Axl and Diane searched for this super cute cat on the weekend and the post says it all!

Thang is not a cat who adventures but one night after visitors he made a duck for it. His parents called us fast and we responded. Axl narrowed down the area to an area in the complex and we advised on luring.

We got this message later: “Hi Diane;
We finally found him. We went to the reeds to set more oil and after calling for awhile he came out where Axel pinpointed. We can’t thank both of you from the bottom of our hearts!” - Pascal

“I saw a flash of ginger and knew it was Rosie!” - Diane

Blue was on a mission and tracked Rosie from her back gate and to a garden about 2 blocks away. With a distinct patch of ginger on her one leg, when we approached and she moved, I knew Blue had found her! She darted into a drain and Blue proceeded to show Rosie’s granny where she was hiding.

The Healthy Hound luring method was used and Rosie was home a few hours later!

Rosie will be kept indoors for a while so she doesn’t pull a naughty run away move again!! Thank you Blue for another amazing search.

MIA Mia is home!!! 🥰

Just look at that face!! No wonder her dad loves her so much 🥰

We were called when she didn’t report for food and James and Axl went searching. Axl tracked for quite a distance and indicated on a drain. Luring was done but no luck so Blue was brought out to see where Mia was and he confirmed the same area. So, we lured again. And this time Mia responded!! She walked in as if nothing had happened!!

🐈‍⬛ Welcome Home Tux 🏡

Yesterday Axl was asked to help find Tux who had been missing a few days. Axl tracked him to not far from another cat we recently found - we think they might be friends! The family was told how to do the Healthy Hound luring method and they did it immediately.

This morning we got the news that he was home: “Hi Diane and James. Our beautiful kitty, Tux, has just come home! Thank you so much for helping us to find him. Our hearts are overwhelmed with joy! He is dirty but unhurt. From Bernadine, Oren and family.”

🥰 A warm welcome home to Rosie 😍

Rosie is a very sweet cat who went missing recently. Her mom called us in and Diane and Blue went out to search. Blue worked solidly and indicated on a drain not too far from home. Rosie was being stubborn. Her mom did exactly what we told her to do and did the Healthy Hound luring method and as you can see… it worked!

Rosie is happily back at home and being spoilt.

Welcome home Biscuit!

On Friday night we searched for this cutie and Axl did not disappoint!! He led us to a drain and told us Biscuit was there! Biscuit’s mom followed our guidance and used the Healthy Hound luring method and… well… Biscuit is home!

Last week was a bit quiet for us but, we did have quite a bit of successes so watch the posts this week!! Will also be sharing some posts from our training sessions.

Axl retains his pawsome success rate and hopes that he can help more families this week!

One of things we do is we give back to our community. Today we did a snare walk and cleared over 30 snares from along the one fence.

It is sad and horrible that people set such cruel devices and don’t always check the snares - we found one snare with a pile of bones below.

We will be adding snare walks to the work we do in our community and we encourage others to get involved in their community.

Welcome home Boodle

Boodle went missing when the family brought a human baby home. Axl tracked Boodle to Delta Park and we decided to use the Healthy Hound luring method to get Boodle home. It worked!! The next day Boodle walked in and demanded love from the humans.

Boodle will be kept indoors for a while and baby human is going to her home tomorrow (baby human was visiting granny).

Congratulations Yasmeen on your grandchild. And, please give Boodle extra cuddles from us.

A belated Happy Birthday to Axl who turned 5 on Saturday!!

We did not forget but Axl was away so could only celebrate today. Axl is a sweet boy who although not affectionate, is extremely loving on his terms and will demand a game or cuddle when he wants. He is our chief cat search dog and definitely identifies as a cat!!!

At home he likes to do his own thing but can get extremely hyper and playful in the mornings and afternoon!!!

In 5yrs he has achieved a LOT and done so many things from starting as a therapy dog and training with to moving on to be a missing pet search dog specializing in cats.

Happy birthday boy. You are our Cinderella, our Max, Maxl, Axl and most of all: Boss Dog

We wish all his siblings who were born at a happy birthday!!!

This old cat decided to hide but…

Dad called Axl and James in and Skylo’s hiding place was found! Sklo is 13yrs old so didn’t go too far and was found on the property.

😻 Welcome Home Sebastian 😻

Sebastian went for a little adventure and was away a little longer than normal so his mom called us in. Axl tracked to a complex a block or so away and indicated on a drain in there. The HH luring technique was used and his mom also checked with that complex who confirmed that he had been visiting. Sebastian snuck home but stuck to the drain by his home. A lure was done from the drain by his house and as our team were about to go do a followup search, he came home!

Welcome home big guy. Please stop visiting the neighbors and stick to your pawsome family!!

🐾 ED - aka Chonky Chonks / Eddo 🏠

Ed has multiple families in his complex and is so well loved that we had multiple homes we could take scent from! He is most certainly loved. 😻

Axl and James searched for him and discovered all his hideouts. But there was one that his families did not know of! The greenbelt.

A lure was done using the Healthy Hound method and… a mere few hours later and Ed was home!!!

His families will definitely be keeping a closer eye on this young cat going forward.

Axl tracked Kai to a drain by a park over 1km from home. With our luring method and a bit of help from Axl, we managed to get Kai to come home!

Tom the miracle cat….

We were called out to search for Tom and Axl indicated he was in the drains. James advised on what to do and it sort of worked in that Tom did come out of hiding and was sighted but, a rescue was needed because Tom recently had surgery due to being hit by a car and was not well.

Fortunately we don’t just search and we geared up to search in some nasty drains! (Diane will be buying new boots today!! 🤮) We got news he may be in a roof and this was jackpot. As James popped the lid of the roof, Tom popped out the other end of the roof and darted into a drain. A +3hr long rescue ensued where plumbers worked on one end and we worked from the other. Diane stared at Tom’s butt for hours, monitoring his movements. That stubby tail was not coming out by his own doing. With a little assistance, we managed to get him to wriggle out and using a .sa crate, we were able to trap him. A big thank you to the toddlers who assisted by making noise on the plumbers side of the drain - for once, toddler noise was needed to prevent Tom going to that side. 😍

He was taken to where he was checked out. He needs to have the surgeons check his previous injuries but so far it looks like he was eating whilst lost and is in amazing condition!! Tom really is a miracle cat.

🏠 Welcome home cute little Mango 🥭

Mango is a 1yr old who had not had his first taste of yet so mom got a bit worried when he didn’t return. Axl was asked to find him and found his hideout near a dam in the estate. Because he isn’t so familiar with dogs, we didn’t push him too much and did our very cool luring method. In order to get an adventure cat home, the lure has to be nicer than the temptations of the outside world and our trick worked!

🚗 Found in the neighbor’s car engine 🏠

The heading sums things up…. Axl went in search of this pretty baby and found her hiding in the neighbor’s car engine!! She had been missing for 4 days when Axl found her.

Cats love the warmth of car engines and amazingly we have encountered a few cats who have hidden for a few days in cars!

Welcome home Olaf

It never ceases to amaze us at how accurate our dogs are. When we were called out to search for Olaf, Axl took us to a house a few blocks away and his mom said she was sure Olaf never visited that far. Well…. Turns out that Olaf is there every day!!! The owners know Olaf well and confirmed Olaf was there in the time since he had gone missing. Axl then took us to a drain and indicate Olaf was hiding there. (Also, not as close to home as one would have thought.)

We instructed the owners on how to lure him home. It worked! Olaf seems to have been in a fight with another cat but was checked out by a vet and is on the mend.

☕️Time for tea with the Biscuit 🐾

Biscuit’s mom is currently sitting down with a cup of tea whilst she lectures this cute little Oreo Biscuit on adventuring. Oreo went missing on the weekend and seems to have gotten a little scared by a dog or 2. Fortunately Cairo came out and found where he was hiding and mom was able to lure him out of the area.

Mom will be contacting the maintenance guy we found to cat proof the house so Biscuit and his sibling do not go on any further adventures.

Bandit was our ride along buddy today to our Krav Maga training. After our training, he got to get some training in too! Bandit would now like to know if he can grade at too and if he can, does he have to grade as a junior since he is a baby? He can definitely do Krav and BJJ and, he has his own daggers so can do FMA too!

Welcome home sweet girl

Sophia’s family have been followers of ours for years and Sophia has gone missing a few times and we have chatted and helped coach the family to get her home but this time it did not work and they needed the dogs.

Axl and Peanut went out and made quick work of finding where she was hiding! It was a bit further away than the family had thought so they were grateful to the 2 pups for their super sleuth work. The family knew what to do with regards luring and lured from that spot. Sophie didn’t take too long and was home within hours!!

The family were extremely grateful for the dogs help and photos of dogs and Sophia were exchanged and we know the family can’t wait for this post so here it is…. Welcome home Princess Sophia!

Blue and Uno….

Blue was called to search for the search for Uno. He tracked straight to the next complex where he identified 2 houses where Uno was jumping between. The one neighbor confirmed that the birds in her garden had been disturbed by a cat earlier that morning. The way Blue was acting we knew that Uno was in one of the trees close but we did not want to scare Uno more because we know she is a timid cat who does not like dogs.

We got mom and dad to use our luring method which we know works well. Mom and dad were hesitant but followed our instructions to a T. And… it worked!!! Uno came home and UNO’s mom messaged us with an extremely grateful message.

Well done Blue dog!! Uno is grounded for a while.

😻 Welcome home little Misty cat 🎓

Misty if a 1.5yrs old Grey Tonkinese cat who never adventures long. Axl was called up for this search and tracked to a school in Craighall but they could not get access due to it being school time. Misty’s mom went later in the day and found Misty!

This is what she had to say to us: “Hi guys!
We found her at the school now.
I don't know how to thank you enough. If it wasn't for you guys I 100% would never have looked there.
Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Amber the escape artist is home!

Amber and her mix breed brother are escape artists who like to get out and adventure into the forest behind their home but generally come home. Last week however Amber did not return home and we were called out.

Her mom was concerned because she had heard that there were snares in the forest. James, Diane and Zizou went out into the forest and negotiated some pretty insane terrain and searched the area thoroughly. They found some spots where the pair of dogs visit regularly but then found a spot where Amber got out. The trail indicated that she had been picked up.

The team was right. A Good Samaritan had picked Amber up and took her to the vet who called Amber’s mom. The fence that Amber and her brother use to escape has been replaced with a wall so the 2 will not be adventurous again!! They are grounded.

🐾 5 month old Frank found by Blue 💙

Frank’s mom has been a fan of ours for a long time and never expected to need us but when her baby went missing, she knew who to call!

We always pick the right dog for the job and this time it was Blue who was the man for the job!! Blue made fast work of taking scent and indicated a direction. Diane clambered after him and before we knew it, Blue was indicating where Frank got out and was giving a definite proximity alert (each dog had their own little tell and with Blue, it’s this cute little head c**k).

Leigh and Ivan tried to get in contact with the neighbor for access and also contacted to see if they were clients of theirs but to no avail. We knew where Frank was but could not get to him!! So frustrating.

Mom and dad were going to try get us access for the morning and we drove off frustrated. As we were hitting the dirt road near home the phone rang. We stopped. We knew Frank was found. Blue was right! Has we been able to gain access when we were there Blue would have had a walk up find and in the words of Leigh: “It is an elderly couple who live there and most of their windows were closed, so he couldn't get out. Shame, Blue deserved to find him.” She also said that without Blue they would not have been able to find Frank.

You will have seen an increase in wins and it’s all down to increased traininf. We have been quiet and have been taking advantage of it by honing the skills of our dogs using proven mantrailing techniques as well as a method that we have been working on for cat searches. Train hard, work hard.

Blue comes from who breeds incredible working dogs. He eats which helps keep his endurance and energy levels high.

Soya is a cute little bundle of nerves who went missing when Mom and Dad went on holiday.

James and Axl responded within hours of the call and tracked Soya to a garage but could not get in there. James made sure Axl put enough scent there to either push Soya home or out of the garage and made arrangements to return the next day with backup if Soya did not exit.

James and Diane were about to head back when news came in that the plan had worked! Soya had darted into a neighbors yard and was safely captured and home.
