Pardon’s story is one of heartbreak but shows incredible strength.

Pardon was abandoned by his previous owner as a puppy and left to fend for himself on the rubbish dumps in the township.

When we found Pardon he was very young and was in a terrible condition, suffering from mange and covered in ticks and fleas yet even then his spirit shone through his “will” to live was clear and we knew that we had to help him.

Today Pardon is a healthy 18 months old medium breed dog thriving in our care, he has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped and is good with all his canine friends at our shelter and the 4 cats we have there, he loves people of all ages and is sweet and gentle and is longing for a family to call his own.

Pardon has one black eye and one white eye which makes him look different but unique, people often overlook him because of this but those who take the time to know him well discover a sweet, loyal and gentle soul who only wants to be loved.

Shane is a beautiful 3-4-year-old boy with a heart full of hope despite a tough start to his young life.

Left behind a shack in the township when his owners relocated, Shane wandered the streets searching for food on rubbish dumps and begging at houses, concerned neighbors reached out to us and we were able to rescue him, we found Shane hiding, terrified and shaking, underneath an old bath behind the shack that once was his home.

Shane is a sweet, loving boy who deserves a second chance at happiness having never known what it feels like to be loved or to have a home of his own, Shane has only experienced loneliness and neglect until he came to our shelter, while we do our best to provide for him a shelter is not a "home" and Shane longs for a family and "home" to call his own.

Shane has been sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped, he gets along wonderfully with dogs of all shapes and sizes, is fantastic with humans of all ages and is even friendly with the 4 cats at our shelter who are perfectly comfortable around him.

All Shane needs is someone to give him the love and security he never had, after a bad beginning he deserves a happy ending, if you can give Shane the home he’s been waiting for, please contact me.

This is Mikki a 5/6 year old boy considered to be old in the township, who was pushed out of his owners yard and forced to survive alone when he wasn’t wanted anymore.

Mikki didn’t know what he had done wrong and couldn’t understand why he was no longer allowed back into his home, he sat outside the gate for a long time but received no attention from his owner and was forced to find food and water on the rubbish dumps but always returned at night to sleep outside his gate hoping that he would be allowed back in his yard, eventually a neighbour called us and asked us to help Mikki which we did and today he is this magnificent dog in the picture.

Mikki is good with other dogs and adapts easily, he is loyal and loving and extremely friendly to every body he meets, he loves people, young and old and enjoys the love and attention he never received from his previous owners.

Mikkis heart was broken when he came to live at our shelter but today he is a happy, healthy boy looking for a new chance at life and a home of his own, he has been vaccinated, sterilized and microchiped and can’t wait to get out of our shelter if you can help Mikki please contact me.

Tytan is an amazing dog but is not coping at our shelter after being abandoned by his owners, he was surrendered to us when his humans decided that they couldn’t live together anymore and Tytan was in the middle of an ugly battle between the two of them and was eventually surrendered to us.

Tytan is loving and loyal and spends his days sitting and wondering why he has been abandoned, he is confused as to why he is not wanted and tries to understand why he has been left to sit in a cage at our shelter.

Tytan greets everyone who comes to our shelter expecting someone to fetch him and take him home, it is heartbreaking to see how Tytan misses his previous owners even though his previous life was not a good one, full of neglect and abuse.
Tytan is a 4/5 year old boy who has been sterilised, microchipped and vaccinated, he is the perfect family dog and desperately needs to find a new human or family to call his own, he needs to be wanted and can’t understand why he is now alone, if you can help Tytan please call me he really needs you.

Ash’s journey to us is one of heartbreak, she was surrendered to us after giving birth to puppies as her owners chose to keep one of her puppies and give her up instead. Sadly, this is a scenario we encounter far too often and one we work hard to discourage.

At first, Ash couldn’t understand what she had done wrong, she had loved her puppies and her home dearly, yet she found herself in an unfamiliar place, separated from her beloved pups,
the loss was overwhelming and Ash spent her first days at our shelter lying alone in her kennel, inconsolable but with time, patience and gentle care from the shelter staff, Ash began to heal, she slowly warmed up to her new environment and regained her confidence, showing us the sweet and loving dog she truly is.

Ash is a 2 / 3 year medium breed dog, that has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, she gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and sexes, adores humans of all ages, and has even befriended the shelter’s resident cats.

What Ash needs now is a family or person who will love her unconditionally and never give her away again.
She’s ready to trust and settle into a forever home where she can finally feel secure and cherished if you can provide Ash with the love and stability she deserves, please contact me.

Mason didn’t look like this when we fetched him from behind the shack where he had been left when his owners relocated and didn’t know what to do with him.
Mason was left tied up with no shelter, a few pellets thrown around him and a water bowl that was empty, how long he had survived like this we have no idea but if we hadn’t arrived to fetch him when we did he would not have lived much longer as he was extremely dehydrated, virtually a bag of bones and could hardly stand when we arrived, even in this situation Mason welcomed us with a wagging tail and couldn’t stop licking us to show his gratitude.

Today Mason is a gorgeous boy who is happy to be alive, he is 3-4 years old, has been sterilized, microchipped and vaccinated and just can’t wait to get on with his life out of our shelter, he is a joy to be with and loves his canine and human friends of all ages.

Mason is simply a great dog that would fit into any family and make a perfect family dog or a loyal and loving companion to a single person, if you can help Mason please call me he will be so happy to meet you.

Libbie’s story is one of resilience and hope, her neglect was so severe that her owner’s sister reported the situation to us and we stepped in and rescued Libbie and brought her to the shelter, while we’re unsure about the current relationship between the siblings, we laid a formal charge against the brother to ensure Libbie’s suffering would never be repeated.

When Libbie arrived at the shelter she was in a terrible condition, the worst case of worm, flea and tick infestation that we had ever seen but with time, love and dedicated care, she has been transformed into a beautiful, healthy and strong 4/5 years old girl.

Libbie has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, she gets along well with other dogs young and old of both genders and humans of all ages and the 4 cats at our shelter like her.

Libbie needs a loving family to show her that not all humans are cruel, while she has learnt to trust our shelter staff, she has not yet found her own special person, someone to provide the care, love and attention she truly deserves, if you can be the one to give Libbie the forever home she’s been waiting for, please contact me.

Meet handsome Finley.

Finley is without doubt a most loving and loyal dog, he just enjoys every minute of every day and can’t get enough of any affection that he may receive from the workers at our shelter, Finley has a simply wonderful character and appreciates everything that he receives with so much enthusiasm that it is a joy to be around him. Finley is 2-3 years old and has been sterilised and microchipped and is good with humans of all ages and other dogs of all sizes and sexes, Finley is the perfect family dog.

Finley wasn’t always the happy dog that he is today, he was one of the many dogs that are left behind when their owners relocate, left alone without food, water or shelter, tied to a chain behind a shack, unable to survive or fend for himself, wondering why this had happened to him, hungry, thirsty and confused, asking himself if they had forgotten him and unable to understand what he had done to have been left behind.

Finley has been at our shelter for a long time recovering from a broken heart, his soul was shattered and he needed time to forget the trauma of being rejected and unwanted, he has recovered now and needs to find some body to love him and give him a place he can call “home” if you can help Finley please contact me.

This is how we found Taz lost, alone, unwanted and starving.
Taz has made a remarkable recovery and can now stand and eat by himself, his coat is beginning to grow and his mange is gradually disappearing, he is beginning to live again, what his previous life was like we can only imagine but he is now looking for someone to love him and give him a home and a place of safety.

Taz is 2 / 3 years and has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, he is a sweet boy not wanting to be noticed and staying in the shadows, he doesn’t want to cause confrontation but gets on well with other dogs and humans, he is gentle and kind and so grateful for everything we do for him, he is a special “soul” that needs the help we cannot give him as he needs a home where he can grow into the dog he is meant to be, if you can help Taz please contact me.

Darcy hasn’t got much going for him he isn’t cute or good looking, he looks ok now, but he didn’t always look like this and has endured suffering and hardship throughout his entire young life.

Darcy wasn‘t wanted and was one of the thousands of unwanted puppies in the township, he was sold as a puppy to a boy for 50 cents who took him home, but the boy’s Mom didn’t want him so he lived outside sleeping on the doormat, fed sometimes but often not, this was his life as he grew he discovered he could find food on the rubbish dumps and this is where we found him dehydrated and malnourished seeking for food.

Darcy is 2 / 3 years old and has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, he needs to find a safe home where he can be the dog he was meant to be, he is a nice dog just wanting to be friends with everyone both human and canine of all genders and all ages.

Darcy doesn’t stand much of a chance to be adopted but we are trying for his sake, if you can help a dog like Darcy, please contact me

This is last Monday's delivery of food to the camp and 53 township dogs that we feed with an 8kg bag of food twice a month, thanks to Greg who supplies the Montego for our shelter dogs and Harry who supplies the food for the 53 township dogs, without these two amazing men we couldn’t do this and a lot of dogs would starve.

Harry and Greg make this happen but we need more people to help by donating one bag of food of any size that you can afford and we will collect it.

Every bag counts and makes a huge difference and we would encourage you to support this initiative as we won't be able to continue to feed these township dogs without more help.
