Honey's Rescue Bunnies

Honey's Rescue Bunnies Honey my Rescue Bunny is making a difference... In her honor! I'm a very proud mommy of 8 gorgeous bunnies!
(3)

They only get the best, Burgess pellets & hay, fresh greens! During lockdown I got the opportunity to bottel feed 3 beautiful babies bunnies. I started to volunteer at another reputable rescue group, as I needed help finding THE BEST homes for them and was scared to go at it alone! I was naive & thought they would be adopted in a heartbeat! Reality hit me hard...
A few hutches and runs later and I'm full

I decided to work on Honey's legacy... As she started it all 2 years ago!

Shocked by the numbers? It’s true! Just two unsterilized rabbits can lead to 3.8 million bunnies in only 4 years! 🐰✨

Here’s why sterilizing your rabbit is so important for them and the bunny community:

Prevents Rapid Overpopulation: Female rabbits can start breeding as early as 3-6 months and typically have 8 kits per litter. Without sterilization, two rabbits can quickly multiply into a colony, creating crowded, high-stress environments with in**ed rabbits and weakened immune systems. 🐇💥

Rabbit Rescues Are Overwhelmed: With bunnies multiplying so quickly, rescues are overflowing. Many owners struggle to care for multiple litters or afford sterilization, leading to more rabbits in shelters.

Prevents Cancer: Sterilisation prevents uterine cancer which is a common risk in unsterilised females.

Protects Bunny Health: Mother rabbits often abandon their first litter at four weeks when the next litter arrives, but kits need milk for at least eight weeks to build strong immune systems. This is how continuous breeding leads to weaker babies and health issues across generations. 🌱💔

Improves Behavior: Fixed bunnies are generally calmer, less territorial, and mark less—meaning a happier, more peaceful home for everyone! 🥰💛

Sterilizing your bunny is a loving, responsible choice. It helps them live a happy, healthy life and supports a brighter future for all bunnies. 🌈

Note: Rabbits are exotic animals and need to be sterilized by a knowledgeable, bunny-savvy vet.

I am not a petshop.

I do not sell my bunnies.

I do not just let you come and choose and then take my bunnies.

Each bunny has a name and a story, their own personality. If you are not interested in letting me get to know you, my bunnies are not for you! I've put too much love and effort into each and everyone of them!
If your situation is not an upgrade from here... I'm not interested.
.. and yes...I believe you will take care of them... but do you have the knowledge to keep them healthy and safe 🤷‍♀️ if I don't ask questions I'll never know...

They are not starter pets or a nice to have in your garden! They WILL dig in or even out of your garden and chew on all kinds of plants, whether good for them or not!

If you are not willing to follow my adoption process, please pass on contacting me.

I'll rather work my fingers to the bone than let one of my babies go, if I'm not comfortable with the situation!

Thank you for understanding.

Regards
Ronel

PLEASE NOTE: Current available vaccines are expiring at the end of August. Vaccinate now as we are not sure when new stock will be available again. Rather vaccinate now than wait. For only R550, get your rabbit protected from this deadly disease now. With a mortality rate of 70-100%, it is important to vaccinate. Stock is limited. Please call 011 432 3702 to book your vaccination. Or whatsapp us on 081 311 8974. PS Due to limited stock, we recommend all rabbits that are only due to be vaccinated later the year to rather do it now.
