They say dont ever be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. Some wont disappear, but you can change the way you see them ... it's simply a reminder that you are stronger than whoever tried to hurt you!

Aimee's Story ....
Aimee was found as a stray covered in chemical burns and scars around her paws most likely from being bound. She waited at a municipal shelter for over 1 year until she was rescued. She was thriving in a foster home, even going to doggy daycare and socializing with dogs of all sizes. But then her foster moved and not one person offered Aimee a home. She ended up being warehoused in the now defunct Utica house of horrors for 2 long years - living in f***s, urine, no ventilation and little to no heat or A/C! She was unrecognizable 😞

Where Is She Now...
Aimee is now in foster with Jamie Marie, founder of Ulster County Canines in Saugerties, NY. Aimee just graduated from 8 weeks of sponsored training at Allied Dog Training.

A Message From Her Foster Mom:
Aimee's foster mom writes "Aimee is very EASY to live with...for a dog who has never had her own home who had been lost in the "shelter system" for 4 years and then some ... She will curl up beside me and asked to have her belly rubbed, she will gently mouth my hand to show her appreciation, affection and need for attention. She lays by my feet as I do my computer work, as I respond to potential adopters for other dogs, sadly no one has EVER applied for Aimee and I dont know why? I tell her her time will come, her person will find her, that good things come to those who wait, but for how long! ... She waits patiently by my side as I finish my mid night snack before bed, and yes I give her my last spoonful of ice cream ... "

Are You A Good Fit For Precious Aimee ....
Aimee needs a quiet adult only home without other animals so she can be spoiled and given all the attention she has missed out on her entire life. She is house trained, kennel trained, and obedience trained. There are so many beautiful things to love about Aimee! But nobody will ever know unless someone gives her a chance.

Thank you to all the volunteers that came up from L.I. today to help pitch in with repairs,clean kennels , walks dogs and drop off more donations!!! Its was a great day all around!!! Again I am so taken back with the amount of support we have recieved all for really just doing the right thing by the dogs. ❤

Let this spring season be the start of Aimee's new beginning. She has gone through so much in her life and just wants to lay in the sunshine and smell the blooming spring flowers...
We know her person is out there.. so please give this girl the life she truly deserves!

Aimee's horrific past is now behind her and she is thriving with her foster. Sadly, this is a foster only and it is time for this Amazing girl to have a Forever Family of her own.
Aimee has spent numerous mornings with our friends at Canine Kindergarten socializing with dogs of all sizes. Her dedicated foster has worked on her leash manners and Aimee is doing great. She even had her first one on one doggie playdate with neighbor Coco, and had a blast. They spent the day playing and then napping from all of their excitement ♡ Aimee takes correction well from other dogs, listens to commands and is an all around lovebug.
She will need a dedicated person who will continue with her training and give her the exercise that she needs.

BURNED WITH CHEMICALS, ABANDONED, and now ... LOSING HER FOSTER HOME SUNDAY... She cannot spend one more day in boarding after spending a year in the shelter .

***URGENT PLEA***
We Have days left before she loses her foster!!

Aimee has suffered far too much and for far too long . After being burned with chemicals , spending a year in a shelter where she constantly reopened her wounds, she is losing her foster home through no fault of her own. We have until this Sunday to find her a foster/ forever home or she will end up in boarding . She has been through hell and back and this will only cause her to regress She has spent the last year gaining humans trust and recovering mentally, emotionally and physically . Please help us to help her!

Good with Dogs. Aimee is super affectionate and sweet. sweet. She will require an experienced person who will give her the continued training and structure that she needs.

KEVIN HAS NOW MOVED INTO OUR SAD LONGEST RESIDENT PROFILE PHOTO SPOT
Kevin 16-713. Arrived on 5/27/2014, at 1 year old.
Kevin walks best on leash when he wears his no-pull harness. Kevin has one purpose in life and that is to have a toy in his mouth. If the toy is in the pool, that is even better. Kevin loves to retrieve and if you have another toy waiting, he has even more reason to come back and have that one thrown. Kevin is very focused when you do obedience with him, as long as you reward him often enough with his toy. Kevin also has amazing hunt skill, so if the ball you throw lands in the weeds, he is very good as using his sense of smell to search and search until he finds it. Kevin is very affectionate and would like to spend couch time with you. Kevin has done well at public outings and adoption events. Kevin did find himself into a home for a few months when family circumstances and landlord issues changed. Kevin was living with another dog there, and a home with a future dog will take just the right fit.

3 year old Aimee was brought into the local shelter with chemical burns all over her back and scars around her paws, where she mostly likely had been bound. She waited in the shelter for a year, but no one was interested in giving this sweet girl a home. She is now with Road to Home Rescue Support , living with a loving foster, but desperately needs a home to call her own. Aimee is extremely affectionate and bonds easily. She will need a home with someone who will give her the exercise, structure and unconditional love that she needs. This little girl has a lot of energy but is also happy snuggling on your lap. She is housebroken and also knows basic commands. Aimee has been evaluated and can definitely go to a home with another dog, but a meet and greet is a must. She is currently living with 2 guinea pigs and has no reactivity whatsoever.

Roxanne and Phoebe are a bonded pair that are looking for their for forever home. They are approximately 9 years old and have lived with other dogs and cats before. These two are crate trained (need some work on housebreaking but doing great so far), love to snuggle and are true lap dogs. They are great with people but Phoebe can be a little skittish so a home with older kids (around ten and up) would be best. Savvy younger kids possible on a case by case basis. These two came to us not in the best of shape and are in the process of getting all their medical care taken care of. They are spayed and will be vaccinated. The vet wanted to wait till their skin issues cleared up. They had some hotspots from fleas. They have been treated for fleas with cap star and bravecto and they are now flea free. They both also desperately need dentals and we will be getting that done prior to adoption.
They are currently in foster care in Voorhees, NJ.
