County Animal Control🐕

He has been diagnosed with Fly Biting Syndrome/Seizures. Scruffy behaves as though he is constantly trying to catch flies in the air😕

Scruffy loves treats, playing, affection and has quality of life💕

The effects of the syndrome are sad to watch but we believe Scruffy has dealt with this a long time and may not know a different life.

We have consulted with his veterinarian and animal neurology. Scuffy is on medication and there is no “cure” for fly biting syndrome at this time😞

Scruffy is looking for a forever home (or a foster home) that will love him for him🏡

Darlene has placed herself in front of the fireplace in anticipation of Santa coming. All she wants for Christmas is a family. She has been a VERY good girl who loves everyone, and everyone who meets her, loves her. So if anyone deserves her wishes fulfilled, it’s this precious girl. 🌲

Rudy’s Smokehouse is having a Giving Tuesday for the Clark County SPCA on December 5th from 11:00- 8:00 p.m. 50% of all sales comes to the SPCA that day!!! All you have to do is eat there that day and say BEFORE you order that you are there for Giving Tuesday! As we approach our 30th anniversary, we continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and place Dobes into loving, forever homes. These are just a few of the faces of the dogs we have been able to save this year with the help of our volunteers and donors. We bring in dogs of all ages and even dogs with injuries or known health issues. This comes at a cost and we rely not only on our volunteers who GIVE generously of their time but on our generous donors who GIVE to our organization, allowing us to continue our mission.

We take the health of our rescued dogs seriously and they receive immediate and thorough veterinary care which includes a wellness exam, vaccinations, and heartworm/fecal tests. The dog is treated for any medical issues, spayed or neutered, microchipped and placed on preventatives for heartworms as well as fleas and ticks. Some dogs have more serious health issues where they require surgery, extra testing or care from a veterinary specialist.

So far this year, we have brought in 40 Dobes and we are seeing a big increase in the number of dogs waiting to come into our program. Our expenses for veterinary care and medicine have been over $35,000, as of October. That does not include the cost of food, supplements or other supplies for our dogs. Our adoption fees only cover a portion of the cost to save these Dobes. We are an all volunteer organization so every dollar you donate either goes directly to the care of the dogs or to our efforts to get them into their forever home.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider supporting PAAW to help animals in need of finding their furever home! 🐾🐱🐶

From previous support received, PAAW has been able to help Bandit 🖤🤍 find his furever home! Before being rescued, he came from a kitten-killing neighborhood and was close to death himself. PAAW took him and his surviving litter mates in. With some love and care, Bandit was able to heal and ended up finding his furever home with his BFF Cuddles! 😸😸Bandit was adopted by the son of one of our longtime volunteers. 😻
