URGENT FOSTER NEEDED NOW for old boy Max (10) and Chloë (2), who need building up with good food so they can re-build their health and strength, upliftment is dependent on help!

It's not clear why they are so malnourished as their family said they fed them, but they are very thin and de-conditioned.

Max and Chloë are good friends but Max needs to be separate from other dogs, but he's very calm, relaxed and quiet, whilst Chloë has lots of energy as she's younger.

Please contact Amanda on 084 287 5050 if you can help, they need help URGENTLY, and please share!!!

Alternatively, if you can Sponsor their food, flea & tick and worming costs, that would be a blessing.

URGENT Foster & Forever Homes needed for dogs in need NOW, please offer your home and your heart if you can.

Rescuing an animal is one of the most rewarding privileges in the world and the boundless love you will receive in return is priceless.

I've been rescuing and re-homing dogs for over 7 years and with so many being abandoned and neglected, capacity is at an all-time high and it's impossible to continue without your help.

Those needing homes include:

Miri (black female with bat ears) who was hit by a car and needed extensive medical treatment to fix her hip, pelvis and leg, she is a playful jumping bean!

Ollie (male Corgi-ish with a stick) who didn't get on with the dogs in his household as he prefers to be an only dog, he's very loyal and independent and needs a calm home.

Rafi (ginger male) who is very gentle, calm and quiet and who relishes his new life in a loving home.

Monica (black and white female) who was badly burned with boiling water, but who is very loving and friendly despite the abuse she has suffered.

Foxy who I found soaking wet at a motorway service station in the pouring rain, covered in ticks, who is the best sleeping partner ever as she's still as a rock and is always smiling!!!

If you are a needle in a haystack, who truly knows how to love a life and to be there for that little soul no matter what, where they are an irreplaceable part of your family, please contact me on 084 287 5050 and I will match you with the right dog for you.

There is no charge to a rescue a dog from me, but a rigorous application process and strict home checks naturally apply.

Alternatively, if you would like to sponsor our approximately monthly running costs of R1,000 for a dog and R700 for a cat, contribute towards our vet bills or donate whatever is on your heart, you can donate through the link below.

😭💗😭

And people say animals have no feelings and cannot grieve. We had a vervet monkey in our garden that also had a dead baby and she also carried it around for weeks. Totally heartbreaking.

Read 👇🏻 below:

“The duel of Natalia, the chimpanzee who carried seven months with the lifeless body of her cub
🐒❤️ For seven months, Natalia, the chimpanzee of Bioparc Valencia, carried the body of her deceased baby. She looked after him and carried him in her arms as if he were still alive. 😢 The Bioparc respected her grieving process and let her decide when to release her infant/ baby. 🕊️ On September 21 she finally did, leaving behind a mass of dry skin and bones, but during that time, for Natalia, that body was still her baby. Grief is not just human.”

URGENT FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR 2 DOGS WHO LOST THEIR MUM!!!!!

Ariella & Zoë are in urgent need of a new home as the Mum of the only family they have ever known sadly passed away 4 months ago.

Carla left behind 3 children and a loving husband, they are having to downsize to a 2 bedroom apartment which doesn’t allow pets and are currently unemployed.

It is the owner’s heartfelt wish that a kind soul will take their beautiful dogs and give them a loving home.

Zoë is a 4 year-old brindle Staffi mix (left) rescued at 8 weeks old by a construction worker who heard a sad whelping and yelping noise and who followed her voice.

In doing so, he found 2 men sitting around a fire, having put barbed wire around her neck and tied her to a pole.

When he asked them what was going on, they told him they were going to eat her, at which point he reached in his pocket, gave them R200 and told them he was taking the dog.

Unable to keep her as he had 6 dogs already, the family’s daughter offered and Zoe became sister and companion to Ariella, an 8 year old black Shar Pei cross (right).

Ariella’s story is thankfully not so tragic as she was rescued from a farm worker who couldn’t afford to feed a litter of pups and she became the family’s first dog.

They are not cat-friendly, Ariella is an avid hunter of anything that moves and they have never been socialised with other dogs, but could be given the chance.

Ariella & Zoë need a loving and stable home together to be a support for each other during this transition.

Zoë needs additional support as she suffers from separation anxiety as a result of her trauma but she’s extremely loving, just wants to be close to her person and has been an absolute joy and blessing.

This is a really sad case that needs a happy ending and for Zoë and Ariella to begin a new adventure as they heal from this loss.

Both sterilised, with up-to-date inoculations & Zoë is micro-chipped.

Please contact Amanda on 084 287 5050 if you can foster or offer a forever home and if you can’t, please share 🙏

Also, we need a Sponsor (Sponsors) for the boarding fees whilst their forever home is found for R1,750 per dog per month, payment can be made directly, please WhatsApp me for details if you can help.

24/09/2024

Dear animal lovers, I am reaching out for help with Pookie's vet bills, which have to be paid in full by the end of this month.

A young girl called me one evening in June asking for help with a puppy she rescued from someone who sold animals to fund his addiction.

Pookie was fine initially, her feisty character was coming out, she was experiencing a great life and was happy, loved and safe.

By the time she contacted me, Pookie was barely alive and needed immediate help, but without money, no-one would get involved.

I convinced my vet to walk in faith as she promised to pay the bill in instalments, I said I would help raise funds and Pookie was whisked off to the emergency vet.

Pookie survived 3 nights on a drip, but tests showed that she had an obstruction in her stomach and her organs were failing.

The vet gave her a 30% chance and even if she survived, recovery would be very hard and he didn’t want to put her though it.

There were many red flags, operating on her filled the vet with dread and he advised us to end her suffering.

I could hear Pookie saying “Let me die” and this, together with the vets dread, caused us to feel that we should let her go.

As we were coming to a decision, she started to have seizures and it was too late to save her.

This was such a distressing rescue, the girl who rescued Pookie lost her job but the vet bills have to be paid even though we didn’t win this time.

There’s never any guarantee, but 97% of the time we win.

It's very rare for a vet to walk in faith with someone and we have to honour this by paying this bill and showing that their trust wasn't in vain.

This bill has to be paid so that both the vet and I can be there for other people and animals in their time of need.

Fundraising is a critical part of rescue and we can only do this together.

We need 8 Sponsors at R1,000 ($60 or £44) each or whatever amount you feel on your heart to assist with.

If you prefer to pay the vet, the invoice is attached below but please WhatsApp me so I can ensure the account is credited correctly.

We must keep shining our light no matter what and keep moving forwards in hope and faith, knowing that we make a difference to every life we touch.

Please support us so we can continue to bring light to all those who cross our paths.

With deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks,

Amanda Lighthouse

***👏🙏🥳 AWESOME NEWS UPDATE!!!🥳🙏👏*** The huskies are safe and happy and all together in a lovely big space with a big garden and a dam to cool down in. We weren't able to find suitable fosters in the timescale we had to move them in but God's way is the right way and He knows best!!! Thank you for everyone who shared their post and to the Sponsors who are funding the boarding, you guys are amazing and we couldn't do it without you. Thank you for helping to keep these pups safe whilst their family get back on their feet. They have visited them every week since the beginning. Please hold prayers for them to all be reunited soon!!!

***URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR 3 SENIOR HUSKIES BY WEDNESDAY!!!***

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN, WE HAVE TO MOVE 3 HUSKIES BY THURSDAY AND WE HAVE NOWHERE FOR THEM TO GO, WE SERIOUSLY NEED A MIRACLE!!!!!

Our backs are against the wall but we are continuing to move in faith and praying for the right people to reach out so we can match the right dog to the right home.

2 girls Lee & Ghost aged 10, Lee more nurturing, Ghost an alpha female and Ash, very chilled out, relaxed and loving male age 12.

The family are enduring hard times, having lost their business during covid and need a little time to get back on their feet.

They are both professionals so please God this won't take long, but right now, we need to get the dogs to safety.

They can't have dogs where they are currently, but they are in the process of looking for somewhere dog-friendly.

Please contact Amanda on 084 287 5050 if you can help.

Alternatively, long-shot, if anyone has any accommodation which would be suitable for 3 huskies and 2 adults in the Northern Suburbs that they would be able to bless this family with in exchange for a reasonable rent and/or an exchange for security, video production and photography basic odd jobs such as painting and farm work, that could work too.

***URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR 3 SENIOR HUSKIES BY WEDNESDAY - WE NEED A MIRACLE!!!***

I've been helping a lovely family with their 3 senior huskies, 2 girls Lee & Ghost aged 10 and Ash, male age 12 and we need an URGENT FOSTER BY MONDAY 16TH!!!!!

If we have to separate, we would ideally keep the 2 girls together and separate Ash as this would be the best combination.

The family hit hard times, as many people did, and lost their business and job and need a little time to get back on their feet.

They are both professionals so please God this won't take long, but right now, we need a miracle so we can get the dogs to safety and make sure they are comfortable, happy and loved.

The family will provide everything necessary, we just need someone to provide their heart and their home for the short-term to get them through.

The family are currently staying with their in-laws hence why they can't have the dogs with them, but are in the process of looking for somewhere to live where they can be united.

Please contact Amanda on 084 287 5050 if you can help.

URGENT SPONSOR(S) NEEDED TO KEEP 3 SENIOR HUSKIES & THEIR FAMILY TOGETHER!!!

https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/sponsors-3-huskies-their-family-to-stay-together

When I originally posted this request, we managed to get 3 amazing sponsors to cover the costs of a lovely boarding home for the huskies whilst their family get back on their feet.

Both the family and the Owner of the dog boarding home walked in faith with me before we raised the funds and she allowed us to bring them, without payment, believing in our vision.

One lady sponsored a R1,000 ($56 / £43) one-off donation, another lady sponsored R2,000 ($110 / £86) per month and the third lady sponsored R3,000 ($166 / £129) per month - we were blown away by their kindness!!!

This enabled us to cover the dogs fees which we were blessed with at a massively reduced rate, and the dogs are all together and have their own private garden.

It also bought the family time when they had to move out of their home and in with their in-laws due to losing their business over the hardships of the last few years.

It dawned on me that 1st prize would be for everyone to stay together by using this money to go towards rent so I asked the permission of the 2 Sponsors and they said yes!!!

The family are able to contribute R2,000 ($110 / £86) per month and they can also cover bills and food.

The 2 Sponsors are able to cover R5,000 ($276 / £215) per month ongoing between them, making the current total R7,000 ($386 / £301) per month.

Therefore, they are already 70% towards being reunited and being able to rent a new home and we only need sponsors for the final estimated R3,000 ($166 / £129) towards rent.

They are both professionals, Mickey is a teacher and Gareth works in video production and security, and it is therefore anticipated that they should be back on their feet soon, please God.

They were not able to take their dogs to their in-laws for various reasons and the separation has been incredibly difficult, for Gareth in particular, as he's had all of them since babies.

This was obviously a heart-wrenching decision but the dogs are cared for and things are beginning to look up.

We need 3 Sponsors to bless this family for R1,000 ($50 or £40) each per month for the next 6 to 12 months or alternatively, any amount will be gratefully and gracefully received.

Payment can be made directly to the landlord once they find somewhere in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town, South Africa, and if you would like to verify authenticity, I have included the details of my rescue sanctuary on the funding page and you can also call or even video call me.

Leigh & Ghost are aged 10 and Ash, their Dad is about 12.

There were originally 4 huskies, but sadly, 15 year old Jet, Mum to Ghost & Leigh, crossed over, as her cancer had spread and it was felt that this upheaval would be too much for her.

Please contact me directly (details in the link above) if you prefer to make a direct payment and please share!

I’m sorry, I have to give people a reality check.

I’m so tired of seeing posts from people saying they they found a dog on the street and took it home but they can’t keep it because of blah blah blah bu****it reason.

Instead of helping, people do all sorts of awful things to pass the “problem” onto someone else to the point that those who do help are drowning.

One thing people do is take the dog to a vet and leave it there, passing on the “problem” to someone else.

The vet, not wanting to deal with the “problem” either, and being too “busy”, then call the SPCA to collect.

Of course, the SPCA don’t want to deal with the “problem” either so in most cases, unless they can make money from it, will solve the problem quickly by euthanising.

So next time you “rescue” an innocent soul who looks to you for help, instead of driving a dog to their death, please reach into your heart to stand in the gap instead.

Make a commitment to that dog to find a place of safety whilst you figure out a plan.

If you’re too busy to save a life, I have to question whether you’re deserving of your own.

Sorry to be harsh but there’s nothing of greater importance than the safeguarding of a life that has been placed in your hands.

If you can’t make a plan, why should anyone make a plan to help you when you’re in need?

I’m so over people, the human race has lost its humanity and great shame hangs over the world.

This is exactly why God is angry and why we are in the mess that we are in.

Every single person needs to get a grip of themselves and wake up to what’s really important.

Rescuing a dog is an honour, privilege and joy, they love you to the moon and back and your heart balloons with the knowledge that you’ve made a difference.

I encourage you to try it, these are the things that make life worth living.

*****👏🙏🥳 AMAZING NEWS UPDATE 🥳🙏👏 - Rooney has finally found his PERFECT home, and when I say PERFECT, I mean MOST PERFECT HOME EVER!!!!!

I saw Rooney's perfect home in a vision a couple of hours before the person called me and when they told me where they lived, I just knew!!!

Plus, I had already qualified this family as perfect 7 months earlier but the time wasn't right and things were uncertain but 7 months later, this amazing family moved into their dream home and Rooney moved with them!!!!!

Horses, hectares, dog friends and the best humans ever, Rooney has it ALL, and boy does he deserve it!!!!!

Rooney is a testament to never giving up, God bless you Rooney, may He return to you all the years you lost and lavish you with so much love that you forget all the hard years, all the heartache and all the hardships you endured.

I love you to the moon and back Rooney and so do so many others, you have friends you don't know you have and so so so many of them, all of whom were rooting for you!!!!

We love you Rooney, God bless!!!!!*****

Rooney's life is hanging in the balance and he needs an URGENT Foster or Forever home NOW as he is losing weight due to kennel stress.

Rooney is a gentle, quiet, 10 year old who has been stuck in a kennel for almost 9 months, having been rescued from a tiny cage where he somehow ended up after his family moved.

These pictures show his journey over the last 3 ½ years and you can see the hardship and suffering he's been through.

He is fine around some dogs, no cats, was great with children age 5 and 8 in his original home and needs a strong owner (I prefer to use the term Trusted Guardian), as he's a powerful dog.

Please help Rooney to be born again into a life of comfort, safety and ease, so he can live out the rest of his days in peace.

In January he had some skin cancer removed and the follow-up appointment a month later showed that everything was clear.

If anything further is required for him, there is a Sponsor that would be happy to contribute and support.

If you can help this very deserving boy, whether Foster or Forever, please contact me on 084 287 5050

May God bless Rooney with a new family who will love him back to life and give him all the happiness in the world, so much that he forgets the hardships of the last 3 years.
