UPDATE: WE ARE SO HAPPY, WE DANCING AND CRYING AND LAUGHING! LOVELY PRINSI HAS FOUND AN AMAZING HOME!
Thank you Izandie and family! We are truly grateful!
💕🐾This girl is just amazing!!!🐾💕
In her short life of about 8-9 months, she was most likely dumped, suffered some rather serious injuries, and still didn’t lose hope and trust that humans can be kind creatures!
Prinsi, we are so happy to be with you until we find the best home for you!
Prinsi has silky, silver-grey fur and a faint tinge of orange but these are not the foremost attributes to mention about her!!!
She is a very modest girl and one of the cleanest cats we have ever encountered. Her toilet litter always piled up neatly in a pyramid with no spills!!! She enjoys her food, especially knowing that it's there and that she doesn’t need to beg for it!
Tina, her foster was able to form a close bond in a super short time and Prinsi revealed her loving and chatty nature! She actually loves flirting with everyone!
Prinsi is a happy girl who fits in. She is calm and patient when her foster mum is busy, loving and chatty when she gets attention, and busy discovering her playful nature.
Being used to the outdoors she would love a safe garden or farm environment with family attachment. She wants to be loved but again she is very modest.
We believe that she will get used to dogs or fellow cats pretty easily.
Since intake, she literally has gone through a whole body “revamp” from deworming, 3in1, and rabies vaccination and sterilization.
Now after a week she has just been through her second surgery and we are so proud of her!!!! This is a lot for a young cat, 2 surgeries in a week. but it was safe to do so, and she is healing very well. She has some swelling but that’s all normal. The eyesight in the right eye remains (that can be a risk with surgeries like that). the eye socket is closed now after cleaning the inside to prevent infections in the future.
Prinsi is just the whole package and w
Kitten season is here, and it’s one of the busiest and most challenging times for rescues everywhere. From early spring through late autumn, countless kittens are born, many without homes or care. Our local rescues are overwhelmed and need your help to save as many lives as possible.
Here are a few ways you can make a difference:
1. Foster a Kitten: Even if you can only foster for a short time, every spot counts. Fostering helps keep kittens safe and gives them a chance at adoption.
2. Donate Supplies or Funds: Rescues rely on donations to provide food, litter, medical care, and other supplies. Check with your local rescue for their wishlist – every little bit helps.
3. Volunteer Your Time: Whether it’s helping with events, cleaning, or socializing kittens, your time is incredibly valuable.
4. Spread the Word: Share posts from local rescues about available kittens or needs. Raising awareness is an easy but powerful way to support.
5. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Programs: Reducing the number of stray kittens starts with TNR. Support local TNR efforts or contact a rescue to learn how to get involved.
Together, we can make kitten season a little easier for rescues and save countless lives. Reach out to your local rescue today and see how you can help! 🐾💕
💕🐾Prinsi (Prinses), our one-eyed kitty is full of love and affection!!!
She had her first vaccinations and is dewormed. She will be spayed, and her eye will be checked this week.
After being uplifted from the streets of Hluhluwe, she has settled in nicely. She is about 8-9 months young, has wonderful silky fur, and loves attention. She has a chatty nature. She prefers to sleep in the catio at this stage but after so many months on the road its not surprising that she is overwhelmed by kind people, comfy cat beds, and ample food available.
Prinsi deserves a loving home, where she can go outside during the day in a safe environment like a garden or farm.
She is a bit scared of dogs but if introduced slowly with time she will be fine around dogs. We don't know how she is with other cats but again, usually, it just takes some time and patience💕🐾
She needs to be kept indoors after adoption for a couple of weeks to make sure she has bonded with her new family situation.
She is a very grateful kitty who cant believe that she has a safe place and doesn't need to beg for food. (Her hunting skills are a bit compromised due to being one-eyed.)
If you want to be Prinsi's saviour please contact Tina on Whatsapp 082 790 4666.
Adoption rules apply, though we will only ask for a small adoption fee to contribute to her treatment. Our priority is a loving home that considers her needs🐈⬛💕🐈⬛

Hello Prinses and welcome at Hluhluwe - Paws & Claws
We are so happy that we were able to trap you after several failed attempts yesterday!
Suddenly you appeared on the streets of Hluhluwe and being one-eyed, you tried your luck finding food between the vendors who rather treated you kindly.
Prinses, we don't know what ordeal you had to endure but you haven't lost your trust in humans!
We will make sure that your future looks bright and happy!
😻😻
Prinses is about 8 months old and in remarkably good condition for being a stray. She has an old wound on her upper hip/leg that healed well.
She had her first rabies vaccination and is dewormed. In the next few days, we will treat her eye socket and spay her.
She doesn't seem to have any pain though.
Kittens are sometimes born without one or both eyeballs which can be caused by the mutation of a gene carried by one of the parents. It is possible that she lost they eye due to injury and we will have more clarity next week.
Prinses has adapted well to her little handicap, but she lacks the perception of depth and that makes her very vulnerable on the streets.
One-eyed cats are very smart and sharp-witted and have amazing personalities!!
She will need a loving home soon! We will keep you posted😻
Welcome to our new intake Bamboo😻
He was uplifted from Mbazwana yesterday after he was found in a shop. The owners fed him bread and water so luckily a good soul brought the little boy to Hluhluwe.
Very dirty and bit spicy.😅
After an initial bath and a good meal he settled in nicely.
Bamboo is probably around 5 weeks old but only weighs 370 g. Despite this, he is a very brave and smart kitten with beautiful markings. He will get the best care possible in Tina's nursery. First plan is weight gain and vet check before he receives his first vaccination.
Bamboo will be ready for his new home in the next 2-3 weeks. Adoption rules apply. If you like to prebook Bamboo or would like to meet him WhatsApp Tina on 082 790 4666 for more info😺🩵🐾🐾
Update: Snowy has found a home!
❤️🐾Adoption alert!
Snowy was rescued yesterday in Hluhluwe and is looking for her forever loving home. She is estimated around 10 weeks old. Not sure what cross-breed but she might become a medium-sized girl. After an initial bath, she was seen by the vet and had deworming and flea treatment.
Please note that she is not in Paws&Claws care at present but home check and a fee to cover costs will apply. Sterilization proof has to be provided latest when she is 6 months old.
If you would like to adopt Snowy, please whatsapp Melissa on 072 320 6081 for more info on her.
UPDATE: FATOU HAS BEEN ADOPTED
🐾😻🐾Tina's bottle babies doing very well and with 5.5 weeks they are pro's in the toilet department and start to master eating from the dish less messy.
While we have great homes lined up for 3 of them, we still looking for the pefect match for our little Fatou boy. He is a very smart kitten and super affectionate and is always up for a cuddle and a chat.
For more info on Fatou please whatsapp Tina on 082 790 4666. Adoption rules apply.
Our bottle babies had a bit a gender transformation this week😅 and doing really great so far.
Flores, Felini, Fergus and Fatou are now just over 2 weeks old and putting nicely weight on, sporting super cute avocado bodies😅😻
