🐾 1,349 Lives Changed in 2024 🐾

Last year, we achieved 1,349 sterilisations—95% were cats and 80% of those were females. By sterilising 1,025 females, we have prevented over 20,500 kittens from being born in just one year—and more than 430,600 in future generations.

We have worked tirelessly, often showing up past midnight to collect and drop off cats. It has been exhausting, but your patience and support made it all possible.

Let's change even more lives in 2025.🐾

From Forgotten to Loved: Pelican Park’s Success Story 🐾

Look at this incredible before and after!
He was once a stray — neglected, scared, and fighting to survive. Thanks to a compassionate resident who fed him and arranged his sterilization through us, he’s now calm, healthy, and loved indoors.

Why sterilize?
✔ Prevents unwanted kittens.
✔ Reduces fighting and spraying.
✔ Improves health and creates harmony.

When you feed a stray, you give them hope. When you sterilize them, you give them a future.💙 Be the difference.

Sterilizing your male cat isn’t just about reducing unwanted behavior—it’s about saving his life. Take Ash from Heideveld. His owner thought he had a small scab, but once we shaved him, we found a large, painful abscess filled with infection. Without sterilization, it could have led to unbearable suffering or even death.

Many people believe male cats don’t need to be sterilized, but unsterilized males face serious risks like FIV, leukemia, and infections that can spread in fights or during mating, endangering other cats.

Now, imagine your cat roaming the streets, getting into fights for territory, while your neighbour, after a long day of work, tries to unwind. Instead of peace, they hear the yowling and fighting of cats outside their window, night after night.

By choosing to sterilize, you’re giving your cat a healthier, safer life. He’ll stay indoors more, away from harm, and you’ll be protecting other cats too.

Let’s give our cats the love and care they deserve. ❤️

A lifeless kitten next to me in the passenger seat. Just 3 weeks old, and already abandoned—dumped like he didn’t matter. This was supposed to be a routine sterilization run, but here I am again, faced with another innocent life suffering because of choices that weren’t his.

You didn’t sterilize your pet. Maybe you thought it wasn’t necessary, or you wanted just one litter, for the “cute babies.” But now, this kitten is a casualty of that decision. His mother might have given birth, alone and frightened. Or maybe she was discarded because she became pregnant, and you didn’t want the responsibility. The truth is, the animals that end up on the street are victims of the decisions we make.

Every rescue feels like a battle against a tide that never stops. I see animals left starving, scrounging for scraps, just because they’ve grown up and are no longer “cute” or convenient. Females are abandoned when they go into heat. Males are tossed out when they start marking territory. And now, they’re left to fight for survival—alone, hungry, and afraid.

It’s not just the physical toll; it’s the emotional one. I carry the weight of every life I can’t save. The guilt, the helplessness, the depression—it’s relentless. I do this alone, 24 hours a day. When I miss your message, it’s not because I don’t care; it’s because I’m stretched beyond my limit, trying to save as many as I can.

If people just sterilized their pets, so much of this suffering could be prevented. These animals don’t deserve to be abandoned, to be born just to die on the streets. The tiny kitten beside me didn’t ask for this life, but here we are, in this position because of a choice you made.

Next time you think it’s okay to let your pet have “just one litter,” remember this kitten. Remember the lives that suffer because of that choice. Sterilization isn’t just a choice—it’s a responsibility.

Sterilize your pets. Because every time you don’t, it’s a life that suffers. And it’s a burden we carry every single day.

What a day this was! So glad we could be part of this great initiative ❤️

😍𝐘𝐈𝐈𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐄 ~ 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐃!!😍 Gorgeous ZIVA has found her loving forever home...YAY!!👏🏻🏡❤️ 4 and a 1/2 week old ZIVA, with mom, were living in someone’s yard. Mom kitty was knocked over by a car and sadly she didn’t survive. ZIVA was surrendered to Junaid (Cape Guardian Animal Rescue). We were contacted and she came to us. This poor baby was in awful condition, she was filthy, covered in fleas, skinny and had gunky eyes. After a vet visit and lots of love in foster care, beautiful ZIVA…now known as HAIKU…is adopted and she’s living the best life…yaaaay!!❤️🐈

While the world may not always hear us, our actions speak volumes. 🌟🐱 Here's to never giving up on those who need us most! Thank you for always opening your doors to us at any given time🙏

You're safe now, sweetheart ❤️

Her life might have started off terribly. Hungry, thin, riddled in fleas and clearly has a bad eye infection.

Thank you Junaid and Nasreen for bringing baby to us even though it was dark and late. She is going to heal and grow and get the best family ever! ❤️

It’s 2024 and they’re STILL dumping animals.
