😍𝐘𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐄 ~ 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐃!!😍 Gorgeous ZIVA has found her loving forever home...YAY!!👏🏻🏡❤️ 4 and a 1/2 week old ZIVA, with mom, were living in someone’s yard. Mom kitty was knocked over by a car and sadly she didn’t survive. ZIVA was surrendered to Junaid (Cape Guardian Animal Rescue). We were contacted and she came to us. This poor baby was in awful condition, she was filthy, covered in fleas, skinny and had gunky eyes. After a vet visit and lots of love in foster care, beautiful ZIVA…now known as HAIKU…is adopted and she’s living the best life…yaaaay!!❤️🐈

While the world may not always hear us, our actions speak volumes. 🌟🐱 Here's to never giving up on those who need us most! Thank you for always opening your doors to us at any given time🙏

You're safe now, sweetheart ❤️

Her life might have started off terribly. Hungry, thin, riddled in fleas and clearly has a bad eye infection.

Thank you Junaid and Nasreen for bringing baby to us even though it was dark and late. She is going to heal and grow and get the best family ever! ❤️

🐾 A Wake-Up Call 🐾

We find ourselves knee-deep in kitten season, and it's time to address some hard truths. The kittens we're rescuing are cute, but the circumstances leading to their rescue are far from it.

To the person who so thoughtfully boxed up these kittens, added ventilation holes, and secured it all with tape and dumped them - congratulations, you've demonstrated a level of irresponsibility that's truly unmatched. 🙄

Here's the reality check: Cats can be sterilized even when they're on heat or pregnant. By waiting and delaying this crucial step, you're contributing to the cycle of overpopulation that leaves organizations stretched to the limit.

Let's be clear, every rescue organization is overwhelmed with kittens right now, and it's exhausting. We're maxed out, and frankly, we're tired of the preventable negligence.

We ask this question with sincerity, where were you earlier this year when your cat could have been sterilized at just 8 weeks old? it's about being a responsible pet owner.

Make the responsible choice - spay or neuter them. It's a simple act that ensures they lead a healthy and happy life. 🐾❤️

Declawing isn't a simple nail trim, it's a surgical amputation of a cat's toes up to the first joint. Imagine having your fingers amputated up to your first knuckle - that's what declawing is like for cats. 😿

🚨 We stand against declawing cats. Here's why: 👇

A cat declaw is not simply removing the nail. Rather, it's an amputation procedure where the first "knuckle" of the cat's toes is amputated, removing the claw in the process. Cats who have been declawed may experience the following:

1️⃣ Lifelong pain - They may have recovered from their post-surgical pain, but cats still can experience lifelong pain caused by arthritis in the amputated joints.

2️⃣ Stress - Cats are prone to stress when they cannot adequately express natural behaviors, and scratching is a critical part of their normal behavior. Scratching not only allows for exercise and stretching, but also deposits a scent marker to communicate with other cats. Cats who cannot perform this vital behavior can easily become stressed, which leads to more behavior issues.

3️⃣ Behavior problems - Chronic pain can put vour kitty in a bad mood, and declawed cats may display a negative'spersonality change, along with behavior issues. Declawed cats may urinate inappropriately outside the litter box, e. associating their paw pain with scratching in the litter, and looking for a more comfortable spot to eliminate.

We understand that cat claws can cause problems for cat parents both physically and aesthically in the home. With proper training and the use of scratching posts, you can help your kitty fulfill their instinctual need to scratch while keeping your home intact. Additionally, learning to cut your cats claws using safe and effective nail clippers is another great way of reducing severe scratching to your home decor.

For more questions on declawing, be sure to talk with your veterinarian. While it is an option for some, it is important to be educated on the procedure before deciding if it is right for you and your furry friend.

🚨 URGENT COMMUNITY ALERT FOR LONDON VILLAGE, COLORADO & WELTEVREDEN VALLEY IN MITCHELL'S PLAIN 🚨

We have been alerted to a distressing surge in cat killings within the Mitchells Plain community, notably in the vicinity of Wembley Drive, London Village. The situation is as traumatic as it sounds - innocent cats are being brutally hunted down, their lifeless bodies left as gruesome proof on their owners' lawns.

Last night, towards 11 PM, we took a drive to confront this situation. As we patrolled the area, the haunting reality became apparent - this ruthless killings are orchestrated by a pack of 4 dogs. These dogs are cunning hunters, with an ability to track down your innocent cats. They navigate your community, knowing precisely where these cats reside and where they seek refuge.
And there, in the stillness of the night, we encountered the ringleader of this fearsome canine pack. It was a chilling sight, one that would make you think it was a human orchestrating this horror. But no, it was a dog, a living, breathing creature, leading this campaign of terror.

As we pursued these dogs, waiting for law enforcement to join our cause, we managed to rescue five cats from the clutches of this notorious pack. These dogs were no amateurs; they knew we were on their trail just as they were on ours. They attempted to lead us astray, but we persevered. It was a tense cat-and-mouse game that lasted through the night, eventually leading us to the Samora bridge.

The pack lingered on the bridge for nearly an hour, as we observed, waited, and hoped for their retreat. Our mission was far from over, as we couldn't be certain if they had concealed themselves in nearby shrubs or had already returned to the community. For the safety of the cats, we patrolled London Village, Colorado, and Weltevreden, coaxing cats indoors.

Our mission, while challenging, is fueled by our dedication to the lives of these innocent cats. We eventually concluded our efforts just before 2 AM, as the dogs had seemingly vanished from our sight.

Now, more than ever, we implore all residents to take immediate action to protect your cats. Sterilization is key! It eliminates the natural urge to roam. Provide litter boxes and make your home a safe haven. The streets hold nothing but danger.

Lastly, if these dogs can’t get a cat, what If your kid is next? We urge you to take precaution until this matter is resolved.

For the safety of these dogs, we have chosen not to post their pictures, as this matter is now under the jurisdiction of law enforcement. Regardless of their actions, we believe in a compassionate approach and discourage any form of vigilante justice within the community.

Together, we can ensure the protection and security of all. Please, help us spread this critical message.

HELP! 🗣📢
My cat is stealing my food, I don’t want it anymore, can I drop it off with you?
Our answer is always NO!❌

You cat could be stealing food because their body is not getting enough nutrition.

Buy good quality food and also try to incorporate steamed chicken into their diet at least 1-2 times a week. Remove all bones and shred before feeding – they’ll love you for it.😻

Dumping your beloved pet should never be an option when they are doing something you don’t fully understand. Seek assistance – it is the only way to learn.

An open letter to you, who took in my offspring and gave them the puurfect life.

You took them ever so gently with such glee in your eyes. I'm so happy they'll have a home and be loved. Unlike my last 3 litters that were mistreated, used as bait for dog fighting and run over.

I regret falling pregnant, I wish my owners sterilized me but they wanted me to have 1 litter…1 litter became 4 and now they no longer want me, that’s why I gave birth on the field.

I wish you took me in too, even if it was just to be sterilized and returned, although I sometimes wish I had someone to love me like they love my babies.

The male cats are bothering me again, I can’t fight them off because they are stronger than me, so I will probably have kittens again in a few months, will you take them again?

What about me?
What about me?
What about me?

Thanks to a microchip, a family has been reuinted with their beloved pet after 7 years!

Iza recognized her dad, tail wags, tears and so so much joy came from this moment of reuniting. 😭

Iza went missing from Somerset West in 2015. Her family searched, posted offering a reward but she never came back and was never reported as seen. Junaid found her in Tafelsig being stoned by kids and brought her to us. Whoever found her had not had her checked for a chip. So many years lost. When scanning her, she was microchipped!! 💖😭

Please... microchip your pets, all it takes is for 1 person to pick them up and have then scanned for them to be reunited with you again.
If you find a stray, take them to your nearest vet to be scanned. It could save many tears, lots of heartache and trauma.

Beautiful emaciated Pitbull taken to Animal Welfare Philippi.
Sadly, there wasn’t much we could do, the humane thing was to end his suffering and send him over the rainbow bridge.
He was one of two dogs, both covered in ticks and fleas but he was the weakest. He slept, defecated and urinated in the same spot he rested. The ticks were feasting on him like it was a buffet.
This particular household has 10 cats as well, we might be able to find homes for some but not all, in the interim, we plan on sterilizing all the animals at no cost to the owner to stop the breeding cycle. We will also administer tick and flea treatment for the remaining dog and cats as well as provide food.
Thank you Rescue is Life for covering his vet bill and donating tick and flea treatment.

UPDATE
This sweet girl was PTS…over the rainbow she went.
The vet said her wounds looked more like bite marks - most likely dog fighting...we can only assume.
She had a broken skull, concussion and more underlying illnesses.
She battled to walk and was clearly suffering for too long.
Thank you Cheryl Lyn's Rescue Organisation for giving her so much love, care and a warm place even if it was for a mere 24 hours - that was the best 24 hours of her fragile life!

From Delft to Tableview,
This is my story...

I'm confused.
I thought kids loved dogs,
But they didn't love me.
Instead of showering me with love,
They showered me with bricks.
I haven't eaten,
I'm dehydrated,
In pain and feel defeated.
I just want to curl up and sleep forever.

Cheryl Lyn's Rescue Organisation promised me a brickless future.
I'm so scared... but I'm hopeful for this new journey.
