These include more rods in their retina, larger pupils, a lens that is closer to the retina and a tapetum lucidum, which reflects light, allowing for better night vision.

DEWORM YOUR PET FROM A YOUNG AGE

Worms are common parasites that your dog may carry, often without showing signs. They can cause serious diseases in pets and also in people.

It is important to ensure adult dogs and cats are dewormed every 3 months. Puppies should be dewormed once a month, from 2 to 6 months of age.

WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY

Today we celebrate all pet heroes who donated blood. Did you know your pet can become a hero when donating blood as they can help us in saving the lives of sick and injured pets?

Dog blood donors need to be:
🐶 1-6 years of age.
🐶 Be of a healthy weight for the breed.
🐶 Be more than 25kg.
🐶 Be healthy.
🐶 Have up-to-date vaccinations, deworming and tick & flea treatments.
🐶 Have a calm temperament.
🐶Not be on chronic medication.
🐶Not had any previous blood transfusions.

Cat blood donors need to be:
🐱 1-8 years of age.
🐱 FIV and FeLV negative
🐱 Must not be suffering from any chronic condition
🐱 Minimum 4kg weight, but not overweight
🐱 Calm temperament

If your pet meets these requirements, contact your vet to find out how your pet can save another pet's life!

Any human that has had any interaction with pets and kids will realise there are quite a few similarities between the two. This includes constant bickering and fighting, especially in the back of the car.
