We all know what an adult pigeon looks like, but would you have recognised this fluffy little beauty as one? He was brought into us with an injury to his leg and our triage nurse identified it as a break. Following veterinary assessment, he is sporting this red cast while the break heals, and we are determined to do our best and give this little one another chance at a life in the wild. He will stay in our bird nursery until the break has fully healed and he is independent enough to be released back to the wild. Some pigeons breed any time of the year, so we see these clever birds being brought in all year round here at Tiggys!

If you are celebrating this weekend, please help spread the word & keep wildlife safe this bonfire night; hedgehogs and many other species of wildlife will see bonfires as a ready-made shelter! So please remember to always carefully turn over and check bonfires before lighting; in fact, it is best not to build a bonfire in advance, or, to move it to a new location just before lighting.
