The truth is, we are not here to be the heroic rescuers that are dealing with endless horror cases, we are here to prevent it and empower our community to do better.
This job, these animals, this community, our purpose- it is so much greater than just the here and now.... we will not stop and we will continue to make a difference, one house, one animal at a time.
We are hoping to get a small bakkie so that we can make our job a little easier. We are not looking for anything fancy or lavish, just something to help us transport kennels, pick up donations of wood, collect and move the 350+ kgs of food we pre-pack every two weeks.
Since this rescue started, Shane and I have used our personal vehicle and it's time we reach for more functionality, less stress on moving things and get our system even better than what it is now 💜
Please please share our link, help us- help more! 👇👇👇

I wish I could explain what this job does to a person.
From being ready to throw in the towel and completely defeated to finding the strength and motivation to get up and try again all while having normal life and everything else to juggle too:
IT. IS. WILD.

Outreach 30 July 2022 🤩🎉
These are the best days and we just love being with our community.
Some days are better than others, sure, but... We still do our best and we try and help as many as we can.
There are many new faces appearing and lots of new little ones lining up to get their vaccinations whilst others are all complete and ready to be on the beach and all the fun places they have not been allowed to go!
We removed lots of stitches from our recipients of the steri drive & it was a pleasure seeing them all happy & healthy after their surgeries 💪
Our community are asking questions, learning and taking big strides to do better with the little they have - we will keep at this and celebrate the victories ❤️
As always, the amazing Tilly from Animal Welfare Helderberg is a huge hit with our community and we are beyond blessed to have her and the clinic embark on this journey with us!
We handed out many blankets, styled some dogs and puppies with wonderful jerseys that were donated & we rest easier knowing there are less cold bodies out there!
We rallied 350kgs of food and sadly, we turned people away due to selling out but we will do our best to raise 400kgs for August 13th-if ANYONE can help, please reach out ⚠️🙏 We are able to get a 40kg for R450 and we need 10 bags!!!
A huge thank you to our volunteers and wonderful supporters, without you guys we are absolutely nothing.
A mantra we will continue to preach: It takes a village.
Wishing everyone a strong & brilliant week! ❤️
Outreach 4 June 2022 💞
This was such a rad day... Many will ask why we didn't take the precious boy in the video away but the fact is- we will be adding to an already over flooded system, taking a life away when all that needs to happen here is teach, lend a helping hand and not point a finger of judgement.
This gentleman came to us with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart because he cannot feed himself let alone his dog but-that dog loves him endlessly and the bond they share was something we were not willing to break.
We managed to get in 360kgs of food for this ourtreach and it will was all sold out within 30 minutes. R5 per kg is what our community gets charged to show responsibility and we pre-pack 2kg bags. We have had to limit 2kgs for 1 dog as the need is expanding every time we go in but we will keep doing our best to help as many as we can 🙏
Community, this is what you enables us to do, all your support goes into us doing as much as we can to help & educate and you know what??! It is working!
Tilly from Animal Welfare Helderberg comes out with the clinic every two weeks and we get these community members to pay for their vaccinations, treatments and strive for a better future for their animals ❤️
When we pulled up to park in our usual spot there were two massive ques waiting and already at that point-you get goosebumps because you see that they care... Just like we do!
So many wagging tails and precious stories in the making, we will not give up and we look forward to sharing the next outreach story with you all!
Until then... We start with 22kgs in the reserve and need to starting gathering the remaining 338kgs we still need for 2 weeks time-are you or a company you know keen to get involved? You can contact us on Facebook or on 0796292830.
Stay tuned for updates on Poncho & all the work we do, it takes a village and we are so very grateful for everything you all do for us!
❤️

Transformation Story 😇
We met Chico on one of our outreaches a couple weeks ago, he was struggling to put on weight despite the good food his family had bought him, he had been dewormed but still refused to eat much food.
He was already showing signs of rickets because of malnutrition, his gums were pale, he was getting sick and was extremely weak …. Immediately we thought PARVO 😓
Unlucky for us his owner wasn’t home, and we had to leave after explaining to the family we wanted to offer help but he needed to stay with us untill he got better and stronger IF he survived. 🙏🏻
BUT his owner called us as soon as he got home and agreed that we could take Chico to the vet and get him seen to. Lucky for this little guy it wasn’t parvo just really bad nutrition but a bit of chicken solved that problem 😅
His owner checked in often and we were able to organise to close his yard and give him a big warm kennel for when he is big enough to be outside.
This is the before and after - I mean WOW, a little love and lots of food later - Thank you to our amazing foster team that make these transformations possible 💜
This is our last try for our Zulu girl💔
We have posted and posted... Yet not one application for her.
This incredible cat was thrown in a rubbish dump and left to die at 3 weeks of age (completely feral) and look at her now 😍
Zulu is 4 months old, sterilized and beyond precious but sadly my foster cannot keep her forever and it's time she gets her very own place to call home.
She is witty, full of beans and would thrive in a home full of love and understanding. 🐾
Zulu likes to play with her canine foster sibling, she enjoys brushes and cuddles (as you can see) 💕
Can you imagine being trapped in a rubbish bin left in pure darkness and then learning to trust and love again? I couldn't but this little one could and did.
Please share Zulu far and wide - it is beyond heart breaking to know she is not wanted 😭 she deserves a chance at a happy forever.

Gorgeous Athena - a strong name for such a brave young girl 💖
She was surrendered to us as her owner had to move away for work. She has come so far while being in foster care, her anxiety is under control but is still learning to trust new humans, but she warms up very quickly 🤩
She is crazy about walks and playing in the garden . She loves children and playing with her K9 friends 🐶
She is about 9 months old and ready for her forever home. She will do best if she has some company during the day, even if someone is home on and off or not gone the full day.
Our adoption fee is R650 and it includes;
💉Vaccinations up until the point of adoption
💊Dewormer

Another set on paws crossed the rainbow bridge today💜
Today we had an unexpected goodbye - Cleo, who we have helped care for, for over a year crossed the rainbow bridge, but not without her last few spoils 💖😭
Our hearts are sore, your spot will be empty every time we look for you on outreach but we know you are in a better place.
Sweet dreams our precious Cleo 😇
Thank you to our team for being there with me today, this was an exceptionally hard goodbye.
Every two weeks we go out into the community to provide a cheaper food solution, free education, some medical treatment and assistance to animals.
We currently go through 350kgs of food every visit and we are desperately looking for some assistance 🙏⚠️⚠️
We understand this is a big ask but without you... We cannot do this.
You can DM us for a drop-off point address, alternatively if you would prefer to send through a donation please see our details below:

Outreach 02.04.2022 🐶
After a stressful week of trying to make sure we had enough food, medical supplies, volunteers and all the extras that go into outreach, we did it!
There is always a need for more food, no matter how much we seem to collect - but some is better than none. We limited the bags of food and figured out which entrepreneurial children were using our food for their advantage - we have to admire their whit.
We are still in need of kennels, blankets, beds / cushions, collars, leashes and harnesses. We get asked almost daily and have run out of all supplies.
We were very busy with the clinic, we did loads of vaccinations, which owners pay for themselves, tick and flea spray and deworming and as always education, education, education 📚
If you are able to sponsor anything towards our outreach’s or would like to volunteer in anyway, please contact us on 0832347430 🤩
A massive THANK YOU to everyone that donated and continuously supports us - it’s not an easy job but you make it possible 💖
