My name is Mariska Burger and this is my story:

2020 was a very difficult year for me. Besides COVID, which affected everyone, I lost my dearest mother. While working through her loss, and in seeking advice, I was asked the question - "List 3 things you are most passionate about in Life". I was then told to LIVE my Passion. I didn't really understand how I could make this happen until recently.

My husband and I currently have 2 fur babies, Mailey & Nonna (Maltese beauties & our Brand Ambassadors) and the love I have for them is unconditional. I have been a dog lover since I was a little girl (I grew up with 2 B. Collies and 2 Maltipoo's). M&N have a weekly "grooming" routine, a time that I enjoy so much as it truly is a unique bonding experience with my fur babies. I'm very pedantic with our two girls. M&N only receive Acana or Orijen dog food and treats, and they are only groomed with Pure Paws products, with exception to the little things like toothpaste and tear eye cleaner etc. It's always been about what will be best for them, what will protect them and what will provide them with the best and longest life expectancy. My brother and his wife also have 2 Maltese babies, Simba and Missy, and I use to offer to groom them when they went away for a weekend. Our dearest neighbours and friends have 2 Pomeranians, whom I also pester and have had the privilege to groom. And lastly, my in-laws have a soft hearted Bouvier, Enya and a wild 'little' 11kg Pekingese cross Pitbull, Bubbles, whom too, have loved their grooming days. All these memories hit me a couple of weeks ago and I asked myself the question, why not offer this service to more than just friends and family. I can spread the pawsome love in a much broader fashion during my free time. I CAN, LIVE this passion. My husband and I brainstormed, and we made the decision. So, I will be offering a Spa experience for all Small & Medium sized fur babies, from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon every week. They will be shampooed, conditioned & massaged, teeth brushed, nails clipped, sprayed with coat strengthening and repair spray and blow dry all while being treated with Orijen or Acana treats and loads of licks and kisses. Only Pure Paws Shampoo, Conditioner and Spray will be used. Please note, this will not be a grooming service in terms of shaving coats - I am not a professional groomer (yet) but I will be cleaning, spoiling and advising based on personal experience. As a fur baby owner, you can expect:
▪︎ 1 on 1 attention - service available by confirmed appointments only.
▪︎ NO CAGES - Personally, I don't like the idea of dogs in cages.
▪︎ NO bowties or strikkies - through personal experience and opinion, the fur babies don't like these. Special services and special requests are welcome, I will assist as best I can - check out our packages for more info. Barks & Bubbles Doggie Spa
Origin of the name:

Barks - Anyone who knows our girl Mailey, knows how much and how high pitched her bark can be 🤣

Bubbles - Well, my husband and I have a thing for bubbles, so much so that we convinced his mother to name their youngest fur baby, Bubbles. Slogan - Passion for Paws (it speaks for itself). Well, there you have it. That's my story. I hope I get to meet your fur baby soon, and please know that he or she will receive all the love and attention I have to offer during their Spa experience. Dear fur babies and 2 legged Clients 😄🐕💛

I'm so sad to report, that due to Sasol Shutdown (and this fur baby mommy having to work full time), our Barks & Bubbles Spa will be temporarily closed.

We will be reopening on the 8th of October 😁🥰🐕

Missing all my fur clients already 😢🐕💛

Dear all valued B&B fur baby owners and clients 🐾💛

As most of you know, I have a full time job during the week, and due to Sasol September Shutdown
❌ Barks & Bubbles will be closed for 6 weeks ❌
Unfortunately I will be working Shutdown shifts during this period 📛

The last appointments will be on the 21st of August and then appointments will resume again on the 8th of October 🐶

For my monthly fur babies, please make sure you book well in advance to avoid your fur baby missing out on their pampers 🐾💛

I would like to thank D Duke Photography from the bottom of my heart, for driving through all the way from Pretoria, to do the Competition shoot with us this weekend 📸🐾 the images are amazing and so many special moments were captured 🥰🐶
All the fur babies loved him, he got wet, he lied on the floor for perfect shots, he cuddled with them and got loads of Licks of Love in the process too. His deep love for fur babies shown through during his interaction and patience with them 😊
