Some things to consider when you bring a puppy into your life.
Don’t let them cry it out. They’re young and lacking a sense of security. The more secure they feel, the more confident they will become on their own and therefore less likely to cry.
Set up their environment so they can’t be ‘naughty’. A lead isn’t just for walks. Use one in the house. I promise it will help.
Let them sleep more. Or set aside time to sit with them until they fall asleep. Puppies need a lot of it. Encourage sleepy time much more than crazy time.
Carry a long tug around with you in the house. If you stand up and move around and they come charging over trying to bite something, encourage them to bite the tug, not your leg.
Little things can be very scary for them. Don’t fuss over them, scold them or complain ‘it’s just a lamp!’ Just be there with them, like you would just be there and listen to a mate that’s going through a bit of a rough patch.
Be patient with them. English (or any language) isn’t a second language to them. They learn from the consequences of their behaviour, not the words on their own.
Have fun. They’re puppies. They grow up very quickly.
Good luck.
