Did you know that Spirocerca lupi is a type of roundworm that’s red in colour and 40–70 mm long?
Dogs become infected when the worms lay their eggs through the oesophageal nodule which are swallowed and passed out in faeces. The eggs contain the larvae and have the shape of a paperclip. Dung beetles ingest Spirocerca eggs present in the faeces and dogs are infected when they eat the infected dung beetles or other hosts animals, like birds or lizards, which ingested an infected dung beetle.

This pooch tried to enhance his smile, after saying cheese it was concluded that getting a bone stuck in your mouth was not the best idea. Dr Scholtz had to safely remove this bone, restoring a beautiful natural smile 😁

Mr Blue came to see Dr Scholtz for a ear clean. Poor boy has a very bad infection and had to under go anesthetic to be flushed, blue has gone home a happy dog 🐕

The tale of Bruno who got himself trapped in a hole at the end of a tunnel under a building.
Dr Frank had to assist in sedating him to rescue him from this small place, where he found himself trapped and bring him back out into the world.
At the end Bruno got out safely and is one happy dog! A day ending in victory!
