Perfect Paws 273-365 NPO, established 6 February 2020, was founded as the animal welfare division of NPC - Bainsvlei Gemeentskap Forum. Perfect Paws, as the names suggests, was founded to transform pets into Perfect Paws. This essentially means that the pets are up to date with vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea treatment, and sterilised. They are also healthy and well fed as well as free from
harm, neglect, and abuse. Initially, the organisation was founded to care for the animals in Bainsvlei (a suburb of Bloemfontein, Free State), however, the calls soon came in from all over Bloemfontein, the Freestate in general, as well as the other South Africa Provinces. Soon, we saw a gap in a part of animal welfare that is close to my heart - cats. We saw that in general cats were forgotten or were an after thought. We sought out to change that. We initiated the TNR program to trap, sterilise, vaccinate, and return feral cats to their home - the outdoors so they can continue to keep our environment rodent free whilst not contributing to the overpopulation of our cat community. Things slowly got out of hand for one person to handle and fosters were recruited for the feral kittens caught and the team expanded to include other cat lovers to help us handle the day to day functions of the cats in our care. We sterilised adult ferals, if there are kittens, we remove them, socialise them, and rehome them. If a person wants to adopt a cat from us, they can contact us via email or WhatsApp at 064 665 9791. We will provide the applicant with an adoption form to complete. If successful, we will schedule a homecheck, and the applicants fill in an Adoption Contract and pay an Adoption fee applicable of R850.00 which includes sterilisation (at 6 months), tick and flea treatment and deworming, first vaccinations (1-HCP & 2-FeLV, if old enough 3-Rabisin too), PetLookUp Microchip, and Collar and tag.
